It's been a bit more than a week since the opening game of the football season when the Gotham Knights beat the Starling City Stags which was also the night that inspiration struck Harper Row. Having gotten home she prepared healthy deserts for herself and her brother - mint cookies and cream smoothies - and got a mild electric shock from the repaired blender as she disassembled it.
In the time since she has used all her free time to work on the idea. It took nearly a week of late nights to get a foam mixture of rubber and steel capable of creating a piezoelectric effect upon impact and a nearly equal amount of time to put together a prototype for a portable rail-gun in her room.
She may have lost sleep between that first game of the season and the night of September ninth but when she tested the magnetic accelerators of the rail-gun and the electric bullets she was shocked, even though her tactical vest. Waking the next morning, on the floor, Harper ached but was pleased with the result. Sure, the prototype is too large to be portable, but a success is still a success. Further work will be required but with just a faint bruise between her breasts and a general soreness her gun simply requires smaller components and a proper casing to be effective.
