Remo Williams is a martial artist with few peers. He's trained by an old man who happens to be one of the deadliest people on Earth. He doesn't wear a costume or a cape. He looks like a regular guy, if you don't notice that his wrists are as thick as tomato cans. And maybe, just maybe, he might just save the world...

Timeline:
1993: The child who would later become known as Remo Williams is born in Brooklyn, NY.

2011: Graduates high school, and eight days later enlists in the Marines.

2015: Receives an honorable discharge after distinguishing himself in the Marine Corps. He then enrolls at the New York Police Academy.

2018: While working as a cop, he is arrested for killing a drug dealer in cold blood. Overwhelming evidence against him resulted in a conviction and a death sentence.

2019: The execution takes place but it is a fake. He wakes up in Folcroft Sanitarium with a new face, and is given the new name 'Remo Williams' to live under. Remo begins training under the Master of Sinanju, Chiun, and goes to work for CURE under the guise of the "Folcroft Foundation".

2019-2024: Remo and his master, Chiun, reside in New York, moving between cheap hotel rooms and government safehouses, making sure that Chiun gets to watch his soap operas while Remo goes on missions.

Personality

Caring:
Remo has a soft spot for people getting hurt, especially children. Anyone who hurts or takes advantage of someone in Remo's presence better have good health insurance...or life insurance.

Disciplined:
Years of training in Sinanju has made Remo deceptively resolute mentally and physically. He has an unnaturally iron will, coming from years of having to deny himself from such simple pleasures such as alcohol, cheeseburgers and monosodium glutemate.

Likes Things Simple:
Remo's not a fan of technology. He doesn't do TikTok, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Even when he is burdened with a cellphone, it's a simple flip-phone, and rather than change a SIM card, he'd rather destroy the phone abd buy another one.

Liquid Nitrogen For Blood:
When Remo decides that someone is going to die, all that's left to do is pick out a coffin and dig a hole. The funeral will be open-casket; Remo not only leaves a clean corpse. It'll always look like an accident or natural causes. He also knows how to manipulate the pain center of the brain, make it only feel like he's tearing someone's arm out of its socket. And he will do both with a bland expression on his face, like he's plunging a toilet.

Not a Hugger:
Remo doesn't get close to people, since people he tends to get close to have a habit of dying before their time. But that doesn't stop him from wanting to get close to someone, maybe find someone he can actually be with someone who is capable of understanding him without excusing themselves from the conversation in order to call 911....or the National Guard.

Patriot:
Remo has dedicated his life to his country, not those who claim to speak on its behalf. When it comes to a choice where defending the United States is an option, that will be Remo's ONLY option.

Sarcastic:
Remo has a very low tolerance for bullshit, and will take any opportunity to challenge it, recognize it and point it out as caustically as possible.

Vengeful:
To say Remo is not above a painful or crippling lesson is like saying the ocean is not above the clouds in the sky. Remo once reacted to a surfer deliberately kicking down a sand castle he had helped a child built, a child who said that Remo was nice, by confronting the surfer directly. When Remo said that he was being nice and only requested to have the surfer apologize to the child, the surfer's response, "Nice guys finish last," earned him the loss of all the toes on his left foot when Remo relieved the surfer of his surfboard and rammed it into the surfer's left foot. Remo's comment as he walked away from the surfer? "Hang five!"

Body Control:
If Remo is in an environment with a lack of necessary supplies, like food, water, AIR...he has the ability to slow down his body processes to survive those conditions, although he will not be at his full abilities while this is happening. He has such control, he can reduce his vital signs to hold his breath for a very long time, and slow his heart to one heartbeat per minute.

Deadly Hands:
Remo's hands and feet are lethal, should he choose to employ them that way. He can punch and kick with superhuman strength, able to damage metal. His level of mastery of Sinanju hardens his body to where strikes with his fingernails are effectively as hard and sharp as razors.

Perfect Specimen:
His body has been attuned to inhuman levels, making Remo resistant to damage of any kind, able to detect and repel harmful substances used against him (apart from immersion). He does not suffer from extremes of heat or cold, becoming one with his environment.

