Cast of Characters: Mercy Thompson, Kara Danvers

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy is almost never out near her place this late, especially on a Sunday. But she had a lot of paperwork to catch up on, especially after loosing a half day earlier this week. She closed the safe with the weeks' receipts and has a check that came in the mail to pay her back some. It's only a few blocks from her shop to drop off the bags for deposit. She's tired and not paying attention, all the senses in the world don't help you if you don't listen to them.
The slim woman is walking along unaware of the four guys following her downwind until she nears the alley. That's when their last guy calls out from the alley nearby, "Hey you got a light?" Mercy stops and looks over and notices the four other guys. "Crap," she says.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Supergirl has been stopping by New York City of late, helping to train Monet in aerial combat. It's shortly after one of those sessions that she happens to see the situation below. From high over the buildings, she slows to a hover, looking down to the city below her as she considers. It might be nothing. Better to watch so far."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
The guys all try to form a half circle around Mercy as they work to peer pressure her into alley. "Sorry, I don't smoke. Stink of it burns the sense of smell badly." Shifting her grip a bit tighter on her deposit bag.
"Aww don't be like that baby girl. We just want to be friends." The leader taunts as he nods his head. One of the other guy then pushes at Mercy to try and force her into the alley. She twist though to keep her balance and only gives a half step into the private area.
"Back off," snaps Mercy. "This macho bull doesn't fly with me. I've seen better then you guys can ever do. My god you guys reek." Rubbing at her nose with a hand as she tries to keep them all in view.
"That isn't nice." One of the guys says, and another rolls his shoulders. "Why don't we show her what happens to girls with big mouths." The goon squad nodding his head in agreement as they start to push her more toward the alley and to avoid getting grabbed, Mercy has to scoot away, dropping into a more combat ready stance.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Okay. Nope. So much for not-being-nothing. Supergirl switches off her hovering, letting herself drop. Sure, you could do the three-point superhero landing, but when you're her level of invulnerable, you don't need to do that. That implies needing to absorb the shock. And well...she doesn't. She lands between Mercy and the men, and puts a hand on her hip. "Do the smart thing, boys." The "S" shield does most of the work with petty thieves, generally.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy was already trying to think on how to slip and escape. Suddenly there's another player on the field and it's a cute blonde girl. The guys are all looking a lot more spooked and looking ready to run. One of them does peel off and start to brisk walk away. Their leader sensing the situation shifting he steps up right toward Supergirl and throws a punch right at the blonde's jaw.
Mercy is reflexively stepping up, "Don't!" Stupid reflexes going faster then normal, and she does move faster then the other guys expected. This shifts the position to say the least.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Supergirl, for her part, doesn't even bother to move. She lets him hit her; it's going to feel pretty much like punching a wall, so he can reap the benefits of THAT bad decision. She looks over her shoulder a minute later to Mercy. "You might want to stand behind me, for a minute." Just in case they start shooting. Though she expects she could deal with that. "Go on, guys. Seriously. I'm giving you the chance to run. If you make me get involved, you're going to jail. You know that."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
The leader's hand just STOPS as it hits Kara's cheek and then kind of bends. It's not bent like a bad horror film, but that doesn't stop Mercy from hearing the fractures that happen in the guy's hand as she winces. Their leader is busy holding his arm and using words you don't use in the presence of ladies. The rest of the goons are starting to leave as one says, "no easy payday is worth this man. I'm outta here."
What once was five is now down to three. Well two and a half. The two loyal ones are looking unsure as they back up their boss. Mercy goes to shift around the guys but the motion gets attention as he tries to throw a punch at Mercy. Even as thug two goes to try and grab at Kara, "I'm gonna enjoy this!" His grin and eyes looking very inappropriate at Supergirl's body.
The guy who's going for Mercy finds her not there, and that she's not totally helpless as the mechanic has twisted with a quick block. She throws a fast counter punch right at the man's floating rib. Kara's hearing will pick up the clear SNAP of one of those ribs. The smaller woman can hit harder then she looks.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Supergirl smiles as Mercy breaks the arm of one, and she even lets the thug get a grapple on her a moment. "All right. I warned you." She reaches out, and just removes his hand from her person, moving it away, and then "blows him a kiss", as she gives a brief burst of superbreath at thug two to knock him back into the wall.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
By now the leader has recovered and is seeing his group leaving or getting taken out. He is cradling that hurt arm. He turns and just in time ducks as Supergirl blows the would be accoster across the alley and into the brick wall. He bounces off it, the wind blown out of him and drops to the ground. Far as Mercy and the other guy goes, the woman is now moving to be a bit behind Kara as suggested.
The last guy who took the hit from Mercy reaches over to grab at the leader and help him. The pair of them trying to limp out of the alley. Neither of them looking back for the third guy gasping against the alley wall. They're clearly done with fighting at this time. Mercy stays quiet until they are both gone.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Supergirl turns back to Mercy, smiling reassuringly. "Hey there, you all right?" she asks. Her eyes quickly flick up and down Mercy, as she makes sure the other woman doesn't have any injuries. "Sorry those jerks tried to ruin your night."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Well looking Mercy up and down is going to reveal a fair bit to Kara. Fist off there are all the tattoos that Mercy has. There's the coyote paw print on the navel, her arms have a fair bit of detailed art covering them as well. The woman has a few scars as well. Some at the neck, there's a series of pock mark scars on her left butt and lower back. If Kara's eyes are really sharp she'll even see some odd looking hair, fur really, on some of Mercy's clothes. Some of it is cat hair, but there's other stuff too.
"Yeah I am," says Mercy with a grin. "Thanks to you. I maybe could have hurt one and run away, but that doesn't mean I'd be unscathed." Mercy is picking up her own details about Supergirl now that the danger is over. "It's my own fault for being dumb about a bank bag on a Sunday." Mercy grins and says, "I got to ask you something. If you don't mind that?" She motions out of the alley toward the bank. If Kara is willing to walk and talk briefly.

