* 2023: Jonathan puts the finishing touches on his costume, hires gangs of Hoodlums to work for him, and is about to introduce NYC to a new brand of comedy.

Personality

Bitter:
Jonathan is a very bitter man. He thinks he has been shafted from the fame and fortune he believes he deserves, being blind to his flaws. As a result, he holds a bitter resentment towards the world in general, especially towards the critics that panned him and those that laughed at his humiliations.

Cruel:
Jonathan may have a sense of humor, but it's often done at others' expense. His favorite pranks and jokes often involve property damage up to physical harm to even near death. All that matters to him is that his audience, or him, finds it funny.

Egotistical:
Jonathan has an ego that is almost the size of Texas. He is convinced he is the best at what he does and will not even consider an opposing opinion.

Goofball:
The Jester character that Jonathan plays is a goof, a sinister goof, but a goof nonetheless. He often cracks jokes, pulls harmless pranks on others for a quick laugh, and delights when he makes his Audience laugh.

Hammy:
Jonathan is a very overdramatic, theatrical person, which may have been part of the reason his acting was panned on Broadway. He relishes each role he plays and tunes it up to 11, playing it with such enthusiasm and gusto that it's both endearing and goofy.

Theatrical:
Jonathan is a natural-born actor. He treats everything he does as The Jester as a performance, and he always insists on entertaining his audience and staying in character. He will often exaggerate his comedic jester persona and use flowery language and other quirks to keep in character.

Vengeful:
Beneath all the colorful language and weaponized items, Jonathan is a very vengeful man. He resents those who panned him as an actor and often schemes half-heartedly to take vengeance on them. But, he could do so one day and take any heroes that anger him with them in the process.

Resources

Dr.gearbox:
Dr.Gearbox, real name Mortimer Daily, is a criminal engineer and inventor responsible for all of Jester's weaponry. He is currently laired in an abandoned section of the NYC subway system. If he were to be taken out, it would cripple Jonathan badly, hence why he keeps his existence a secret.

Fencing Foil:
Jester always comes equipped with a sharpened fencing foil, which he is very good at using.

Giggle Gas:
Gearbox's newest invention is Giggle Gas, Jester's answer to Joker Venom. Giggle Gas, if breathed in, can cause uncontrollable laughter and spasms for up to 2 hours in most people but rarely causes death. (Note, I will ask before using it on PCs)

Hoodlums:
Jester has gone out of his way to hire gangs of street thugs and hoodlums to help in his schemes. These crooks, who are often clad in blue jeans and a green t-shirt with a laughing jester face on the front, tend to be mostly competent and loyal to their boss, but they tend to get easily beaten by most heroes.

Lair:
Jester is currently laired in an abandoned soundstage somewhere in the Bronx. His lair, which is comfortably housed in a scale replica of a medieval castle, comes equipped with traps and alarms to alert him and his men to intruders and is hooked up to an untraceable Internet signal that allows him to stream his videos without being traced.

Toys and Bits:
What makes Jester truly dangerous is all the weaponized toys and other prop gadgetry provided to him by Gearbox. This equipment allows him to fight on even footing against most street-level heroes. Amongst these are-

A yo-yo with a weighted knob and a steel cable that serves as an excellent melee weapon.

Ball Bearing marbles that stick together as a giant clump but explode into hundreds of slick and slippery marbles when tossed onto the ground, serving as an excellent tripping hazard.

A carton of fake popcorn kernels that, if launched from a spring inside the carton, explode into tear gas when they break.

Plastic flying discs which squirt an anesthetic drug and rubber balls containing plastic explosives.

Artificial hands that can be launched from an air cannon and, if it hits, give out an electric charge.

Website:
Jester has a website where he posts videos of his pranks for his adoring audience. This website is hidden deep in the internet and designed to be hard to trace by the authorities through a complex system of VPNs, dummy accounts, and a few fake IPs.

Weaknesses

Ego:
Jonathan's ego is his biggest flaw. He is convinced that he is a genius planner and schemer and refuses to listen to criticism, even if it can aid in his plans, which can result in disaster.

Human:
Underneath all the gadgetry and training, Jonathan is still human, and a lucky critical shot can still kill him
