Personality

Kind:
Connor is kind to a fault, often going out of his way to help and aid his friends and family no matter the cost to himself. Often he considers it his duty to his loved ones to render aid no matter how small or large the task. After dealing with long-term emotional issues of his own, he knows what pain and sorrow is and he's hard-pressed to ignore it in others. His kindness doesn't just extend to those he cares about, either. Strangers and sometimes even enemies and rivals earn his compassion almost as regularly, and though he will not hold back when it comes to protecting others and upholding justice, he works hard to rehabilitate and understand those he can.

Level-Headed:
When Connor was younger he had a terrible behavior problem and a propensity for violent action at the drop of a hat. Since then, he's spent several years learning at the feet of the masters of Ashram Monastery and amongst many other skills, learned to calm and control his emotions. Now, it's actually quite unlikely for Connor to lose his temper or jump to hasty action. He prides himself on maintaining his cool and acting calm under pressure, but some have said this can make him hard to relate to or empathize with. Still, Connor regularly acts as the voice of reason and temperance in stressful situations, and that can be quite valuable in his line of work.

Virtuous:
It's likely due to the fact that he spent all of puberty in a Monastery, but Connor's not much for vice. He's a living, breathing human being so he knows temptation and desire, but its effects on him are muted. After several long years focusing specifically on his self-control and willpower, it's almost second nature to him to act in a generally virtuous manner. He doesn't really drink or party, and his idea of a fun time is generally a good book by a fire or a rousing board game more so than anything else. Though it was at a Monastery that he developed this mild temperament, it's not an overly religious doctrine that guides him. He simply has more experience and thus finds greater comfort in moderation.

Powers

Zen Vision:
Through extensive training with Zen Archery, Connor has achieved a level of mastery over his meditative state that allows him to receive visions of the past and present. This is not precognition or prediction, but rather the ability to access the astral plane through his unconscious mind and see distant places and people. It's not a power or skill he has control over and not one he can purposefully induce, but it has helped him at least once in the past locating someone he thought dead at the time. Ultimately, Connor trusts these sporadic bouts of insight he receives, but their unpredictable nature makes them unreliable and it's usually only in moments of desperation or common chance that he happens to access them.

Skills

Athleticism:
Years of training and physical discipline have given Connor an impressive range of motion and strength. His body is considered to be at peak human condition, allowing him to move and react to stimuli with exceptional agility and speed, lift and move a few hundred pounds of weight if he strains, and generally clamber and climb up a wide assortment of urban obstacles without tiring for a few hours. He's more then capable of outpacing your average human in fit shape and can keep up with the best of those who also maintain their bodies and athleticism to the same rigorous standards.

Body Reading:
There are a multitude of clues that the body broadcasts during interactions that a trained observer can pick up on. The way the eyes move, the position of the arms and feet, the way someone speaks or which words they emphasize or pause on, even the way they phrase certain things. All of which can be analyzed by someone who knows what they're looking for and used to ascertain a variety of things about another person, and Connor has been trained to recognize it all. He can spot a lie from a mile away and can generally pick up on the mood of whomever he's watching, even if they're trying to hide it. Likewise, he knows enough about these clues to suppress them in himself and fool others who are looking to read him, but by the same token, those who are skilled enough can conceal themselves from him just as easily.

Hunting:
Connor has been trained in the art of stalking and tracking prey, both human and animal. Of course the practice is best served in forested and natural environments where tracks are easier to follow and the shadows are deeper, but through trial and error he's managed to turn his skills to practical use in urban environments as well. He can follow a trail for miles so long as there's something to follow, and he's trained in maintaining a subdued presence along the way by limiting the clues he himself leaves behind.

Intuitive Mimicry:
Connor Hawke possesses a rare talent for martial arts, but it goes beyond a mere aptitude. After only a relatively short observation -- the span of a spirited bout, for instance -- Connor can mimic and learn any style of hand-to-hand combat to a startlingly competent degree. This is not a meta-human or mutant ability to perfectly copy someone's physicality, but instead a pure and intuitive understanding of athleticism and martial arts that allows him to analyze and replicate styles. Within a few repetitions he can perfectly duplicate a technique, with a few minutes he can learn the strengths and weaknesses of a particular art, and in under an hour he can easily pass as an accomplished student. He won't fool any masters, and though he can reasonably assume certain basic techniques and fill minor gaps in his knowledge, he can't intuitively guess at secret arts or complex moves he hasn't directly observed. Still, he internalizes and memorizes the styles he observes, actively learning what others might take months or years to grasp. This is the secret to his startlingly rapid tutorship in the Ashram Monastery at the feet of their masters and a large part of what makes Connor such an effective martial artist.

Martial Arts:
Few would think it based on Connor's relatively young age, but he's a genius when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. An intuitive grasp of martial arts combined with a burning desire to learn, and access to masters of the craft has allowed Connor to earn quite the name for himself amongst some of the most legendary combatants on the planet. He's studied an assortment of styles and trained extensively in their use, internalizing their tenants to such a degree that he's shown little loss in capability even while blindfolded. So great is his ability, that though he initially set out to study the bow and follow in his father's footsteps, his skill in hand-to-hand combat soon surpassed his zen archery. Out of deference to his father's legacy, he still considers himself to be an archer first and a martial artist second, but none can deny where his true strength lies. He's still young, but Connor is already considered to be one of the best martial artists in the world.

