Profile
Born from the love of an Amazon and a Brizilian god, Yara is a young demigod who had recently grown into her powers. With her mother slain, she had escaped to Boise to be raised as a regular human, but when travelling to brasil, she was picked up to be Hera's champion. Trained by Charon, hunted by Hera after spurning her, she has come to New York to connect with her Themysciran heritage.
Timeline
Timeline:
* 1384 BCE: After granting the Amazons freedom, and they split, one going to Themyscira and the other eventually forming the Bana Mighdall, the Amazon Aella took her leave to go her own way and live in man's world, to have many adventures.
* 1745 CE: Aella arrives in what would become Brazil. There she falls in love with a local god, and goes to live with a tribe of warrior women, who was favored by the goddess Jaci.
* 1999 CE: Yara was born to Aella.
* 1995 CE: The goddess Hera heard rumor that an Amazon in the Amazon rainforests has given birth to a new demigod, and that Zeus was the father. She sends Eros and his companions down to smite her and the child. Eros dutifully goes down and kills Aella, and a large chunk of the Amazonian tribe that she had been living with as they tried to defend her. Upon seeing Yara, Eros realizes that the rumor was false and lets her go. Yara is taken to Boise, Idaho and is adopted by Renata Flor.
* 2017 CE: Yara graduates high school and is accepted into the University of Idaho, majoring in Exercise, Sport, and Health Sciences.
* 2021 CE: Now that she's done with school, Yara decides to take a trip to Brazil to reconnect with her roots. During the tour, she falls into a tributary of the Amazon River, where she is taken down by her namesake Iara, where her powers are awakened and she is gifted her golden bolas.
* 2021-2022 CE: With her awakening, her presence is noted by Hera. Having mistakenly killed her mother, and much of her tribe, she decides to offer Yara a chance to train her and become her champion as a way of apology. Yara accepts. She trains intensely in Olympus with Charon, manages to tame the pegasus Jerry, and master the use of her bolas, swordsmanship and archery.
* 2022 CE: Before she can drink the ambrosia that would bind her to Hera and Olympus, and make her Hera's champion, she learns that Hera and Eros are responsible for the death of her mother. With this new knowledge, Yara declines the to become Hera's champion. Spurned and angry Hera orders Yara's death. Yara manages to fight her way out of Olympus and back to Earth.
* Now: Having returned to Earth, Yara has decided to reconnect with the other part of her heritage, that of the Themysciran Amazons.

Personality
Brash:
Yara is kind of in your face. She'll speak her mind when she wants to, or charge headlong into danger. While she does have an off switch it's rarely flipped.
Helpful:
Yara isn't afraid to help the people she sees who are in need. She's the kind of person who'd leap into a burning building to rescue a kitten.
Justice:
Yara has a strong sense of right and wrong, and isn't shy about acting upon it.
Stubborn:
Once Yara has set her mind on something it takes something of a force of nature to change it.
Character Sheet
Powers
Enhanced Durability:
Another part of the demigod package. While not puncture proof, she can still take quite a beating before succumbing to her injuries.
Enhanced Stamina:
Like the Energizer bunny, she can keep going and going and going for hours at max physical exertion before tiring.
Enhanced Strength:
Part of the standard Demigod package. She's able to easily lift cars and punch with excessive force. She's gone toe to toe with other Olympians and have managed to come out on top.
Immortality:
One of the benefits of being a demigod means that you don't really age, and you don't get sick.
Speed and Reflexes:
While no speedster, she still is able to move and react faster than any human. She's not at the point to where she can deflect bullets with her bracers though.
Skills
Combat Expert:
Yara spent over a year in Olympus (time is fuzzy there) training with the centaur Charon in the arts of war. She is an expert swordswoman and archer. She's had extensive training with her bolas, and in hand to hand combat.
Equestrian:
Yara knows how to ride horses. Even flying ones.
History:
While on Olympus she was taught classical history, especially history in relationship to the Gods of Olympus.
Multilingual:
Yara is fluent in ASL, English, and Portuguese.
Philosophy:
What is a warrior without sharpening their mind? Part of her training on Olympus was to teach classical Greek philosophy.
Physical Therapist:
Yara went to school to become a physical therapist. She hasn't yet had a chance to ply her trade yet.
Resources
Golden Bolas:
Yara received her golden bolas from her namesake, Iara. They're a magical artifact, being nearly unbreakable. They're also are able to produce a high voltage electrical shock.
Jerry:
Jerry is a pegasus that she'd tamed during her time in Olympus. He's very loyal to her, and enjoys carrots a lot.
Olympian Armor:
Stronger than steel and as flexible as leather, Yara has a set of armor forged by Hephaestus himself.
Weaknesses
Criminal Record:
Yara has been arrested for assault and battery, as well as drunk and disorderly. She hasn't had to spend any jail time, but she /has/ had to pay a fee and do some time with community service.
Hera:
So, Yara pissed off Hera well and good, making quite the enemy out of her. This means that she's got a Goddess out for her blood.
Impulsive:
Yara tends to leap before she looks. She'll jump into situations without really thinking about the consequences of it.
Temper:
Yara's biggest flaw is that she has something of a temper, and will go off given the proper provocation.
