Synopsis: Outsiders, in the Kitchen, with the ice cream.
Cast of Characters: Phoebe Beacon, Roy Harper, Gabby Kinney

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    The Kitchen.

    The Roost.

There was a figure, looming in the darkness. Slipping through shadows with the near-silent tap of a padded boot in the dark, gloves reaching out for the most precious thing in the whole of the building --

    The handle of the refridgerator.

There's a click, the door opens, and briefly illuminates the white-screened domino of a masked hero, in Gotham knight-esque armor

Roy Harper has posed:
Against a wall, Roy is sitting at a table silently, his feet up on the table. He has a tub of ice cream in his lap -- mint chocolate chip -- and he's eating directly from the tub with a spoon. When he sees the light flash he grins. "You're mother and I are very upset with you, young lady! Do you even know what time it is?" He digs out a big spoonful of ice cream and pops it sagely into his mouth, peering at Phoebe.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
What is this, the inquisition? While Roy is speaking of mothers and such, Gabby has managed to purloin a spoon. Now that the door to the fridge opens showing her target she dives in spooning some of the icecream out of Roy's container. "Hi Balm!" She greets before the spoonful of icecream is tucked into her mouth. She pauses there, swallowing it almost in one gulp, before she glances at Roy, then Balm again. "Oh wait am I supposed to be the mom?" Clearing her throat she intones in as matriarchal a voice as she can, "We were worried sick!"

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe pulls a take-out box from the fridge, and reaching up with a hand, she removes her domino. She wrinkles her nose a moment as she leans back on her heels, and shakes her head.

"It's nearly fourAM." she states, coming over and joining the group at the table as she takes the chopsticks that were left in the food, and she flops in a chair, and produces a white bottle of gatorade as well.

"And I just came in from patrol." she points out with a little smile. "What're you two still doing up, aside from eating all Tim's ice cream?"

Roy Harper has posed:
A little snort comes from Roy. "His bad for putting in the kitchen." He positions the tub so Gabby can have easier access to it."

He gestures toward Phoebe with a flick of his chin. "You look hot in that armor, girl. What kinda stuff were you up to out on patrol?"

Roy rolls out another gob of ice cream with his spoon and pops it in his mouth.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Ugh. Finished up my final essays for the year. Glad I don't really do traditional school but..." Gabby's nose scrunches and the offer of icecream from Roy tipping the container toward her is accepted with a quick nod. And another scoop from her spoon dipping inside. "Needed a sugar rush to rebrain my thoughts. I mean. Much as sugar does anything for me... It still tastes great."

"Hey, be nice, Roy, she's the one that'll fix you up if slash when you get injured." Yes, she actually says the 'slash' part of that statement. "Balm is great."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe gives a smile, and pulls down her hood, and stretches her left shoulder. "Eh, I'm all right when I don't disappear for months on end hiding from necromancers." she jokes, and stirs up her noodles.

"And the armor's got some cooling in it, I don't feel especially wa--" she pauses, and then she gets it. Roy gets a :| look over to him.

"Well. I mean. Other than running into a New York superhero here in Gotham, nothing really to report. Busted a couple of purse snatchings and one break-in-in-progress. Left them for the boys in blue."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy pops some more ice cream into his mouth. "I had a weird one tonight," he says off-handedly, ignoring the look from Phoebe. She knows he's gay so she can't possibly think he's hitting on her. "Met this chick who could fight like a badass. Like one of us. She claimed she's, get this, Helena Wayne from another dimension." He shrugs a little, licking the spoon. He looks from Phoebe to Gabby to Phoebe again. "I swear, this job never stops getting weirder."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney hums thoughtfully with a few nods of agreement. "Usually get a lot of petty muggings and stuff, I think it's just that time of year. People are short on cash and stressed. Course that's most of the year, too," she reasons while glancing up toward the ceiling thoughtfully. It wasn't as if she had a lot of experience as to what would cause muggings. It's Roy's remarks that cause her to tune back into the conversation fully. "Helena Wayne? Whozzat?" It's asked quite sincerely with no hint of mocking. She. Did not. Know. "I mean I get the from another dimension thing. There's this one family at my school that has like, a LOT of members from potential future timelines show up every few months."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Yeah, I mean even Bart's only a 'potential' member of the Allen family, until it comes to pass." Phoebe points out, and she gives a grin to Roy. "Just wait. I met the Scarlet Spider last night. Nice guy, he's from Queens." she explains, and stirs her veggie noodles. "He was in town grabbing a vintage camera. Photographs for a hobby, quick with a quip but the poor guy's wearing sweatpants for his costume. I feel for him."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy wrinkles his nose and nods to Gabby. "Well I'm definitely not smart enough to untangle the multi-dimension and time travel stuff," he says sagely as he pops more ice cream in his mouth and talks with his mouth full. "Just show me some bad guys who need an ass kicking and that's my bliss."