Kara Danvers has posed:
"Well, I'm glad I was in the neighborhood. Want me to make sure you get to the bank all right?" Supergirl offers, as she looks back to the other woman. "What did you want to ask?" It's more or less permission to ask away.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"Love some company. Two big time celebrities in a week. My luck must be turning." She starts to walk with Supergirl. "My name is Mercy by the way. And I wanted to ask this." She pauses for dramatic effect. "Does that outfit have some hidden pockets? I can't go anywhere without at least a pocket. Case in point." She pulls out a clean cloth from her back pocket and offers it over. "The guy didn't hurt your cheek, but he smudged some dirt there." Mercy taps her chin in spot indicated.

Kara Danvers has posed:
"Who's the other one?" Supergirl asks, curiously. "And it's nice to meet you, Mercy. I'm Supergirl. No pockets in this suit, unfortunately. Really, where would I put them?" She smiles at the clean-of-smudge. "Thank you." She swishes her cape a little. "I can always desmudge there, if I need to."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"Spider-man thought I was maybe going to rob a junkyard in Queens. Nice guy, recommended a good sandwich shop." Mercy is taking an easy normal pace. "I don't know about the pockets. Lining in the skirt maybe? But not a lot of loose places in your... uniform." Mercy hesitates about calling it a costume, that feels unkind or something. She will tuck her little pocket hanky when it isn't needed anymore. "I am thankful for the help by the way. I may get a purple belt in my dojo but numbers can be a bit of a problem. So you're not normally around here right?" The bank is only a few blocks ahead of them.

Kara Danvers has posed:
"Why...would he think you were going to rob a junkyard?" Supergirl asks, bemused. "And no, not a lot of loose pieces. I think if I put anything in a pocket in the skirt it would make it hang weird." She pauses, and then adds "Women's fashion, right? Not even superheroes get pockets?" She gestures to have Mercy follow her. "Not usually. Metropolis is my usual place, but I've been helping a friend out here in New York lately."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"I was peering through the fence when it was closed. He was just curious about what I was up to." Mercy shrugs a shoulder at that however like it was no big thing. "Got to admit, I had not thought of that about the way it hang. Would probably feel weird when flying as well." She can't help but smile at Kara's quip and says, "I know right? I'm someone who likes my clothes easy to get on and off too. But purses are so annoying I almost never have one. But you can't put everything in pockets always. Luckily my job gives me an out on a lot of that." Holding up the bank bag that has the bank's name and Mercy's Garage on it as they near the wall deposit. The kind that takes a key to just open. "Hope the smell of grease isn't too hard on any super nose you may have." Mercy works hard on that, but only so much you can do before a full shower.

Kara Danvers has posed:
The Girl of Steel nods. "I have superspeed, so it helps me deal with getting to and from my things. And thankfully, scent is about the only supersense I /don't/ have. Hearing and vision, definitely." She offers. She's still keeping an eye out for any trouble as Mercy makes her deposit.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"That must be a real relief." Somehow Mercy sounds like she is speaking from experience. "I can only imagine the things you would have had to endure if you had super-scent." With Kara around there really isn't going to be any trouble for Mercy. Mind you there are a lot more cell phone pictures going on and people following them. Mercy is glancing at that looking uncomfortable. "I couldn't live your life, Supergirl. All that attention would make my skin itch." She is quick to get the keys out and be ready to slip them in. Sharp eyes may notice among all the keys a mechanic shop owner would have there's a blue one that sticks out just a little bit. She looks like she wants to say or ask something, but just sets her brow and scowls rather then voice it. Kara's ears can pick up the other woman's heart beating faster, and maybe see that slight flush to the skin one can get before any sweats break out.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara can hear her heartbeat, and frowns. "Everything all right?" She doesn't want to be nosy, but the other woman had a little bit of trauma; better to make sure she's all right. "Did you want to talk to the police, about earlier?" she offers.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"Police?" The heartbeat picks up as Mercy turns to look at Kara. "OH! For that? Hell no. It's fine. I'll put the word out with the locals, but I rather not talk to cops. They ask more questions and don't always care about doing things 'right' you know?" She shakes her head then as Mercy says, "Not used to the attention and generally like my 'nobody privacy' so this is new to me." She will unlock the bank deposit door and start to drop in the bags for the week into it. She pauses to listen to be sure she hears them all drop down to the safe below. Counting the thumbs as they do so before she takes her key out. "I appreciate the thought though and walking me to the bank. I always seem to attract trouble."

Kara Danvers has posed:
"I'll get out of your hair, then. The longer I'm here, the more attention you're going to get." Supergirl smiles, and then she takes off, shooting skywards as she returns to her original path back towards Metropolis. All in a day for the Girl of Steel.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy isn't quiet fast enough to talk as Supergirl flies way, "Wha... oh." She looks around and then before people can come up to talk to her, Mercy breaks off in a run. Using Supergirl's take off as a distraction, "damn it Mercy. You know better."
