Synopsis: Diana and Thor speak on the subject of inter-dimensional visitors, and Starports.
Cast of Characters: Thor, Diana Prince

Thor has posed:
There is supposedly this thing known as a standing invitation.
Diana enjoys one for the Asgardian embassy's doors are ever open to her. There is word given to the guards that if she arrives she is to be shown to a place of suitable comfort and informed of the likelihood of her being met by the lord or lady of the house depending on who is in residence at the time. Even quarters available should it so be needed. And, in turn, Thor likely would imagine that such is set for him as well with the Themysciran embassy. Yet he had never thought to check until moments before he entered the front door of the beautifully decorated building.
To be fair he might not be recognized by those in attendance. For he is in his civilian guise which involves the garb of Midgard. The uniform most of its people follow. The black t-shirt. The blue jeans. The white sneakers. His unique taste then expressed in the blue overshirt. There. Disguise.
Which is then lost when he approaches the entrance and addresses whomever he lays eyes on first. "Greetings, could you tell Princess Diana, Thor would have words with her?"
Perhaps that will end with him conducted to her presence.

Diana Prince has posed:
It's a lovely quiet Sunday afternoon at the Themysciran Embassy too. There had been a school visiting this afternoon in fact, and there had been a nice little party out in the courtyard. That was all wrapped up now, and Diana was coming inside after Thor checked in with Greta CAndy, grand daughter to Diana's first friend after leaving her homeland a hundred years ago....

Today, Diana is wearing a blue dress, royal blue in fact. Her hair is up in a bun, her lips are painted in red, and she's wearing gold adornments on her ears, neck, and wrists. Her dark blue heels click quietly on the polished stone floors of the embassy as she makes her way down the main hallway.

She smiles upon seeing him, and walks toward him then to offer a hug. "A surprise drop in. How pleasant." Diana says in her smoky hued voice.

Thor has posed:
"Spur of the moment," Thor says as he advances upon Diana moving for the oh so brief embrace that ends with a hand on her shoulder as he meets her gaze and gives her a look over. "Beautiful as ever, and such finery. I must be interrupting." He says, though likely hoping it is not so.
He looks around briefly as he takes a deep breath and then returns his gaze to her. "I had been given reason for my thoughts to wander, and they turned in part toward yourself."
A pause as his lip curls up slightly, "Or perhaps more accurate to say turned to what you have been working on. The starport, but perhaps not the starport in particular. But the effort behind it."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana shows a warm smile at his compliment toward her appearance. He was ever the gentleman, no matter what the rumors may say! A quick glance down at herself, and then Diana raises her eyes back up to his. She shakes her head then, a quick look shot over her shoulder. "We had visitors, but they have gone now." She tells him as she looks once more upon him. "Much cake was devoured, much ice cream was enjoyed. Much stories of heroics, and what it means to fight for what you love, were shared." She says in a playful tone.

"And so you have been boredly day dreaming, have you?" She teases him. "Come, we can walk, maybe there's some cake left that which you might enjoy also?" She asks then with a glimmer of a grin. "Tell me what is on your mind?" She inquires as she turns to the main hallway once more, that goes beneath that split curving staircases.

Thor has posed:
"Ah, I am sure those visitors departed with full bellies and eyes filled with dreams." Thor says easily enough, lip curved upward as he starts to walk at her behest, falling into step beside her and following her lead. He strides along at an even pace, and even in such brilliant disguise it is hard not to see the man as he is with such a purposeful gait.
"Not so much bored, reflecting on my experiences of late." He chides with a slight raise of a finger, as if it were a crime to describe him as bored.
"As to what entered my thoughts, in the recent past I've dealt with sojourners from the other realms. Wanderers and travelers walking through where the worlds are thing, passing from one point to another and entering Midgard. And I know that the starport is so that alien visitors can congregate and enter Midgard with some measure of safety and acclimation. It got me to thinking, what of these visitors who are alien the same but arrive here from another... dimension or plane or what have you?"

Diana Prince has posed:
The two walk side by side down the hallway toward the courtyard doors up ahead. The daylight from outside is shining on the hardwood floors of the hallway as they draw closer to it. While he talks, Diana looks over at him and seems a bit surprised at the last bit there about the Starport.

She looks forward again then as the double doors to the courtyard open up, and a pair of assistants venture inside with some of the food under cover of trays.

"I had never considered that..." Diana admits to Thor then as she looks back to him. "That is a wise idea. People from other ... realities, should go to the Starport. But, I suppose the trouble would be finding a way for them to suddenly end up there, knowing that it was the proper gateway to meeting the people of our world. Mmmmh...." Diana laces her fingers together as the two assistants walk by, both of them smiling to Thor and the Princess as they go toward the kitchen doorway.

"You are right though, the concept itself is a good one. Though, in my experience with people from other realities, they... arrive in such random places... Such different ways."

