Character Info
Profile
A former bride of a powerful vampiress now out on her own for the last couple of centuries. Adjusting to the modern world, Blake has hit the radar of certain organizations, their knowledge of her requiring the odd 'trade' to keep them from making her immortal life a little more difficult.
Timeline
Timeline:
1675: Born in Europe to aristocracy, Belle Riviere lives among the upper class in a time of war and upheaval, but is kept mostly sheltered from the dangers and lives a relatively happy childhood.
1690: Having been matched to a suitable husband, Belle is sent across Europe east towards Austria. The journey is met with delays and takes nearly a full year to complete.
1692: Having barely met her 'husband' who is off at war, Belle is left to manage at home in the running of his estates and quickly excels at the maneuvering needed to 'play the game' while feining the more demure mask.
1693: Belle Rivere disappears from her estate and is thought kidnapped, taken by the devil himself or to have ran away with some unknown lover. Rumors circulate for months.
1693: Having drawn the eye of a powerful and old vampire for months, Belle Riviere is taken and turned, becoming a vampiress herself and a 'bride'.
1740: As time marches on after decades of hunting and feeding on humans, her maker's 'Thrall' begins to fail on Belle as her own powers begin to develop.
1758: After the attack of a vampire hunter leaves her 'master' weakened and desperate, he attempts to feed on Belle to restore his strength but is overpowered. Belle instead is able to consume her maker and is freed entirely from his influence.
Early 1800's: Belle spends the next few decades travelling and experiencing the world, surviving by moving and keeping to the background as she learns all that she had missed while locked away.
1860: Taking up the identity of 'Blake Riviere', the vampiress travels to America. When the civil war breaks out, Blake works as a nurse, surviving by feeding on travelling soldiers and those near-death.
1900's: Moving around the countryside, at the begining of World War 1 she once again takes on the role of a 'nurse', this time travelling along with the American forces. She does not partake in the fighting, but makes use of her knowledge gained to provide care where she can.
1940's: With the Nazi invasion of her home country, Blake returns to France and joins the resistance against the occupiers. While she partakes in sabotage and other more standard 'tactics', stories move through the german army of a beautiful woman that lures soldiers away into the dark to never be seen again, or of some terrible shadow that kills entire platoons in the night. Blake's activities are discovered and eventually tracked by the Intelligence organizations that would eventually form SHIELD and ARGUS.
1965-current: Blake strikes a deal with SHIELD, working as a 'consultant' under agreement in exchange for assistance in covering up the 'paper trail' of immortal living in the modern age.

Personality
Caring:
While perhaps slightly twisted by time, Blake is herself a caring person. She wasn't willingly turned into a vampire and she very much considers her time as a human special. Even though she requires human beings as 'food', she's still extremely protective and charitable for those close to her.
Immortality can be quite boring and lonely without other people to make it meaningful.
Competitive:
Knowing (or at least believing) that she is stronger, faster, smarter than most humans, Blake's view of her own ability leaves her to be quite competitive when it comes to her shortfalls or when she is 'outmatched' be someone whose abilities excede her own.

