Profile
Mina Murray is THE Mina Harker who was sought out by Dracula because she is the doppleganger of his long dead wife. She is a former member of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, a secret organization that protected the British Empire in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Its' members are all dead except for Mina. Five years ago she was released from a high security hospital in the UK after a severe mental breakdown in the late 1960s. Since then she has spent her time adjusting to the modern world. Now she wants to try and make a difference again, do good, and protect the helpless from paranormal, and supernatural threats. She will keep the memory of the League alive by her actions today!
Timeline
Timeline:
1871: Born and raised in Victorian England
1897: Her fiance', Jonathan Harker, returns
from a long journey to Transylvania. Dracula attempts to turn Mina into a vampire but fails. Van
Helsing seemingly destroys Dracula but Mina was turned into a half-vampire, the curse not taking
hold entirely, but changing her nevertheless. Mina and Jonathan marry soon after this.
1898:
Mina divorces Jonathan. Jonathan was disgusted by her scars and she could not take the growing
distance between them. She had also changed after Dracula attempted to turn her. The love that once
existed between them had faded as they both had become different people due to their
experiences.
1899: Mina joins a secret organization in service to the crown called The League
of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Her unique powers and experiences proved to be valuable. But her
inquisitive and bright mind in many ways proved even more valuable. Over the years she went on many
missions and adventures, defending the British Empire from her enemies.
1940: The League
disbands due to its' members being aged and elderly.
1958: Mina obtains the Black Dossier
after an altercation with an MI6 agent who was aware of Mina's identity. He attempted to attack and
violate her. She fought him off and took the Dossier.
1964: Mina continues working with MI5
even though the League is gone. Her identity by now has become classified since she should not even
be alive at this point.
1969: Mina is hospitalized in a top secret government installation
after having an encounter with bats and a lone vampire. She breaks down and has to be rescued by MI5
operatives. She enters a decades long period of therapy and healing. She is forced to face her past
trauma, and suffering, as well as finally dealing with the deaths of her fellow League members over
the years, whom she considered treasured friends.
2015: Mina has healed in stages and the
British intelligence officials who were "in the know", as well as doctors with the necessary
security clearances, considered her to be healed enough to be released from care. She is considered
to be a dangerous asset and it was important to make sure that she was stable enough to be let out.
It took a long time but she is well enough to make it on her own.
2020: Mina has started to
become more active in the world again, investigating occult, or paranormal activity mostly. She
helps whoever she can. She has become aware that there are various superheroes who have appeared
over the years. She feels that she may be able to help them if she can meet them. Seeing that some
of them have formed organized teams, they kind of remind her of her beloved League..

Personality
Assertive:
Mina is an assertive woman. As a former school teacher, agent, and half-vampire, as well as a
woman who has survived MUCH in her life, she has a strength of mind and will that is well above
average. This makes her confident and she has a sort of "take charge" mentality much of the time.
She isn't a pushover and will not let anyone judge her by her small stature. At the same time she is
not overly aggressive either. She does not see violence as a first resort and does not believe in
using excessive force.
Brave:
Mina is brave, has strong willpower, not much really gets to her due to how much she has been
through, and the over a century of experience she has. Not much surprises her either, she will stand
in the face of a charging enemy, and she will not run away.
Cautious:
Mina has been through a lot and has seen a lot. This makes her a bit paranoid resulting in her
being far more cautious than many others. She is slow to trust people she has just met and she does
not allow herself to become attached until she has known the person for a while. She is slow to make
friends or to meet new people at all outside of necessity.
Honest:
Mina is honest and blunt. She will speak her mind and will not spare you the reality of a
situation, or the reality of her feelings towards you. This can be good or bad depending on the
situation. You will know where you stand with her, she doesn't play silly games, and deception is
merely a tool of the trade to be used only when necessary. It is not a way of life as it is for some
people who choose to wear masks their whole life. She has no need! She has lived too long for
that!
Logical:
Mina prefers to let reason and logic dictate her actions instead of emotional impulses. She is
educated and well read. She has certainly lived more than one lifetime and has accumulated a lot of
knowledge and experience. She solves problems and makes decisions based on facts. This does not mean
that she doesn't feel emotions, it's just that she knows that feelings are not always based in
reality.
Character Sheet
Powers
Enhanced Physique:
Mina is half-vampire, which means that even after living for so long her powers have not
progressed to the level that a full vampire of her age would have. She can lift up to a ton/exert a
ton of force, is durable enough to resist force of up to a ton without being hurt, run about 45 MPH,
and has enhanced reflexes allowing her to be able to dodge arrows and bullets. She can increase her
speed quickly allowing her to move at her top speed in an instant if necessary.
Enhanced Regeneration:
Mina heals much faster than a human can. She can heal small wounds in seconds, moderate wounds
in several minutes, severe wounds in hours to days. Near death damage could potentially take several
days to a week to completely heal. She cannot regenerate lost limbs or organs unless they are
somehow re-attached. They will not regrow. This means that decapitation will kill her unless her
head is re-attached. Staking her heart will paralyze her however as it is with true
vampires.
Enhanced Senses:
Mina's senses are far beyond human potential. Her hearing and sense of smell are as good as a
wolf's and her eyesight is slightly better than human potential, perhaps 1.5 times more potent,
allowing her to see further at greater detail. She is also able to see in complete darkness.
