Profile
Jayna is one half of the fabulous Wonder Twins! Never heard of them? She and her brother can transform into animals and water, respectively. It may not sound like the most potent power, but they make up for a lot of amazing powers with a bucketload of optimism and determination.
Timeline
Detailed History:
* 1999: Zan and Jayna are born. Zan three minutes before Jayna, as he oft reminds her. Unfortunately, their planet Exxor is currently ravaged by a plague, and their parents soon succumb. They are placed into an ophanage, but no one wants to adopt them because their purple eye color warns that they may be part of a genetic throwback.
* 2003: While running around inside the tent of a circus visiting the orphanage, the Twins run into each other and suddenly transform - Jayna into an Exxorian canine, and Zan into a wall of ice. The orphanage panics about what to do with them, but the owner of the circus steps up and offers to adopt them. The orphanage is glad to be rid of the two, and so they leave Exxor as part of Hador's Space Circus.
* 2012: The Twins spend years at the circus billed as sideshow freaks. Their only friend is one of the clowns, who takes them under his wing and raises them. The clown's best friend is Gleek, an intelligent blue primate. After spending years in the circus, the two are motivated to escape after the clown's passing. Together with Gleek, they sneak off and hide until the circus leaves. They then stowaway on a space cruiser, only to find that it is a warship on its way to the Terran planet as part of an armada coordinated by the Dominators. They hide from the aggressive soldiers on the ship, and use the chaos of the attack to slip away. They find themselves in Sweden, where a kindly scientist named Carter Nichols takes them in.
* 2018: After New York is invaded by Loki, the Twins decide that they should use their powers for good to help the people of Earth if there are any future alien invasions. They begin training, in secret, learning to control their transformations.
* 2022: Professor Nichols succumbs to a lengthy illness. In his will, he bestows Zan and Jayna with his estate, and writes a letter of introduction to a colleague of his in Metropolis. With no reason to remain in Sweden, the Wonder Twins embark on a trip across the Atlantic, setting their sights on a new life in the new world. In a city populated by the heroes they have read so much about.
Timeline:
* 1999: Zan and Jayna born on the planet Exxor during a plague and placed into an orphanage as both parents die.
* 2003: Their powers manifest. In a panic, the orphanage gives them to a passing circus owner who adds them to his side show as freaks.
* 2012: The Twins escape the circus with their best friend Gleek, an intelligent blue primate. They sneak aboard a battle cruiser that is part of the Dominion attack fleet bound for Earth, and slip away in the chaos. They are found by a kindly Swedish professor who takes them in.
* 2018: After New York is invaded by Loki, the Twins decide that they should use their powers for good to help the people of Earth, and start training themselves to be heroes.
* 2022: Professor Nichols succumbs to a lengthy illness. He wills his fortune to Zan and Jayna and writes a letter of introduction to a colleague of his in Metropolis. The Wonder Twins embark on a trip across the Atlantic to become superheroes.

Funny:
Jayna has a relaxed personality and tends to be the more humorous of the siblings in the sense of being able to make light of a situation and
Generous:
Jayna is generous, both with her time and her resources. She is a giving person and likes to instill happiness in others.
Inquisitive:
Jayna is inquisitive and curious. As a relative newcomer to Earth and definitely new to the US and heroes, she is very interested in learning and absorbing everything that she can.
Responsible:
While her brother is generally irresponsible and not serious, Jayna tends to take her responsibilities, and that of heroes, as something true and necessary. She will often either coax her brother into doing something necessary, or try to find a way to make up for his shortcomings.

Powers
Break Mind Control:
The act of engaging their powers works to break any mind control effects that are impacting either or both of the Twins.
Transformation:
Zan and Jayna's powers are linked to each other, and cannot be accessed if the other is not nearby, and touching in fact. When they are able to make physical contact directly or through a few conduits, each of them is able to transform. Jayna can transform into any living thing, and is not limited to living things on Earth! It just needs to be a living creature that she has encountered at some point in her life. While she did meet a few exotic creatures in the circus, most of the creatures she has encountered since gaining enough control over her powers to imprint have been Earth creatures.
Zan on the other hand can transform into anything constructed of water in any of its states. He could form a cloud, or a wave, or an ice construct. While in that form Zan has fully autonomy and can control every part of his form.
The transformation ends either when they wish to undo it, or if either of them fall unconscious.
Skills
Photography:
Jayna has taken up photography as a hobby. She is not a professional, but she has spent a lot of time photographing and cataloguing animal life, developing the interest while expanding the scope of her powers.
Zoology:
Jayna is studying zoology as a natural outgrowth of her interest in animals, and also to expand her repetoire for the purposes of heroing.
Resources
Gleek:
Gleek is a "space monkey" from the planet Exor. With blue fur and an incredibly long prehensile tail that is capable of stretching to great length, he is Jayna's real best friend. He can understand spoken English perfectly well, but cannot speak except for making chittering noises. He is, however, adept at using charades to act out his meaning, and has picked up ASL as a means to communicate. He also has a high tech bucket that he can spirit away into his belt, and manifest when needed to carry Zan. Perhaps most intriguing, Gleek can serve as a conduit for the Twins. As long as he can touch both of them, they can activate their powers.
Modest Wealth:
Prof. Nichols left the Twins with enough money to rent an apartment in Metropolis and live comfortably without working for the rest of their lives, but they do not have any excess and need to be mindful of their budget, unless one of them were to get an actual job. He did arrange for their undergraduate degrees to be on full scholarship.
Zan:
Jayna's twin brother and best friend. And also the most anoying person she knows. She cannot get away from him, literally. Otherwise her powers will not work. Zan is not particularly useful in and of himself in most situations, and even with his power he is borderline useless. But she can't have hers without his. Because the two are required for any power to work, Jayna is approved to emit Zan as needed in a scene.
Weaknesses
Human Like Physiology:
Exorian physiology is no different than a normal human's, so she is weak and fragile compared to most heroes unless she is transformed.
Secret Identity:
The world does not know who Jayna is. She not only hides her superheroics under her fake identity, Joanna Fleming, but she also hides her alien nature.
Twin Powers:
Jayna is literally unable to invoke her power if she cannot touch her brother physically or through a conduit.