Thor has posed:
A nod is given, "What moved me to these thoughts was I almost came to blows with a visitor, a Fire Giant from Muspelheim." Thor spreads his hands as he walks, as if trying to offer the right words for a full explanation and they were slipping away from him partially. "He was rough and rude, bullied an older man. But if it weren't for chance at play I wouldn't have known he was there merely to visit his niece."
Shaking his head Thor continues on their small walk, though he does pause and his face transforms into a gentle smile meant for those assistants wandering by. Then it's back to the conversation at hand, "So I do not know if it is feasible to work some mysticism and create a connection with the Starport for these travelers. That might well be a monumental undertaking considering the breadth of places they could come from."
He looks ahead, brow knitting as his thoughts distance him for a moment. Then sidelong he adds, "I had thought to speak to the good Doctor Strange, and get his thoughts. Perhaps if there was a way we could sense such openings or the like before they happen. Provide proper greeting?"
But then he shrugs, "In any case, it is to you that I come with his first."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana pauses their walking in the threshold of the double doors that lead outside, a nice warm breeze from the courtyard flowing over them in to the home now. She looks outside, then over at him as he speaks on this subject. She seems to be considering the ins and outs of it, at least the initial thoughts.

"It does seem like a big task, to even inform such people when they do arrive. But I would imagine, that if anyone could predict it, or even feel it when it happens, it would be Stephen Strange." She says with a small smirk.

Diana motions him to follow her outside then, and soon they are on the walkway that surrounds the courtyard, but is still shaded by the balcony level above their heads. Diana leads Thor to a table, where there is a selection of comfortable chairs, and some arrangements already laid out for the day upon the table's glass top surface.

"If there were a way to shunt new arrivals to the Starport, I would enjoy that. But, at the same time... I would not enjoy it if they were hostile arrivals." She says wit a smirk toward him as she takes a seat at the table upon one of the chairs, a server approaching them to smile and ask how they would like to be served. "Tea?" Diana asks of Thor. "Cake?" She adds with a grin.

Thor has posed:
"I do not..." There's a pause, then he leans forward as he takes a seat, carefully on one of the sturdier of chairs as he finishes, "I rarely drink tea." So he takes up the cup though he waves off the offering of cake. A dainty sip is taken, then he sets it down in its saucer as he eases to the side, taking a deep breath and enjoying the outside with a small smile.
Once settled then it's back to the conversation at hand, "So aye, I had thought to talk over with him about such. But I would have your thoughts on it first at hand. For I know that if a thought occurs to me about the Starport or the like chances are you've already had it!"
His smile slips a little wry then he takes another sip of tea. "Though it could also just be an excuse to visit. I find it is rare I get out here." He looks around the fine setting, perhaps meaning this part of New York. Or the embassy. Or simply in her presence.

Diana Prince has posed:
The Princess accepts her tea with a smile for the server. "Thank you, Lily." Diana tells the young woman who seems to be very smitten with Thor, giving him 'the eyes' and 'the smiles' as she'd served him too. She steps away then back toward the others loitering around in the courtyard picking up the various party items that were clearly geared toward young ones.

After a sip of her own drink, Diana sets it down on the table and looks over to Thor again. She shows him another soft smile as she forms more to say within her mind. She draws in a breath then. "I might be growing jaded, but I fear for the safety of the starport from nefarious intruders, who could arrive... potentially... without proper preamble. One of the benefits of where the Starport is, is that it yields our observers quite a lot of time to view an arriving starship... Or at least it has thus far. If we invited, or even somehow forced, arrivals from other realities to 'show up' at the Starport... Mmmh, it could bode badly for security."

Thor has posed:
And Thor, poor Thor, unaware at the moment as his mind is focused on the conversation. He lifts those blue eyes and gives a warm smile to the server as he tells her, "Thank you, it's exceptional." A quick glance that could easily be construed into a brief moment of heartfelt kinship.
Then he is looking back to Diana, "Aye, if it somehow was a power that shunted the arrival of any being from another realm you could encounter a hostile group or the like."
One hand lifts to rub his thumb at the line of his jaw thoughtfully. "It would require defenses of a sort, which also might be a step in the wrong direction. Then again..."
A deep breath is taken, "We had a Troll war party that arrived to kidnap a guest who was staying at the embassy." His brow furrows then he shakes his head, "Ragnar Ufdensen now dines in Valhalla because of their villainy. So we end up facing these enemies. It is perhaps more a matter of where. And how ready we are."

Diana Prince has posed:
A few more servers carry some of the smaller child-sized chairs folded up back inside the Embassy as they take them back to where they are stored. Diana looks back to Thor then and tilts her head toward him. "I hope everyone was all right after such a thing. That sounds... horrible." She quietly notes before sighing again. "But I fear that such early warnings for arrivals of that nature, may be beyond anyone's ability. Look at the doppleganger situation of two years ago... We were barely able to see foe from friend. Myself included." Diana notes, since she was one of the people targeted by a alternate version of Cassie who wanted Diana dead, and very nearly achieved it, leaving the Princess in a coma for nearly three months.