To Phoebe, "I wasn't talking about the temperature, nerd. I mean you look /good/ in that armor. You look hot. It's a compliment. Just say thank you." He gives her a wink. "And if it wasn't for Ollie's money, I think I'd be wearing sweat pants too."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"I dunno about smart enough, I just kind of nod and go with the flow. Nothing I can do about it anyway. Plus," Gabby adds with a waggle of her spoon. "I'm a clone. Not like I'm one to throw stones about legitimacy, right? I had nine sisters in my batch, Plus Laura, and then the actual blood siblings." A small shake of her head is given as she adds, "And the other siblings. Family shrub," she explains with a helpless shrug.

"You do look good in the outfit, Phoebe. I need to udpate my costume. It's just kind of a mishmash of my suit when I was one of The Sisters, and now just... upgraded stuff I guess." Again she looks thoughtful. "Wait. Crimson Spider? Not Spiderman? I met him before, he bought me hotdogs. I think my brother has a crush on him."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Scarlet Spider, not Spider-man. And -- your brother? I thought you only had sisters...?" Phoebe looks peturbed that she had either misheard something or missed some fact. She sets her chopsticks down and fiddles a little bit with her domino mask. "I wonder if I can have Tim put blue instead of white screens in this thing--" she mumbles, and then she grins.

"Fine. Thank you. And you wouldn't. You're one of Tim's friends. The very first thing he did when I joined the Outsiders was make me armor. It's based off one of his suits, just altered for no anchors for the cape and add hood and backpack, adjust for different torso measurements and ah -- less 'boxy' in the front." she motions downwards, and she gives a slight smile.

    "... so Ollie? Who's Ollie?"

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy sets the ice cream tub on the table. It seems like 1,900 calories of mint chocolate chip is his limit. It's good to have boundaries.

"Oliver Queen in Starling City," Roy answers, naming the very famous billionaire. "He adopted me. I don't even really know what he is to me. Adopted brother? Adopted uncle? I dunno. It's all very undefined."

He lets his feet flop back down to the floor. "I had a date the other night," he says. "Dude named Franklin." He nods his head. "It went really well. I really kinda like him."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney flashes a grin toward Phoebe with a quick shake of her head in response to the confusion of her siblings. Three fingers are held aloft. "Clone sisters, yeah, but Wolverine has some actual flesh and blood children I've met, too. Plus a few other experimental... it's confusing. But I've got three brothers: One I haven't met and probably shouldn't, Jimmy, and it's kind of an iffy situation, but Deadpool too. He's fun and knows where to find the best weapons."

Mention of a date earns a little, "Oooh tell!" In response to Roy. There's no surprise or gawking at the mention of a guy. She just rolls with it. "I haven't been on a date in for-eeever."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Huh. So, Oliver Queen, huh?" she questions thoughtfully. She's finding out all sorts of secret identities this week.

She gives a slight smile. "Being adopted is overrated. Emjoy the legal guardianship and use the name to get the Good Table at fancy restaurants when you take Franklin out again." she gives the wry smile, and she reaches for the ice cream, taking out a spoon.

And her ears and cheeks darken. "I've only ever been on one. Kind of. It was..." she frowns a moment, and then she puts her head down.

    "We stopped a kidnapping."

