Cast of Characters: Mary Jane Watson, Rachel Roth

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
It's been a complicated day. A Hydra attack seen off by the Shadow and Superboy, amongst others. And Mary Jane having had to reveal a side of herself that she tends to prefer to keep to herself. Namely that she's an agent. She's walking around the campus of Metropolis University, past an outdoor display of various things from the astronomy department put out for the public. She's melancholy.
It's certainly going to make things a bit mor ecomplicated than they need to be. She looks out in space for a moment, gazing over at a reflection in a small pond. Water rippling.
<<You could have simply told the boy. No need to play these games. Twice bitten after all.>> The form of Red Sonja within her, speaking to her mind directly. The girl looking into the waters as if having a conversation with herself. Which she very much was.
~It's not like you weren't the first thing.~ She would snip back, even as she would exchange words with the spirit that shared her headspace.

Rachel Roth has posed:
A complicated series of days, really. Raven is currently one of the few Titans left on Earth, as many of her brethren amongst the team have embarked to the stars, to the home of Kian's people. This means that Raven, for the first time in a while, is somewhat... Lonely. Events in Metropolis are handled nominally by the Super family, and that leaves Raven spending most of her time making sure the younger Titans don't burn down the tower and... Well, taking walks.

Such is the event of today- the tower is empty, the younger members with their families. She, therefore, is floating through the aftermath of the attack, and for a moment, idly considering enrollment. She never /did/ get a true college degree, despite her grasp of history and culture being above that level. It may... Help provide perspective, something she's been finding that outside of the Titans, she sorely lacks.

There is, however, an anomaly amongst the assembled students outside the university, and Raven descends from the sky some distance away, to approach on foot- a kinder thing than the imperious floating she does normally. "Two minds, one body." she comments. "That cannot be easy to deal with. Have you sought assistance?"

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson is currently gazing over at the water, blinking for a moment as someone approaches her. Someone Gothic. There's a flow over to her body as the Sonja persona is pushed back and Mary Jane turns over to Rachel. "What?"
The facet of Sonja within her stands out like a beacon, not hidden in the slightest. Her green eyes would blink over and then..
"Uh.. That's one way to put it. We're more.. Cohabiting together. It's.. Complicated but we're both satisfied with the arrangement we've worked out." She would evaluate the other girl.
"And, ah, sorry, I don't think I've seen you before." She would offer a hand over. Features relaxing. "Mary Jane. And the other one is Sonja. She's not quite into all these 'people' things." She would qiup.

Rachel Roth has posed:
Raven doesn't /touch/ people. The offered hand gets a short stare, but her hands never leave her pockets to accept it. Instead, they remain sheathed in her hoodie, her pale flesh protected from tip to toe, and staying that way. She contemplates the woman's words for a moment, before returning her gaze to MJ's eyes, having spent that time looking at the hand.

She doesn't /want/ to be rude, but there are few people she'll willingly make physical contact with, and someone with two minds in their body, however nice, is on the bottom of that list.

"That's what I meant. Cohabiting. Two souls, one body. The soul is the mind, in a way. I understand that you may have made... Compromises, with one another. But you should still seek assistance. Understanding. Whatever soul is not meant to be present is likely there for a reason. Someone versed in this can assist in finding it. Business left untended can lead to a breakdown of negotiations."

There is a pause- she realizes there is a level of... harshness, to her words. It is not reflected in her tone, which remains without inflection save to those who know her most deeply. "I can get you help. Whether you feel like you need it or not, it should at least be considered. Even if it isn't an immediate concern."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
The hand is offered up and then withdrawn when it's not returned. Not everyone is into such things, particularly with strangers. Mary Jane's brows would knit with understanding a bit of apology if she's made the other girl uncomfortable as she would withdraw her palm, hands going into her own pockets.
She would purse her lips then as Rachel would go on. "We've.. Been this way for a couple of years, a bit more maybe." She would allow over. "And we've.. Had ourselves looked over by some people. We're.. Okay with this." That's a rather complex question with a great many difficult replies that are very vague and pushed into a small space to try and not go into them too much.
Raven's words about spirits and souls and merging over gets a deep breath. "We have issues. Believe me. But she's there for me." She would watch over at Rachel quietly.
"And her time has long since passed and there's nothing left. IF whatever remnants of her are pulled from me, then there's nothing left of it." MElancholic. A period from however many tens of thousands of years ago that was so ravaged as to not even leave ruins. Nor artifacts. Nor writing. No memories, even.
    Faded away.

Rachel Roth has posed:
Raven stands there, emotionless, but clearly listening. Not just hearing, either- but understanding. However, there is something of an impasse- and she puts it as delicately as she can, which isn't entirely delicate at all: But, that's Raven. "It isn't about whether or not the two of you are okay with it. For what it is worth, that is a good thing. The body is not meant to house two spirits. It can, for a time, and that time can be indefinite- but there is always a catch of some kind."

