Jade Nguyen has posed:
It's just another work day, and Jade finds herself in Central Park. She is dressed professionally in a gray pinstripe business suit, heels, and a jacket over a green silk blouse. Her dark hair is pulled back into a neat bun, held in place with a pair of enameled chopsticks.

Sitting on a park bench, she works carefully on a chilidog with a large drink resting beside her.

Artemis Crock has posed:
Last night was a riot. Her first trip to New York was marked with an explosive night club scene complete with loud music and louder outfits. But of course she wasn't there to socialize, even if the cute flirty mutant with the red-white hair had her attention. Things had rapidly morphed into a rather intense life and death battle..

Fortunately she had help..But then the ringleader had escaped and with her, answers to Artemis' many questions about her past. Wary of trusting a more or less stranger with her deepest secrets, Artemis had opted to flee the scene, striking out into the big city on her own.

Shortly after she had been turned around by a violent thunderstorm and spent the night huddled freezing cold and drenched in a park bench. Happily , the next morning was warm and dry, but she still looks rather rumpled and drenched in her black goth mini dress as she wanders about aimlessly. Thankfully her backpack has protected most of her other clothes and supplies. Now if she could find a proper hotel or something. A shower would be nice..

Jade Nguyen has posed:
Jade Nguyen always keeps an eye out, even when she's playing a role. But this time when something catches her eye, the woman freezes mid-bite. Rumpled and wandering goth girls aren't uncommon in New York, but this one looks entirely too familiar.

It can't be. After seven, long years...

The woman in the business suit might bear some resemblance to the teenager that Artie trained with all those long years ago. They've both matured, although their paths diverged significantly.

As the bedraggled teen in the minidress wanders close, Jade speaks. Her voice is soft, and she uses the same Vietnamese that they both spoke during training all those years ago.

<Are you lost, young one?>

Artemis Crock has posed:
Artemis Crock seems lost in her own thoughts as she wanders about, vivid memories of the dashing stranger who helped her fend off baddies and save the day still dancing in her head..Why had she turned down his offer of help? And now she's lost, wandering aimlessly..That is, until she hears an all-too familiar voice, that has her stopping in her tracks.

"What...? Who..?" dark eyes peer around warily then pause on the woman. And she gasps! frozen on the spot. "Who....? Have we..Met before?" seven years is a long time, too long. But so,etching about her..

Jade Nguyen has posed:
Now that the girl turns and speaks, Jade does recognize her. The mannerisms, the movements, the way she carries herself. She carefully sets the chilidog down and rises smoothly, using only her legs to stand. The heels and suit, hair and makeup are an excellent disguise for the untrained.

But there is something about the woman's stance, both casual and ready... just they way they were both taught. When Jade replies she keeps with the conversational Vietnamese.

<Have we? Perhaps so or perhaps not. If so, then time has changed us both. But the years have been kind to you, little one. It has been seven years, has it not?>

Artemis Crock has posed:
Artemis Crock studies the woman at length, Something about her voice, the way she moves that gives her away..Some things never change. They did train together for several years Afterall. And then when she switches effortlessly to Vietnamese, that's a dead give away.
Artemis gasps, taking a step towards her, heart thumping unsteadily. Afterall this time, could it be...? <Jade..? Sis, it it really..You..?>

Jade Nguyen has posed:
Jade Nguyen's demeanor relaxes noticeably when Artie switches to Vietnamese. <It is both pleasant and agreeable to see you again, my Sister.> That was how their combat master taught them to address each other after all, as sisters in arms.

Jade extends her hands and takes a step closer as well. And that is when all formality melts away. Artemis may have taken the first step, but it is Jade who closes the distance and offers the embrace.

Her perfume has a light, floral aroma with a hint of jasmine.

<You smell like you have been camping.>

Artemis Crock has posed:
Artemis Crock sighs, her voice wavering a bit. Life has been harsh. She left her father, then her mom went to jail..Jade left to get married..But now she's back. Maybe not all hope is lost. <Sis! It's really you! I'm sooo happy...I missed you Soo much! So much..Has happened..> she falters a bit in her words, uncertain of how much she should reveal. They were trained to be villains, assassins, Afterall..

Even so, the hug is welcomed, and she sighs softly, hugging her tightly, relieved. Ah that perfume. How..Nice. She smiles. <Wow, you're all grown up. Never seen you in a suit before. You look good. You doing well for yourself? Heh, I'll bet you're some fancy manager or something huh?>

Jade Nguyen has posed:
Jade Nguyen settles into the warmth of the embrace as well, with a similar rush of thoughts and emotions. She left to get married, but now she is a widow as well as a notorious, and highly lucrative assassin.

<I have missed you as well, Little Sister. So much indeed, and so much to tell.> Too much to tell, actually, and certainly not in the middle of a public park.

<Here is the key to my apartment, along with some money for a cab. Relax, make yourself comfortable, and we will talk over dinner when I get home tonight. I actually have to get back to work shortly. I'm temping at a software company called Microfirm.>

Is this meeting a coincidence? Jade can't afford to take any chances, and the best way to make sure is to keep Artie close. As for Microfirm, yes, she is still working there. After all, it simply wouldn't do for the new temp to quit right after the whole board of executives suddenly died.
