Somehow not voted "most likely to unnerve everyone she meets," Raven is a veteran Titan and a hero in her own right. Cold and distant, Raven keeps the world at arm's length, yet often paradoxically seems the most invested in its safety, including the safety of those she spends almost all of her time mocking.

Personality

Personality:
Withdrawn, shy, sardonic, sarcastic: Raven is best described as any of these things. To most, she seems hostile. Standoffish, for sure. Raven is a mature and dark individual, with a vocabulary as eclectic as her personal style. She doesn't hate the world, but she hates the way it lies, and she's not afraid to do her best to make it feel bad. Her wit cuts like a scalpel, and her empathy lets her find the exact thing people are sensitive about, allowing her to cut to the emotional bone. However, she is not loud- and she rarely speaks. When she does, she tries to make her words carry weight, and raising her voice is often completely out of the question.

Powers

Empathy:
Raven is, hands down, one of the most powerful Empaths in the world. She constantly feels the emotions of those around her, with little to no filter other than her own willpower and serenity. She can feel when someone is hiding their emotions such as anger below the surface, or sadness masked with stoic calm. She can detect when others are lying, both about things they are saying and when trying to hide their true feelings. This ability is not infallible of course- especially wily or skilled liars, in addition to sociopaths of certain kinds, are difficult to read and require more interaction to discern- if it can even be done at all.

In addition to sensing the emotions of others, she can actively manipulate said emotions, providing her with a number of benefits:

-Emotion Manipulation: Raven has the power to siphon the emotions out of others, rendering them muted or removing them entirely, rendering a person effectively 'numb.' She can do the reverse as well, and instill emotions in others- such as fear or panic, or calm. The intensity of this can be such that Raven can cause others to lose consciousness temporarily.

-Empathic Healing: By taking a wounded person's pain into herself, Raven is capable of rapidly heal others from even the most dire of physical and psychological injuries. She can extend this to herself if need be, though it requires her to enter a trance of emotional calm. In either case, Raven cannot heal mortal wounds on herself or others, and the healing is not instantaneous. Instead, it creates a form of regeneration in the target, rather than simply wiping the wounds away.

-Empathic Link: By creating a link with an individual, Raven can piggyback their emotions. She can tune into what they are feeling to such a degree that she can feel when they are in danger, or experiencing some other intense emotion. These links have some range to them, but generally require Raven to be on the same plane, and continent, as those with whom she is linked and require a lot of investment to form, typically limited to those whom Raven has a proper emotional bond with.

These are the abilities, as well, that Raven is comfortable with using. There is no telling what she would be capable of were she to embrace her demonic heritage fully- or worse, invoke the power of Trigon himself.

Magic:
Raven's mother was a mage of some renown amongst Trigon's cult before she was taken in by the people of Azarath, and Raven grew up on that plane, surrounded by some of the most powerful mystics the world had ever known. Before it was destroyed, she was taught not just how to control her powers, but also the ways of Azarathian magic from an early age.

Azarathian magic mostly focuses on rituals and 'slow-burn' styles of magic, which take a long time to perform and may require multiple participants. However, it is especially potent in the divination, enchantment, and transmutation schools of magic, when it is employed. Raven typically uses this form of magic to find others, of whom she only needs to have an imprint from another being, which she can gather through various methods including her Psionic abilities. Despite its overall strengths, however, Azarathian magic is typically weaker, or shorter in duration (or both) when cast by Raven alone.

In Raven's studies, her other abilities have made most offensive magic somewhat elementary, as her Soul-Self is a weapon all on its own. This has led her to study different forms of magic in regard to demons and other spirits in particular: Binding and banishing demons is like second nature, and Raven is capable of exorcising and interacting with spirits and souls as if it were normal conversation.

In addition, Raven has specialized in utility magic such as detection spells, and other things. Her magical sight is powerful (Though hardly infallible, those with stronger magic or more practiced enchantments can avoid detection) and long-lasting when cast, and there are basic forms of enchantments that she performs to enhance her physicality if she can cast them: spells to temporarily turn invisible, or enhance her reflexes for a short time, are among her usuals. Any that can detect the nature of these spells will easily know that Raven is an intrinsically paranoid person.

Psionics:
As part of her demonic heritage, Raven is psychically active in many ways. When she makes physical contact with an individual, she is capable of reading their thoughts. In addition, she can also scan, alter, and repair the memories of those who she makes contact with, as well. While Raven has the potential to become a strong telepath in her own right, at the moment her abilities are broader in stroke rather than excessively precise.

However, Raven must experience the memories she scans or alters in any way, and strong minds can resist her influence- with the especially strong, or particularly traumatized/traumatizing individuals or memories being difficult if not physically painful for Raven to interact with. Additionally, minds that are shielded against this kind of interaction in addition to exceptionally strong-willed (or otherwise prepared) individuals can resist, or misdirect, this ability.

((As always, abilities like this are based on consent, and I require it before it will be used.))

Shadow Mastery:
Varying in form, and to some degree in function, Raven can produce constructs made of hard darkness. The usual forms are things such as shields, walls, and other simple shapes, and while they are linked to her consciousness, they are quite resilient, able to take some extremely strong blows before breaking. However, the range at which she can create these constructs is limited to a mild radius around her person.

