Cast of Characters: Patience Alperen, Glorianna Silver

Patience Alperen has posed:
The continued communication with Glorianna, the mutual attempts to understand and learn about each other and the Artifacts they both possess has been no little bit stressful for Patience. To her mind there is a lot at stake and even more to lose if things go wrong. But she is not willing to succumb to fear and isolation.

She'd sent a text to Glorianna inviting her over for an evening to continue talking. If any of this was to work they needed to work through everything together.

She'd offered coffee or wine, and pastries from the amazing French bakery just around the corner from her building. Buttery Croissants, some filled with chocolate, and the most sinful of the bunch, cronuts; deep fried, sweet glazed and chocolate drizzled. Those were her personal favorite truth be told. A guilty pleasure.

When Glori knocked on her door, Patience answered. "Glorianna. Hi..." She smiles, "Come in, please?" She backed up to make room.

Glorianna Silver has posed:
Glorianna Silver has been enjoying the visits with Patience. It's lonely at the top in the business world, and it's been too long since she felt comfortable sharing with anyone. Besides, she enjoyed the company. Yes, especially the company.

Tonight was to be coffee and pastries. Glori is still a little tenuous about getting drunk while wearing the Ember Stone. One successful event isn't cause to make a habit out of it.

Returning Patience's smile, Glori steps inside and greets with a light kiss and a warm embrace. "Good to see you again, Patience. I'm looking forward to sampling from this bakery you've been telling me about."

Patience Alperen has posed:
Patience Alperen couldn't refute the idea of just coffee. She was of a similar mindset.

She closed the door and turned to offer Glori a hug. Then she leads the way into the eat-in kitchen. Her place is modern and clean. A large open floor plan with views that take in the city skyline from a dozen or so floors up, even offering a glimpse of the southern corner of Centra Park.

She smiles, "Well I hope they live up to my promises. Of course I'm partial." She moves to pour the coffee. "Cream? Sugar? I've other sweeteners if you prefer?"

Glorianna Silver has posed:
"Black is fine, please." Gloriana replies. She is dressed casually in jeans, pumps, and a silk blouse. All top-end designer stuff, of course. Taking a look around as she walks in, the redhead nods approvingly. "And I'm sure I won't be disappointed."

There's that smile again. Heat fueled by the Ember Stone, or something.

Glorianna settles at the kitchen table, crossing one leg over the other. "You'll have to tell me more about what you -do-, Patience."

Patience Alperen has posed:
Patience Alperen sets the cup in reach of Glori and laughs softly, "I take mine just this side of syrup I have been told." Plenty of cream and sweetner. At least it's zero calories!

She's dressed casually herself in an gray oversized Led Zepplin logo tee over loose fitting shorts and she's barefoot. It seems like she feels far more herself in her own place.

Sipping her coffee, she pauses to set out the pastries on a plate "The Cronuts are my favorites.." She offers. There is also butter and jam for the plain croissants if desired.

"What I do?" She laughs softly. "Well, that is a bit of thing to get into, itself." She sits and tucks her right leg under herself.

"I.." She casts a glance to Glori, "am well? A professional monster hunter in the simplest of terms. Vampires. Shapeshifters. Demons. Possessed mortals... I've gone after them all in the name of The Church." She pauses there to let that be absorbed.

Glorianna Silver has posed:
Glorianna Silver tucks one leg up as well, reaching down to remove her shoes one at a time first. Taking a slow sip, she lets her hand hover lightly over the pastry plate before selecting one. It's well-adorned with garnish and glaze.

Taking a bite, Glori lifts a brow at the response. "You hunt monsters for The Church." she repeats, mouth twitching into a bit of a smile. "I hope dragons aren't on your list. Or mortals wearing semi-sentient jewelry that's always in a bad mood."

Considering Patience for a moment, she asks. "So does that mean you're like a nun or something? Because that would be a hard sell to me."

Patience Alperen has posed:
Patience Alperen laughs quietly. "Yes. And no." She takes one of the cronuts as well. She sets it on her plate to continue explaining first. "So. Here's the head trippy part of where I take any preconceptions you might have of the Christian Church and potentially turn them on their ear."

Taking a deep breath she continues, "I am the granddaughter many generations decended from Mary Magdaline and Jesus of Nazareth." She watches for what she anticipates as the response. "Whatever anyone believes about him, there is power in the bloodline. It allows me to do.. things that the typical person could not. An Agent's role was created early in the Catholic Church for one woman from each generation of that bloodline to serve as a warrior against evil. I am this generations Magdalena. But... I've also broken off from the Church. For a number of reasons."

Glorianna Silver has posed:
Glorianna Silver pauses with the coffee cup midway to her lips, holding for a moment. "Wait a moment... " She processes the names, blinks, then sets her coffee down altogether. Glori stares, then she chuckles.

"I shouldn't be surprised, really. After all, we have both learned respect for the supernatural." She picks up her pastry and takes a bite, leaning back a little. "So you've broken off from the church, but you're still this generation's Magdalena. I won't ask how that works, but I stopped going to church a long time ago."