She allows that time, to sink in somewhat.

"You should be attempting to understand why this spirit is inhabiting your body. She was supposed to move on, and didn't. There is a reason for that. Benign or not, both of you could be helped by understanding the condition as thoroughly as possible. To help you understand where the boundaries are- whether you've drawn the lines, or whether what is keeping the spirit here has drawn them for you both. If you would allow me, I can put you into contact with people experienced in these matters. To give both of you space, real space, within yourself. That you are not at odds is a good thing- but it is not the ideal situation. Ideally, you would know the why of it all, and from there, what can be done so that two souls remain two souls and, eventually, one is allowed to pass on, as it should- without harming the other."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would go to fold her fingers together over and listen to Rachel. Her head cocked to the side and her body language curious. She goes to evaluate what the other woman is saying. Rachel despite seeming to be Mary Jane's age clearly has more wisdom to her and knowledge. "And yes, there are. Things always have risks. Prices to pay. Penances. It's one I'm willing to."
She's stubborn. That doesn't come from family. IT comes from friends. But she listens.
"And as near as anyone's ever been able to tell she's a very, very, very distant relative. THere was a blade she used once in a museum on display. I touched it and she became.. Alive in me." Her tone is thoughtful. "There's never been much of any reason as to why we could figure out. No real moment of destiny, no real threat. No event which -needed- her. Nothing that guided us together. It just seemed so.." She would search through her thoughts, finally settling on the right words.
"So random. And nothing since then has particularly stood out either." Nothing of grand meaning or destiny. No fulcrum point of existence.
"Ah.. And what can I call you?" She would ask curiously. "And we've had to spend a.. Bit of time working out how to share brainspace."

Rachel Roth has posed:
Raven's expression sours a bit the more she hears. All of this sounds very bad, but not in the way that may be typical- after all, while Sonja does not seem to be a malicious spirit, the nature of their bonding is just... Well, she explains: "I understand you have learned to live with one another. That is, again, very good. But..." She paces, somewhat, trying to figure out the right words to create understanding. There is no frustration- she is not bothered by the lack of knowledge, but she is bothered that the knowledge has not made itself evident.

"The lack of information on /why/ this has occurred is troubling. It is something you should seek, and continue to seek, until you know. The spirit may not be malicious, but the reason that she is present may be. There is /always/ a reason for these things. Perhaps, in the end, it will be beneficial. There are such things as guardian spirits, ancestors that do more than just watch from beyond. This could be that. It would be good, if it were... But you must be sure. For the sake of both of you."

Another pause, to let that sink in, before she continues. "Whatever has caused this could be preventing that spirit from being where it needs to be. It could be putting that spirit where it is needed right now, or where it was needed at a time in the past and that time has gone. I am not suggesting any sort of... Exorcism, or removal unless it's necessary, just understanding. Knowledge about what caused it. To acquire that, I can put you in contact with the best people at determining what was and wasn't random about all of this." she states, before pondering a moment again, and turning fully to face MJ.

"I am Raven. Of the Titans. I could help you myself, but I may lack the expertise necessary. If you don't mind, I will speak with some... Colleagues. Get you assistance. They will reach out. Would you be amenable to this?"

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would nod over at Raven and listen over. She would go through what Raven is saying and nod her head. "Everything happens for a reason and this just seems like some freakish chance. But nothing either of us has ever been able to recall. No proclamation of need by Scatach. No act of frenzy by Gath." The way she says that word over so casually over in a dismissive tone before turning her attention over.
"You're right. We.. Do need to be sure. There's always something over the horizon. Always something over the shoulder." There's shifting in her face over as she's having an internal conversation back and forth.
"She's not a believer in fate or destiny. Neither am I. But we both get the.. Existence needs a reason. And that just as we haven't figured one out doesn't mean there isn't one." She's accepting Raven's knowledge and opinions on this.
"I.. Would appreciate it greatly." Huh, Raven of the Titans. That's a name that has meaning. Her eyes go wide a bit. "And.. Thank you."
At the 'not needing to exorcise Sonja'. Which Sonja might accept..
But that Mary Jane would fight tooth and claw over to stop.

Rachel Roth has posed:
With that, there is a nod from Raven. "I will go then, and expect some contact with whatever urgency these agents deem necessary. I don't imagine it will be easy, nor do I believe that it will be simple- but it is necessary all the same- to understand what this circumstance means, for you both."

With that, Raven's shadow extends and becomes three dimensional- pushing up into the form of a great bird that encompasses her body- before, quite simply, she is gone, her next whereabouts unknown to MJ- but there are sorcerers whom she intends to visit, posthaste. Three, at least, come to mind.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Creepy. There's a shift in Mary Jane's facial expression over as they go sour. Her body turning up straighter, warier now. An edge to her body language. "Wizards.." A feral expression on it. Then the redhead is going to stalk off, her contemplation finished.
Taking longer strides, intent on getting out of the area while sweeping and surveying it for further threats.