Stealth:
Some think stealth is all about lurking in shadows and hiding behind large objects, but those are only the basics any child knows. The art of remaining unseen is extensive and full of much finer points that allow one to hide in plain sight and move with the shifting darkness. Connor has studied this art and has become quite proficient in employing it. Though it's a difficult thing, at times Connor has even managed to conceal his presence and passage from those with enhanced senses and perception.

Survival:
Connor has trained and been tutored in the art of surviving without resources in multiple high-stress scenarios across a broad spectrum of environments. This comes down to more than mere fire-starting techniques and memorizing some edible plants, though. He knows how to read a landscape to find food, shelter, and water if it exists to be found. He knows the signs to look for to determine if a plant is edible, how to treat minor wounds, and how to recognize the symptoms of more complicated medical matters such as infection, starvation, exhaustion, hypothermia, etc. If absolutely necessary, so long as an environment has the potential to sustain human life, Connor has the requisite skills and knowledge to last as long as he needs to.

Tactics:
Through both the study of texts and real life experience, Connor has been trained to formulate and execute complex tactical plans. This applies to both on-the-fly analysis of a situation and more in-depth operational planning. Primarily his experience applies to approaches the rely solely on his own abilities, but he has technical and theoretical knowledge of small squad tactics as well. There are certainly finer tactical minds out there, but Connor has shown a fair aptitude for the art and has studied under some extremely capable teachers.

Zen Archery:
Through years of study and training Connor has learned and mastered the art of Zen Archery. In the practice, one supposedly projects their consciousness out from their body to become one with bow and arrow. Whether or not the spiritualism is warranted, the results can hardly be argued with. Connor has achieved an almost preternatural level of skill and marksmanship with his chosen weapon. He can hit ricochet and trick shots as fast as he can draw the bow, fire at extreme range targets with unerring accuracy, and has even demonstrated enough skill to fire blind and still put his arrow where he wants it.

Resources

Ashram Monastery:
Ashram Monastery was once Connor's home, its monks his teachers and guardians. He's done a bit of growing since then, but Connor is always welcome within the grounds. This serves as calm shelter whenever he needs it, but it's not simply a roof over his head either. The monks of the Monastery are the very same masters who taught him his skill with a bow and martial arts. Resources exist there for him to rearm himself, and it's filled with at least a dozen combat experts who consider Connor to be like family. They won't wage a war on his behalf, and he'd never dream of intentionally putting them in harm's way, but it's certainly safer in a tight spot than sleeping under a bridge.

Custom Bow:
Connor is trained to use and possesses a variety of bows that might serve any particular purpose, but his primary weapon of choice is the custom bow made for him at the Ashram Monastery. Though it started life as a recurve bow, Connor has made a multitude of adjustments to it to suit his needs, including a steel casing over the grip to serve as an impromptu fist weapon and a method for rapidly converting it into a staff.

Trick Arrows:
Perhaps the largest departure from his father's legacy, Connor was once loathe to make use of trick arrows and considered himself a relative purist when it came to vigilante archery. Over time, he's amended that position and made room in his arsenal for specialized arrow heads after realizing their practicality. Still, he doesn't go quite as far as his father has in the past, choosing instead to stick to a fairly straight forward approach. Explosives, grappling hooks, smoke bombs, and electrified heads have all made it into his quiver at one time or another, but he generally limits himself to designs that don't drastically alter the shape and function of a standard broadhead or bodkin.

Weaknesses

Cloistered:
Connor's not naive and he's received enough training from his mentors to be able to read body language and detect lies, but he's far from experienced with the world at large. Though he only entered the Ashram Monastery when he was thirteen, and the monks who tutored him did their best to give him a broad education, there are some things you just can't be taught. This means that Connor sports a pretty glaring whole in his social awareness and skill. There's no chance he's blending in at a mixer or smooth-talking his way out of danger and he's particularly vulnerable to high-class manipulators, though they do have to be careful not to get caught in a lie by the very observant archer.

Family:
Connor's family is still very much alive. His mother lives in San Francisco and is as vulnerable as your average person on the street, which is in itself a potential route of attack for any of Connor's enemies who learn of it. More obviously though is his father Oliver Queen. Connor's enemies don't even truly have to understand the relationship between himself and Ollie to manipulate it. Everything he's done for the past several years has been to follow in the Green Arrow's footsteps and earn his approval on some level. If Ollie finds himself in trouble Connor will do whatever it takes to help, even putting himself in mortal danger to do it.

Human:
In a world full of metahumans, mutants, and superpowered aliens, Connor is painfully human. It doesn't take a thrown bus or a special rock to take him out of a fight, either temporarily or permanently. It's something he must be aware of every time he vaults from one rooftop to another or chases some armed criminals down a dark alley. He's far from your average pedestrian on the street, but anyone with a fraction of power and a skewed moral compass is a potentially major threat. He has to stay on his toes or he'll join a growing list of fallen heroes very quickly.