"If you do speak to Stephen about this, I would be curious as to what he tells you. But if it even is a thing that can be done, we might want to design a facility specifically for it. Incase whatever is arriving... is not of the friendly variety...."

Thor has posed:
A nod is given, "As always you have he right of it." Thor says as he takes another delicate sip of tea. His eyes drift to somewhere past Diana, then he shakes his head as his attention returns to her. "But, that is what has brought me to your door step."
A look around is given as he takes in the sight of the embassy and the lovely natural venue, "It is nice what you have done with the embassy. I keep thinking we should do more at ours, but it can be difficult with Loki lurking around now and again."
He looks back and seems about to say something further, but instead does not. More perhaps changes the angle of approach. "Though now here I have been speaking all of my concerns and being a horrible guest. Tell me what passes for you? When does the Starport fully open?"

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana shows a light smile at this from him. She gives a quick look about before returning her eyes toward him. "The site that you chose for the Asgardian Embassy is quite beautiful, but far larger than anything I desired for ours. I wanted something a bit more cozy... Though I was pushed to this, even larger than I desired." She smirks then softly.

Another sip of her drink is taken, as she considers what he asks, before lowering it again.

"The Queen is expected to stay here soon. I do not know how much 'wandering' she would wish to do, but if she is up for it, I would love to take her to see your Embassy, and enjoy a bit of your culture while she is here. It will be the first of many visits from her, especially once our teleportation system is hopefully functional."

Another breath is taken and Diana just shakes her head lightly. "We are mostly finished with the public facing side of the Starport, but we are still working on the team rotundas, and once we get members from each team to review them, we might have to make some adjustments. But, things are progressing quite well, so I would imagine it will be fully open by year's end... Maybe even before this fall. We shall see." She says with a sly grin.

"From there? Perhaps we'll build another on the Moon... Then to Mars."

Thor has posed:
"Of course," Is Thor's instant reply, if Diana is so welcome to the embassy then her mother shall enjoy all it has to offer. He nods in agreement with the Princess.
Then he listens and nods along with being told as to the state of he Starport. He draws his lower lip into his mouth and chews on it for a time as he considers, then quirks an eyebrow. "Do be so good as to let me know when? I imagine there will be a function of some sort and it would be good to have a fair number of us in attendance."
If only for security reasons, might well be his thinking.
"Another on the moon, or Mars?" His eyebrows rise, "Does your teammate seem amenable to such? The green fellow."

Diana Prince has posed:
The question about Mars has Diana lightly laughing at the idea. She shakes her head side to side then. "I haven't broached the subject with him as of yet." She says as her eyes look back out to the well cultivated yard. "I would imagine I could convince him though." She adds as she looks back to Thor across from her, and smiles brightly at him.

"I am pushing for more beyond that too. I want ... Earth having installations at every solar body in the star system. I want the whole of the Sol System itself, to become truly part of mankind's reach. this is our home, afterall. I feel there is plenty here for us to learn from, to grow as a people, and establish a better tomorrow for everyone. Obviously not all planet's can support a base, but we could have science station's in orbit, or ... who knows. But, I feel it is time, time to spread our wings, as a people..."

Thor has posed:
"Ah, difficult. Remember what that Sinestro fellow said?" Thor gestures with the tea cup. A gesture that is usually much more effective with a mug or flagon. "Taking ones place can be seen as expansionism by some."
A look to the side, then he looks back. "My father felt that extending Asgard's influence to he Nine Realms was us taking our place. Giving our protection, yet we still reap the backlash from those efforts to this day."
A pause as his eyebrows rise, "Though, in fairness, every one of the nine realms would have likely suffered greatly were it not for his efforts. Warlike though they may have seemed."
That said he then sips and adds, "Though as I argued against him it seems as if the other predatory cultures in space need no excuse to prey upon Midgard. For how many times have we seen these invasions? Too many. And all defeated handily."

Diana Prince has posed:
The talk of expansionism has Diana showing a brief smile that comes and goes quite quickly. She nods softly to that though. "There will always be people to challenge such things. But humanity has always spread further over time. It is the way of a society, and as you say, we have been attacked many times now by those from afar. We need to have a better footing within our home solar system. I will certainly understand those who see differently... and will never go in to any of this without great care for where we are headed. But..."

Diana exhales, raises her tea up for another sip, and gives another glance to the people walking about within the yard. "Earth cannot be the only home to Humanity. There may be a fight upon its surface that we cannot push back, as well as we might wish." She states more grimly as she looks upon him again.

"We need to have more than just one bastion of our people within our home system, all working together, united, for mankind."
