Jade Nguyen is a skilled assassin and mercenary for hire who goes by the alias Cheshire. Cheshire is infamous for her vast knowledge and proficiency with poisons, as well as her willingness to use them. In the mercenary community, Cheshire is known to work best alone and has some history of issues with teams.

While Cheshire has a professional reputation, almost nothing is known of Jade Nguyen. She prefers to keep it that way.

Timeline:
1999: Jade Nguyen is born in a small village near Ho Chi Minh City. Her mother (Anna Nguyen) was Vietnamese and her father was an unknown Frenchman.

2007: During a visit to Madripoor, Jade is stolen from her mother and sold into slavery.

2009: After 2 years of slavery Jade manages to kill her master and escape. She meets the Chinese mercenary Weng Chan, who takes her in and begins training her as a mercenary at age 10.

2015: Jade meets Kreun Musenga, The Spitting Cobra. She leaves Weng Chan and marries Kruen at age 16. During their life together, he teaches her about poisons.

2017: Kreun dies (of natural causes) and Jade embarks upon her solo career as a mercenary assassin, taking up the mantle of Cheshire. She is contacted about assassinating an American Senator (Kelly) after the events of Days of Future Past, but the contract is withdrawn.

2018: Jade is in New York during Loki's attempted invasion. As Frost Giants and Dark Elves spilled into the streets, any coming near the location of her Brooklyn safe house are slain with extreme prejudice. After the battle, Jade takes advantage of a dip in real estate values to relocate her Brooklyn safe house to Manhattan.

2020 and later: Cheshire establishes relations with many major terrorist organizations and rogue states.

Fearless:
Whether leaping from a rooftop to catch a helicopter skid or facing off against a large number of skilled opponents, Cheshire shows no hesitation and no fear. Weng Chun's training essentially worked all such emotions out of her. If there is anything that Cheshire fears, perhaps it is confinement or loss of independence.

Inconstant:
Cheshire isn't known to be a good team player. Yes, she has worked in teams on occasion. She is also willing to lie, cheat, and even betray her teammates if it suits her purposes.

Ruthless:
A job is a job. Whether combatants or innocents, men, women, or children, once Cheshire commits to a job she sees it through. While she strives to be precise, Jade isn't shy about collateral damage.

Sociopath:
Jade is a textbook example of a sociopath. She has a real taste for violence and likes to kill people. Rules do not interest her, only results.

Unforgiving:
Jade never forgives and never forgets. While she may not immediately seek revenge, rest assured that if you land on Cheshire's wrong side she WILL get even eventually. With interest.

Flexibility:
There's really no such thing as being 'triple-jointed', but Jade is unusually flexible. It allows her to perform incredible acrobatic maneuvers and dodges. This level of flexibility also means she can deliver unexpected strikes and kicks in combat. Finally, slipping out of straight jackets and most restraints is almost child's play.

Immunity:
As a result of her extensive knowledge and years of experimentation, Jade has developed immunity to almost all toxins. This includes synthetic poisons and natural toxins.

Acrobat:
Part of her training with Weng Chan was to develop and push her limits. He helped to hone her natural abilities and turn her into a world class acrobat, emphasizing her flexibility and strength. Whether tumbling and dodging during combat or daring leaps during an escape, Jade is always pushing her limits. She is physically on part with olympic-level gymnasts.

Assassin:
Cheshire is among the best assassins in the world. She is meticulous at surveillance, planning and executing a kill and is often far from the scene by the time her work is discovered. Her success rate is high, as are her rates.

Computers:
Jade keeps current with technology, especially computer systems. While she isn't really a hacker, Jade lives in digital world with banking and contacts, while maintaining layers of anonymity. Between multiple aliases, random IP addresses, burner phone hot spots, and similar techniques, the assassin named Cheshire is very difficult to track electronically. Jade often rigs her safe houses with remote camera systems and toxic defenses that she can activate remotely from a computer or smart phone.

Demolitions:
During her mercenary training with Weng Chan, Jade became a skilled demolitions expert. She began with grenades and land mines, but also knows how to rig improvised explosive devices. She can set complex, multi-phase explosive events, craft car bombs and can even use explosives to very precisely defeat door locks.

Disguise:
Jade is skilled at mingling into crowds and hiding in plain sight. She often dresses in the role of a domestic, whether a maid or waitress or cook, for reconnaissance or to deliver her toxins. With a change of accessories, removal of a wig or a shift in mannerisms she can appear as a completely different person in a matter of moments.