Immortality:
Mina no longer ages due to being half-vampire. Her cells regenerate far more efficiently than
human cells do and she inherited enough of Dracula's curse to stop aging. She can die of course,
just not from disease, poison, or age! Toxins, including alcohol are quickly flushed from her body.
Poisons/toxins can slow her down briefly however while her body deals with them. Drowning her will
not kill her as she does not have to breathe.
Immunities:
Mina is immune to traditional vampire weaknesses. While she will never reach the level of power
that a fully turned vampire would, she does not suffer the worst effects of the curse. Garlic, holy
water, and holy symbols have no effect on her. She can walk in sunlight for as long as she wants to
without any problems. As such she doesn't have to sleep during the day!
Skills
Acting:
Mina is a skilled actress due to years of experience working as an agent. She is good at
disuises and deception. She is skilled at making people believe that she is someone else and has
experience in many different roles.
Combat:
While not the greatest fighter in the world, Mina can hold her own, and has well over a century
of experience dealing with violent, or life threatening situations. She knows what to do when she
needs to do it. She can fight off multiple opponents depending on their skill. She has an ecclectic
fighting style, learning a bit from several styles when she can, but she has mostly learned from
experience. She has a preference for relying on her powers as a half-vampire and grabbing a handy
weapon when she can. She knows how to use firearms and will use them as well if she has one at
hand.
Leadership:
Mina is a skilled leader and has served in this capacity many times. She works well under
pressure and is not afraid of making difficult decisions. She will speak her mind and will tell you
what you are doing wrong. She does not hunger for authority but can step into that role if
necessary. She can inspire and lead.
Occult Knowledge:
Mina has researched various occult subjects and is aware of many supernatural or paranormal
creatures, how to deal with them, and fight them if necessary. She is not a practicioner of magic
but is certainly aware of it and she respects what it can do.
Science:
Mina is no physicist, or doctor, however she does have an interest in science, and has
experience in applying scientific knowledge, and scientific method to solving problems. She has
learned whatever she can, and whenever she can, however she can regarding the natural world, and how
it works. Her knowledge is a bit ecclectic and she really has no field of expertise as she has never
studied for a PhD. She simply has a moderate level of knowledge regarding many fields of
science.
Teaching:
Mina was once a school teacher and knows how to teach. She can teach anything that she knows
enough about if need be. She can confidently act as an instructor or teacher in a classroom
setting.
Woman of the World:
Mina has travelled all over the world and is familiar with many other cultures in Africa, China,
the Americas, Western Europe, and Transylvania especially. She is comfortable among people who are
very different from her and has no problem adapting to their social norms when need be.
Resources
Black Dossier:
Mina has kept the journal and history of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. While the other
members of the league are long dead, she retains this dossier, which chronicles the history,
experiences, missions, and the knowledge accumulated by the League while it was active. It is an
invaluable reference as she can call upon knowledge and experience that she has not kept to memory.
It also contains information on all the former members of the League. It also serves as nostalgia
for her as these people were once her friends and colleagues.
Mi5:
Mina worked with MI5 a lot when she was in the League. She built a long standing and valuable
relationship with the British intelligence agency. She is not currently actively working for them
but it is possible that she could recieve their help if appropriate. She would have to go through
the normal channels and procedures to request that aid. Obviously it would have to be an appropriate
and reasonable request. There are limits to what the agency can or will do.
Money Investments:
Mina is not fabulously rich but she has enough knowledge acquired over the years to invest
wisely. This has allowed her to make enough money to operate and live without needing a normal
job.
Weapons:
Mina has a few weapons she keeps. These include a small revolver, two daggers, and an umbrella
with a hidden blade inside at the bottom end that can be released by a button on the side of the
umbrella's handle.
Weaknesses
Bloodlust:
Due to Dracula's curse, Mina must consume blood, and will frenzy at the sight of blood if she is
hungry for it. If she is well fed she will not have any problem around blood. She will of course get
more unstable without feeding and will eventually go berserk until she has fed. While she will not
die from not feeding, such a frenzy is dangerous to fall into, and she could be killed in the
process of someone defending themselves.
Dracula:
One day Dracula might try to find her again. She doesn't want to think about it but it could
happen. She still bears the resemblance of his long dead wife and may still be obsessed with her.
Obviously having the most powerful vampire on the planet being focused on you in such a way would
make anyone terrified!
Ptsd:
Mina has deep psychological wounds associated with vampires. She does not like to be around them
or to talk about them. She especially does not want to hear the name "Dracula" or discuss him
whatsoever. This trauma has caused her to suffer PTSD related to vampires and Dracula. So she tries
to stay as far away from the vampire community of Earth as possible.
Scars:
Mina still bears the scars of Dracula's teeth from when he attempted to turn her into a vampire.
She is self-conscious of her scars and hides them however she can, usually with a scarf, or other
article of clothing.
Vulnerabilities:
While she does not suffer from the traditional vampire weaknesses, Mina can be incapacitated, or
killed obviously. Staking her through the heart will paralyze her, and cutting off her head will
kill her unless it is re-attached quickly so she can heal. And of course while she can resist quite
a bit more damage than a human could, it is certainly possible to kill her with enough force.
