A night out!
Date of Scene: 16 February 2022
Location: Astoria Park
Synopsis: Monet and Blake meet for a little chance chat.
Cast of Characters: Blake Riviere, Monet St. Croix

Blake Riviere has posed:
With everything going on in the city, life has been...a little more different and difficult for Blake. Certainly she'd taken on the role of a protector, but the evacuations and invasions have made people a little less ready to go out and party, mingle and otherwise give Blake the means of finding a suitable dining partner. Of course, she wasn't starving to the point of desperate hunger, but it wasn't exactly fitting for the new 'Heroine' to be asking for donations.

Moving into the park, Blake settles herself down the otherwise mostly abandoned park's bench, a sigh escaping her lips.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix is sliding her way into the park as well. She has under an arm an artfully designed thermos of -something- that's of an unusual style of make. Made out of metal that's clearly far too high quality an alloy to be used for something as simple as a travel mug, she would go along with it tucked underneath an arm while going along. She would pass by Blake and pause for a moment, nodding her head with a 'you again' expression of identification.

Blake Riviere has posed:
A familier face, a scent known to her and a presence both known to her in the luxury of the Hellfire Club and the chaos of...well, the world at the moment, Blake lifts a hand lightly in greeting. "Strange to see another braving an evening out at the moment."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would shrug, "The weather is mildly unpleasant. I had some investments in Manhattan that I wished to ensure were secure during the rebuilding process so it was best to go there in person now that annoying lockdown is over."

Blake Riviere has posed:
Blake gives a little chuckle at that, leaning forwards where she sits and nodding her head lightly. "I suppose with things as they are now, it will take some time before people feel 'normal' once more. But it is good to see you again Ms St. Croix, whatever reasons or chance has brought you here."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would shrug, "This is the third global apocalyptic event in the last two years. At least that have attained wide recognition. I would presume that there have been other ones that have not attained such a level of awareness. This seems to be the current norm and current evidence points to only escalation. The citizenry shall adapt. And I hope that you are doing well in return."

Blake Riviere has posed:
Blake Riviere actually laughs a little more honestly, a shrug of her partially bared shoulders even if she glances towards the thermos with a questioning raise of her brow. "I suppose that is one way to look at it. Even those creatures that passed through and attacked people could have been seen as world ending, were it not for actions of ourselves and the flying man."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would nod, "Yes. The onset of multiple extinction level events seems to be escalating." Her tone would be in a light frown on the matter but an honest one. "And we did what parts we could, for better or for ill."

Blake Riviere has posed:
"The sooner people get back to their relaxation and revelry, the sooner I will be happy." Blake muses aloud before exhaling a breath to draw her knees to her chest and then lazily smoothing down her skirt for some semblence of modest. "The people who'd seek out to offer blood to me, outside of those I know, are...not the sorts one would generally choose during better times. Truely, supply shortages all around."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would shrug, "At least until the next inevitable disruption is coming along. If you feel the events disorienting there is no reason that you could not alter your zone of operations to somewhere that has less consistent catastrophies." She would give a nod. "And.. I am sorry for your inability to gather sustenance that is barely appetizing." Why would anyone want food that was not gourmet?

Blake Riviere has posed:
A little quirk of her lips, Blake nods. "Quality is important in most things," she muses, adjusting her position as she sits before closing her eyes with an exhaled breath. "I have been forced to do just that, venture outwards from the city. But I am...fond of certain things here. Much like yourself I have investments and attachments to keep an eye on."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would nod, "I am uncertain as tow hat your long term goals and obligations are, so I feel it inappropraite to give you advise or input in the matter." Blake being one of those apparently seh respected enough to be honest

Blake Riviere has posed:
Blake Riviere chuckles at that, lifting her hands up lightly. "Goals change, long term becomes...longer or shorter depending on your perspective. Especially if how you judge the movement of time."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would nod, "Time is but a mechanism used for definition of experience. Far from a universal. Merely a definition to allow comparison to events."

Blake Riviere has posed:
A glance now, Blake gestures to the thermos with a beckon of her finger, chuckling lightly. "Out for a walk with a nightcap? After all, most people would say things are warming up a little too much to be wandering around with hot beverages...but I suppose it is night and I am...somewhat less vulnerable to the chill of the air."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would shake her head, "Merely something which requires a far more stable method of containment that I wished to attentd to personally in it's retrieval." She would glance about. "I could accompany you for some time if I would not interfere with your feeding prospects."

Blake Riviere has posed:
A grin comes to Blake's lips now, a little chuckle as she uncoils herself with a nod to the talk of containment, but the talk of company has her nodding. "Of course, I doubt it would interfere. After all, I have had success in the past with others at some of our mutual meetings while some were unaware." A little shrug, Blake turns that feline grin toward the other woman while she stands. "Who knows, perhaps you might even find yourself curious sometime."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would shake her head, "No." Her rejection is far, far too quick and a flash of actual anger in her eyes if her body language was read carefully before it would be pushed away. but her tone was flat and final. And anger might be the first acutal emotion that she had made since meeting Blake.

Blake Riviere has posed:
Harsh, fast or not, Blake seems completely unfazed, the flirtation having been almost instinctual and the rejection and anger both passed over as comfortably as a cold breeze. She shrugs her shoulders, making to stretch her arms over her head. "I thank you for this meeting none the less, the company has been appreciated on this otherwise rather empty street."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
The mood would pass and M would nod, "if you are departing then I wish you betterl uck than you have had in your feeding." That bit sincere, the girl seemingly not phased now over that the offer had been dropped.

Blake Riviere has posed:
A little shift, a nod of her head and Blake's form begins to fade out, shadows drifting over her until she was but a shape and a silhouette. A smile on her lips, Blake spreads her arms. "Till our next meeting then, stay safe Monet St. Croix. To better days..."

With that her form drifts away, lost to a fog that creeps in with a swirl and disperses into the night.