Martial Arts:
Cheshire has studied a wide variety of martial arts during her years of training. Some of these styles are practiced by very few others and she combines these techniques in a style that is uniquely her own. Cheshire's fighting style has been described as like Picasso, all weird angles and hard impacts. She is quite comfortable with fighting crowds or highly skilled opponents. Cheshire is regarded as one of the most dangerous women alive.

Polyglot:
Being a global operative, Jade is familiar with local customs in many nations around the world. She is fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin only), Japanese and Vietnamese (all 3 dialects). Often she will pass herself off as a tourist from one of these nations or Taiwan (where Mandarin is spoken) when she travels.

Seduction:
Jade is an attractive woman and she knows how to play it to her advantage. From playful banter to her distracting costume, feminine wiles are just another tool in her skillset.

Tactics:
Mercenary Weng Chan taught Jade to become a meticulous planner. She gathers information, plans, and allows for contingencies for every job with military precision. Jade is skilled at identifying and exploiting weaknesses in her targets.

Toxicologist:
Jade was married to Kruen Musenda, an assassin dubbed the 'Spitting Cobra', for two years. During her time with Kruen, Jade learned how to develop, formulate and deliver a wide variety of toxins. She also learned various means to introduce poisons to a subject including gas, food, transdermal, and even multi-component toxins that require selecting the proper combination of foods at a buffet. Jade is capable of creating poisons that are lethal and non-lethal, including toxins that cause temporary debilitation.

After Kruen's death, she continues to expand upon her knowledge and is always experimenting with new formulas. Jade is regarded as among the foremost toxicologists in the world, and is capable of developing poisons that affect even superhuman physiques. (Note: these 'high end' poisons involve expensive and rare ingredients. They are not something Cheshire carries with her routinely and should be pre-negotiated OOCly.) Cheshire often poisons her weapons and claws, and carries gas capsules and grenades to deliver toxic solutions.

Weapons:
Over the course of years of mercenary training, Jade has become proficient in a wide variety of weapons. She is a skilled marksman with bows, handguns and high-tech sniper rifles. She is likewise an expert with thrown weapons, such as knives, shurikens, throwing spikes and needles. Jade prefers hand weapons, both to complement her martial arts skills and because it allows her to be up-close to her victims. While she is proficient with traditional martial arts weapons, Jade prefers katana and sai.

Assets:
Cheshire is a skilled assassin and charges a very high price for her work. She has monetary assets spread out in a variety of accounts and funds around the world that she can access remotely.

Claws:
Cheshire often wears metal claws on her fingertips when she fights. These fingertip extensions are secured by a simple spring mechanism similar to a Chinese finger trap. Fairly short, the claws resemble gold-colored talons. Made of a hardened alloy, the claws make short work of Kevlar and can damage anything less robust than hardened steel or ceramic plate. Jade often coats them in various poions.

Mask:
Jade will often wear a stylized white Cheshire Cat mask when she works. The mask provides night vision lenses as well as places to conceal small needles or smoke capsules. It also filters such things as tear gas.

Mercenary Community:
Cheshire is well-known in the mercenary community. She usually works through intermediaries and aliases, but Jade is personally known by many of the top names in the business.

Safe Houses:
As a mobile operative, Jade keeps many safe houses around the world. These could be anything from a simple houseboat in a Vietnamese harbor to an expensive penthouse apartment in Manhattan. These lairs are always stocked with a cache of weapons and poisons, cash, extra clothing, first aid kits, and computers. Anything a busy assassin would need to support her lifestyle.

Family:
Jade does not currently have a family. Her husband is dead and she hasn't seen Weng in many, long years. Should Jade ever develop feelings for someone, they could effectively be used as leverage against her. And she would defend (or avenge) them fiercely.

Law Enforcement:
Cheshire has made a name for herself in the law enforcement community. While she has yet to be captured or arrested, profiling her work has earned Cheshire her own file of likely cases at Interpol.

Loner:
Life as a travelling assassin-for-hire isn't exactly good for promoting relationships or family life. While Jade has a lot of assets and pretty things, she really has no one to share them with. She makes due with the occasional superfluous liason, but spends a lot of time alone.

Overconfidence:
Jade is good at her job, and she knows it. The downside is that she has a tendency to get in over her head, and fall back onto contingency plans. While she has been fortunate so far, at some point her luck is going to run out.