Soul-Self:
Raven can manifest an Astral, yet paradoxically physical, version of herself that is the embodiment of her own soul. While not containing her whole consciousness, it is an intrinsic part of Raven that for other beings would simply remain intangible. It most often manifests itself as a great, black Raven that blocks light, though its true form is that of Raven herself. The abilities it has are various, and extremely powerful:

-Chronokinesis: Raven's soul-self can take her quite literally anywhere, and in conjunction with her demonic abilities, this includes the time-stream. This is not without a great deal of risk, so Raven normally limits herself to the most absolute minor of effects, though that is not the limit of her abilities. (This is limited to TP and Staff Approval only, and isn't used in normal play.)

-Intangibility: Raven can travel through solid surfaces by linking two points with her soul-self. It essentially creates a 'door' of darkness through which she travels, seemingly melting into walls and floors. Doing so is taxing, and requires a conscious effort. For example, she CAN fly through walls, even those used as projectiles... But she cannot phase through something she doesn't know is coming.

-Teleportation: Raven was designed to be the gate through which her father, Trigon, would escape his prison. There is no distance vast enough, nor plane askew enough, that Raven cannot reach it via her Soul-Self. She can go anywhere, and she can go there swiftly, as long as she knows -where- it is that she's going. (Moving through dimensions is possible, but requires TP or Staff Approval.)

-Astral Projection: Raven can project her soul-self, at great speeds (Up to several times the speed of sound), into other planes and as a physical presence. Most often she does it as a therapeutic measure for herself or her allies, but it can also be used to explore and scout the physical and non-physical worlds... Or just as a really, really brutal battering ram. (As with Teleportation, moving to other planes requires TP or Staff Approval.)

-A Dimension Unto Itself: Raven is capable of pulling others into her soul-self, which as named is a separate dimension in and of itself. Raven has the ability to modify the nature of this dimension to create a prison, or whatever she chooses- if she is truly present to do so. Intruding on the dimension is as dangerous for Raven as it is for the intruders... And those around her.

-A Thing That Hits Things: The massive bird displays an impressive "mass" and is capable of battering down even tough enemies, as well as flying at a truly impressive speed. Sometimes, you just have to hit somebody.

Skills

Hand-To-Hand:
:
Raven is not a martial artist, but it is fair to say that she is surprisingly skilled in combat. While by no means as skilled as most if not any professional combatant, Raven is proficient enough to pose a good threat up close- and certainly more proficient than she would seem to be.

Multilingual:
Raven can speak, read, and write in several Earthly languages inlduing: English, Spanish, German, Romanian, Latin, Sanskrit, and ancient Sumerian. In addition, Raven can understand (and in some cases she is fluent in) several otherworldly languages such as those of Demons, and Asgardians, and Azarathians.

Occultism:
Raven is a tireless study. She spends a great deal of her time reading and meditating on the knowledge she's gained. With access to virtually any library in existence- even some that "don't" exist- and an incessant need to devour said information, Raven has developed an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the occult. Her specialities are Demonology and the Magic of the Soul, but there is no manner of magic with which Raven is not at least familiar.

Resources

Titan:
Raven is one of the oldest members of the Titans, and the resources available to the team are without exception available to her in almost every situation. From spending cash to just having a place to crash, most daily needs are taken care of by having a home at Titans Tower.

Weaknesses

Arella:
Raven's mother is a peaceful, and fearful, being. Stranded outside of Azarath just like Raven, she is one of Raven's strongest emotional links. While Arella is no fool, she does fear Trigon more than anything else in the universe. Even the hint of his arrival will send Arella running to Raven- and Arella's fears can be manipulated to Raven's detriment. Doing so can be difficult, but the rewards far outpace the tribulations in this regard. This link is amplified much by the fact that Arella is supposed to be dead.

Emotions:
Raven's emotions are her link to Trigon. Her demonic heritage seeks to prey upon her need to Feel, and the fact that she feels the emotions of everyone around her, she is always in danger of losing control. The results of this can vary somewhat- from losing control of her powers and being unable to use them at all, to them spiking radically out of control and endangering everyone around her, to the worst possible scenario: Falling prey to Trigon's influence.

Precognition:
Raven's Empathic abilities allow her an involuntary, sometimes traumatizing, and altogether extremely rare glimpse into the intent and possible future actions of those around her. These glimpses are just that, and are highly limited, and often unreliable- doubly so because Raven has little control over their occurrence and content. In addition to that, Trigon is aware of this ability- and when able, exploits the link between himself and Raven to offer the most traumatic, desperate, and misleading visions he can.

Separation:
Raven's most powerful tool is her Soul-Self. From it she gains her Empathic abilities and much of her magical talent. Without it, she is helpless and, in many ways, human. She can only manifest it directly for short periods of time or else she starts feeling painful and anxious, and though doing so is a herculean feat, it can be captured and kept separate from Raven herself, rendering her nearly powerless until it can be returned. The pain and nervousness are exponential based on the amount of time Raven is separated from her soul-self, up to the point where she is rendered as emotionally numb as she can render other people. In this state, Raven is incapable of most of her abilities, including Empathy, Psionics, and of course manifesting her Soul-Self in any fashion.

Trigon's Daughter:
Raven is many things, but she was sired, perhaps it could even be called -created-, to be Trigon's gate into the real world. Not only does Trigon himself constantly whisper to her to bring him in, but he has mortal emissaries and cultists the world over, working both alone and in concert. The reward for being the one to break Raven's will, or to simply bring her into direct confrontation with Trigon's presence, would be great... And there are very many that seek to do so, including, in some part, Raven herself.

Ancient and foul Fae-ish magics preyed on Raven's mind, but they were less ancient and foul than the balloon, which was a patchwork of used underwear and should never be mentioned again. Raven will no doubt be extracting many concessions from Donna for all of this in the future, even though Donna, to be fair, did agree to /most/ of Raven's plans.