Roy Harper has posed:
With a gentle flick, Roy lobs his spoon at Gabby playfully. "Stop calling yourself a clone! You're a /person/. You're an /Outsider/. You're /family/. Anybody here would put their life on the line for you," he admonishes gently.

When Phoebe mentions how her date resulted in stopping a kidnapping, he whistles a low, impressed whistle. "Girl, are you /ever/ off-duty?" he asks warmly.

"Anyway, there's nothing to tell. We went to Angelo's in New York. We ate pizza, talked a bunch, played some arcade games. It was...it was really nice. I haven't felt that comfortable in a really long time." He shrugs and repeats, "It was just nice."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney squeaks in protest when icecream is lobbed her way. "Dessert abuse!" She blurts out only to swipe a napkin to clean up the mess. Thankfully someone smarter than her had put some on the table in one of those little dispensers for such an issue. "I am a clone, but I'm also a person. Trust me I know that. Just that's how I am. I don't have parents other than like, Logan." She pauses swiping up some mint choco to grin over at Phoebe. "That's sweet though! You know you can work together at least! Trust is important." Oh but then there's Roy's date which earns a nod of understanding. "That does sound nice too."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Look, when someone kidnaps the principle dancer of Cinderella when you're out on a date with a pretty girl, you take care of it." Phoebe points out to Roy dryly, and she gives a shrug, digging into the ice cream without looking. It takes a couple of tries.

"And technically, no, I'm never 'off duty'. One thing I learned when I was apprenticed over the summer, is that the minute you get into this stuff, it never leaves you alone. You never get out of heroing. There's never a vacation away from it... because it kinda just encompasses everything you do. 'S why I keep coming back to Gotham." she gives a small smile, and a shrug.

"I don't have any parents at the moment." she gives a thumbs up to Gabby. "As far as I know I'm a magical clone of my mother Paisi. I look pretty much exactly like her."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy's gaze flicks back and forth between Gabby and Phoebe. His expression is playful, warm. "TWO clones?" he jokes. "So basically I'm the only normal kid here," he opines sagely, closing his eyes for a few beats. Then he breaks into a laugh, having cracked himself up.

"Anyway, yeah I know what you mean, Pheebs. No way I could let some bad shit go down if there was something I could do about it, whether I was patrolling or at the movies or whatever.

All this warmth and coziness. This is definitely not stock Roy Harper. It's actually kind of weird.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney reaches over to steal what was left of the icecream Roy hadn't finished. There wasn't a whole lot left, but it was enough and she wans't about to let it go to waste. Caloric intake needs? Bah. "Yeah, that's different. It's one thing if you were like, out on patrol AS a date, but when you're just doing your thing and stuff happens? Who wouldn't jump in?" The answer was 'every normal person' but they were hardly the normal type. Phoebe's remark earns a guilty expression. "Ah... I'm sorry Phoebe, I don't mean to bring up anything upsetting. Nothing wrong with it if that's what's really happened to you but I mean. Still sucks to find out as a surprise revelation." She does crack a grin though, "I'm glad you're both at least finding people you enjoy spending time with."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"I'm not upset about it, Gabby." Phoebe states, and she goes to rub at her chest, but it's blocked by the fact that she's wearing gloves and chest armor. She scowls at her own incompetance of being unable to scratch her sternum.

"Everything from before I was two is a surprise to me. I found out I had family that cared about me, and that I was born part of an important family of magicians and healers in Africa, and was able to trace my family back to Ancient Egypt. I even got to see the room where I was born. It answered a lot of questions I had, but it made me feel bad since I'd always thought I was abandoned in a liquor store and not moved from place to place trying to be kept safe." Phoebe gives an uneasy smile. "... the village apparently also liked to send women out to come back with new blood. Take *that* as you will. All I know is that my mother was pregnant while she was at Oxford." Phoebe gives a slow shrug.

And then she pauses "... or... was this about the date, because we did get to see the second act from the catwalk above the stage, since our dresses were kinda ruined."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy takes a deep breath and stands. "Well I don't care if you guys are clones or not. You're family as far as I'm concerned. Aaaaanyway, I need to try to get some sleep. It was nice seeing you guys." He gives an oddly, un-Roy-like, warm smile and heads out to go to bed.