Powers
Accelerated Healing:
Like most vampires, Blake can quickly regenerate from any physical damage inflicted on her. Blunt trauma, blades, and even bullets have little effect on her, although they are still as painful as they would be a normal human. Crippling or debilitating injuries take longer to heal from (Likely lasting through the scene they occur) and may require her to feed once more before she can recover fully.
Fangs and Feeding:
Blake has a set of retractable canine fangs classic to a vampire, useful as a weapon for simply biting with her vampire physiology for the feeding she requires to live. With these can drain large amounts of blood in a short time. This bite generates an effect intended to subdue the victim and leave them compliant while she takes her fill. Through enzymes generated after feeding, she is able to 'seal' the bites, preventing her victim from bleeding out if she wishes for them to survive the encounter. Victims of suitable willpower or psychic ability can resist her attempt to drain them, overcoming the 'hypnotic' effect. (OOC consent based power for player characters.)
Mesmerizing:
By meeting the gaze of a victim for a few seconds, Blake can cause them to become mesmerized, rendering them more suggestable and leaving her able to implant hypnotic suggestions or enthralling them for a time, although those with Psychic ability or particularly strong wills may resist this. (OOC: Consent based power!)
Shapeshifting:
Like the classic 'Dracula', Blake possesses the ability to shapeshift, turning herself into a Wolf, a swarm of bats or even into mist. These powers however falter under daylight and thus can only be utilized at night.
Vampire Physiology:
Blake was turned by an ancient vampire centuries ago. This leaves her with an increased resilliance to physical trauma and does not age. She also possesses traits physically superior to an average human, able to lift up to 50 tons with ease and run up to 50 miles per hour. To maintain her existance and these powers however, Blake must consume the blood of another living thing for nourishment.
Vampire Senses:
Blake possesses supernatural levels of senses. She can see in complete darkness, detect blood from dozens of meters away and hear at levels capable of detecting a heartbeat from across a room with suitable concerntration.
Skills
Acrobate Du Beau:
Part of Blake's travels and experiencing the world was spent spending time learning with the acrobats, gymnasts and trapeze artists of a European circus, the travelling lifestyle suiting her needs and desires well. Blake developed great skill in the high-flying art, allowing her to perform impressive feats of acrobatic ability.
Patron of the Arts:
From both her upbringing and her time as an immortal, Blake has become both a supporter and skillful practitioner of Ballet and several musical instruments. She greatly enjoys music and performance, as it serves as both a touchstone of history and a measure of humanity's culture.
Skilled Combatant:
While she has grown to make use of firearms, Blake is well-trained in hand to hand combat as well as the use of knives and other bladed weapons. In a pinch, she can often adapt unconventional fighting styles with an improvised weapon.
Triage and Trauma:
Having lived through the development of modern medicine and worked as a nurse through multiple wars, Atlin has a significant knowledge of trauma and treatment of injury. While she's no specialized surgeon, she's extremely experienced and resourceful when it comes to tending the wounded.

Armory:
Over time and connection, Blake has gathered an impressive collection of weaponry. She possesses both a vast collection of firearms (with a few favorites) as well as knives and other tools of violence.
Contacts:
While just as much a potential hinderance in their knowing of her existance, Blake has contacts within the intelligence community. While she's considered more of an 'asset' than a member of any group, the right calls made to the right people can assist Blake in gaining the occasional piece of information or assistance in covering her tracks now and then.
Wealth and Comforts:
Thanks to her immortality, travels and a little assistance Blake has managed to accumulate enough wealth to keep herself well-equipped and well housed, although she rarely basks in the same wealth and extravagance as the castle she'd once lived in with her fallen master.
Weaknesses
'superior':
Blake is confident, strong and older than most...and she knows it. This can come across at times as seeming a little 'self-superior', talking down to some people easily out of habit, not something that everyone can put up with easily.
Creature of the Night:
While sunlight is not lethal for Blake, it still weakens her greatly; halving her strength and preventing her from shapechanging. Particularly bright and sunny days can be extremely uncomfortable for eyes adapted to seeing in darkness too!
Hunters:
Hunting horrors, tracking badguys and years hunting Nazi's doesn't change the fact that Blake is a vampire herself. While she might have recovered 'herself' eventually, Blake spent years as one of the murderous 'brides' of a very old vampire. For vampire hunters who don't know her, and even for some who do she's another threat or abomination that needs to be destroyed.
The Thirst:
Like any other true vampire, Blake must regularly feed on blood in order to survive. While she can consume 'normal' food fine, only blood provides the nourishment she needs to exist. If she goes too long without feeding this hunger can become overwhelming, running the risk of losing control and feeding on whoever or whatever living thing she can with abandon.
