Profile
Born in Moscow to unassuming parents, FLATLINE discovered her ability to absorb the memories of the recently deceased when her grandfather, a former KGB experiment, passed. After defending her family from attackers, when her powers fully manifested, she was abandoned by her family, fleeing Moscow and finding her way to Japan, under the tutilage of "Lord" Death Man, an enemy of Batman who was able to continuously drill her with new skills using his resurrection gimmick. Now working for him as his sidekick/go-for/enforcer, Flatline contentedly bides her time whil eating candy and listening to K-Pop.
Timeline
Timeline:
* Pre-2000: Flatline's grandfather is experimented on by the KGB and used as a contract killer, and murders others in his spare time.
* 22 October 2007: Flatline, real name Nika is born.
* 2010: Nika's fascination with death begins when she witnesses an auto accident.
* 2014-15: Nika's fascination with death grows and she develops a fondness for skulls, bones, crows, and other vestiges of death.
* Late 2019: Nika begins to have visions of her ailing grandfather in his prime viciously executing and murdering others. Her family does not believe her.
* Early 2020: Nika's grandfather dies. Nika is able to absorb his memories and skills, confirming her visions were an early warning of her powers activating.
* March 2020: Her family is attacked at her grandfather's burial, and using the skills inherited from him, Nika executes the men who tried to kill her family. Her family is horrified and abandons her.
* 2020-2021: Nika wanders through Eastern Russia and Asia, finding that her powers do not work on the long-dead
* Early 2022: Nika eventually makes her way to Japan, and seeks mentorship under 'Lord' Death Man
* Mid 2022: Nika -- now known as Flatline -- continues to grow her skills at an exponential rate. Flatline is used as an enforcer for Lord Death Man in the Japanese crime underworld.
* Late 2022: Flatline occasionally forays into the US in order to track down targets for Lord Death Man and retains a small apartment in New York City.

Personality
Calculating:
Part of Flatline's powers means she learns how someone died, and learns to avoid their mistakes. She enjoys learning from people who have tasted defeat, since they have the most knowledge to give on 'don't do that'. If there is a set of rules she has to stick to, she plays it to the letter in ways to find loopholes if she needs to, or to remind others that they're not in the rules.
Fascination With Death:
Ever since she was a small child living in Moscow, Flatline has been fascinated with all aspects of Death. Mortuary science, coffin and casket construction and use, eco burial, human sacrifice, you name it she probably has at least some surface knowledge of it. She also likes learning *how* people have perished, and using that information to stop herself from dying in the process.
Flirty:
Flirty, playful, yet morbid, Flatline takes threats with an appropriate amount of gravity as she sees fit. She likes to put opponents off their guard and has no problem with a flirt given to guys, gals, or others if it gives her an upper hand in a fight. She never follows through -- when she steals a heart, it's unfortunately quite litteral!

Powers
Post-Mortem Absorbtion:
In an instant at the time or soon after death, Flatline is able to absorb physical skills and memories from those who have died in her vicinity. This power works best on the recently deceased and is typically used on those who perished in combat to learn what mistakes were made that lead to their demise so she doesn't make the same mistake. This ability activates instantly and permits her physical knowledge and skills like muscle memory, important facts and information like bank account, passwords, and what her targets purchased their Secret Santa. Her post-mortem absorbtion ability is to thank for her world-class martial artist skills and deadly hand-to-hand abilities.
Skills
Crime:
Hotwiring cars and motorcycles, underage driving, driving without a license, possession of deadly arms (and hands), smash-and-grab theft and the whole aiding and abetting murder thing -- she's got it all under her wide, white belt.
Escape Artist:
Flatline is capable of picking locks, wriggling out of ropes, cuffs, and finding her way out of locked spaces.
Juggling:
Flatline is a decent juggler, especially with knives. She got very bored one day and was determined to get good at something she hadn't learned from someone who'd died.
Languages:
Flatline speaks Russian and English fluently, business Japanese and some Korean - mostly related to K-Pop.
Martial Artist:
Flatline has absorbed the deaths and skills of several world-class martial artists, along with numerous absorbtions from her mentor, Lord Dead Man using his ressurection gimmick. She is a master martial artist, skilled in most hand-to-hand weapons and firearms, and capable of ripping people's organs out with her bare hands while chewing bubble gum.
Peak Fit:
Flatline is at peak fitness for a young lady of her age and weight class. She has excellent stamina and above-average skills.

Mentor:
LORD DEAD MAN -- a minor former enemy of Batman now based in Japan and working with the crime underworld, is an enemy with the power of resurrection. He provides leadership and tasks along with training for Nika. He occasionally also provides funds while she is outside Japan.
Weaknesses
Absorbtion:
You wanna know what's awful? Having to process someone's entire life history in an instant when you weren't prepared for it. If someone's willing to kill someone nearby her, it could open up an attack of opportunity.
Loner:
Flatline generally operates without supervision. She is a minor, illegal traveler, and although she does have a fake ID it doesn't match her physical appearance. Makes things awkward if you have to pick up an order instead of Door Dash.
Offputting:
Her appearance, the nature of her powers, and skillset doesn't lend itself to being too endearing. She's tried to embrace it, but it really does make teamwork a pain.