Sinanju Martial Art:
Sinanju is an ancient Korean martial art, lost in time to all but a few current practitioners. It is from Sinanju training by the master Chiun that Remo's abilities flow. Advanced mastery allows the user to perform a number of feats that are on part with low level superhuman abilities, such as body control, above human-level strength, speed, and agility, and also body hardening.

Speed and Reflexes:
Thanks to his Sinanju training, Remo moves with inhuman speed and agility. His training includes anticipating gunfire and using his speed to dodge away even from point-blank shots. He can dodge single shot or burst fire, but he's still working on full auto. Remo can run at speeds up to 80 mph, swim at speeds of 40 knots, and perform feats of agility that would make him a shoo-in for Olympic gold.

Superhuman Strength:
Sinanju has trained his muscles to move in perfect synchronization. He has above human maximum strength, on par with Captain America.

Animal Handling:
Although Remo doesn't get along with animals that might be inherently hostile, he tries not to do them harm if he can avoid it, and animals that might have a friendly or even neutral disposition are very likely to view him with positive reactions.

Extreme Martial Artist:
Remo has studied under one of the great martial arts masters. Though Remo is far from achieving Master status, he outclasses normal practitioners of martial arts and other fighting styles, and could at least give a challenge to some of the most truly skilled in the fighting arts. He doesn't use guns or other melee weapons, but anything in his hands can be used with deadly intent.

Investigation:
Remo has always had a nose for finding clues, honed while he was a cop, and could've easily made detective if he hadn't been "recruited" by CURE. He's no Sherlock Holmes, but he's able to make connections that give him an edge when it comes to finding out what's going on.

Knows How To Drive:
Although Remo's driver's licenses are fake, his driving skills aren't However, he's not better or worse than the average driver, and he knows how to drive cars. That's it.

Resources

Cure Agent:
CURE is a secret government agency with a murky past. It conducts clandestine operations in situations that legal action is not sufficient. Originally reporting directly to the President, the secret agency was brought under the control of the DEO during the Cold War. The group has mainly been used as a tool for non-metahuman affairs, where their secrecy even from other parts of the DEO was useful in straddling the line of the DEO's mandate.

Remo doesn't exactly have a need or desire for anything but the most basic creature comforts, and doesn't have a lot of hobbies or vices to spend money on. But CURE gives him a practical blank check to cover any mission-related expenses, as well as smaller expenses like food, rent, cab fire or buying replacement phones.

Weaknesses

Dependent: Chiun:
Chiun is possibly one of the deadliest non-superpowered assassins on Earth. He is indeterminately old, has photographic memory of the history of the previous Masters and is wide byond his considerable years. He is also irascibly stubborn, addicted to soap operas, is extremely critical of American culture in general and of Remo in particular, and has some very strong criticisms of Remo's progress in his training, as well as other subjects. He also has some very unusual standards and blind spots (he thinks the lazy, overindulgent people of the village of Sinanju are his responsibility, constantly attempts to marry Remo off to the village women who openly shows Remo a lack of respect, becomes infatuated with highly disagreeable women, the list goes on). Remo can't decide whether he truly likes (and loves) his adoptive parent more than Remo wants to kill Chiun with his bare hands...which usually constitues most of his training.

Finely-Tuned Machine:
Remo is only able to perform the feats and abilities he can because he lives on a VERY strict diet. Some fruits, vegetables, meats, rice. LOTS of rice. Anything that could be considered fast food or loaded with chemicals might as well be poison, since his body cannot handle oils, grease and sugars, and can be seriously impairing, even life-threatening, if it's consumed. Drugs used, even helpful ones, can have either triple the effect or just be poisonous outright. He can't even take aspirin or Pepto-Bismol.

Lack of Tech Know-How:
His inability to understand the nuances of technology that a seven-year-old would be able to use expertly is a common concern. He knows how to send an email to one person, how to use Notepad and how to use a debit card (usually prepaid). He is easily stupefied by tech and has a tendency to destroy tech he doesn't understand out of frustration alone.

Runaway Animal Magnetism:
Remo discovered that the boasts of his master Chiun about the effects of Sinanju when it comes to sexual attraction and performance were not exaggeration. In fact, living with those effects have decreased Remo's interest in such physical intimacy outside of those that he has a strong personal connection with and feelings for. Thankfully, he's found that a daily diet of shark meat seems to diminish the animal magnetism that his martial art otherwise bestows.
