John Pops the Question
Date of Cutscene: 14 August 2021
Location: House of Mystery
Synopsis: It's not the most romantic of proposals, but John's gone and done it.
Cast of Characters: Meggan Puceanu, John Constantine

John closes his eyes through those little kisses to his palm, down his long, slender fingers.

"More laws than the mortal to swear it to, then..." His heart skips a beat or three there though, a little spike of fear, for her... not him. For the thought of her binding herself even more to him than she's already done.

His hand stills on her arm, that doubt, that 'what have I done' creeping around the edges of his mind again. It's enough to have him tilting his head away, his gaze up to the ceiling.

"Meggan..." he begins, the name loaded with so much he needs to say, but... in the end he doesn't speak a word of it, he just hugs her tighter.

Selfish - the word flashes in his mind, but he can't do it, as selfish as it feels, he can't let her go.

Instead he does the opposite when he finally speaks further. "Meggan, we should get married. Will you marry me?" It's John, so it's obvious that he's not talking about some trip to the Justice of the Peace or such. No, whatever ceremony there's to be, it's not that. "Should I get down on one knee or summat?"

PS: She said yes.
