Cast of Characters: Sebastian Shaw, Blake Riviere

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
It has been a small stretch of time that Sebastian Shaw has been absent from the halls of the Hellfire Club in New York, which was certainly an unusual time. With Tessa out on assignment to explore some opportunities in Asia, when the London Club needed some help with a matter it fell to Sebastian himself to assist. And truthfully, he relished the opportunity to see for himself how another club operated, having not been to another than the New York club in some time. And of course, while he always did his best to play a good host, the Hellfire Club truly did not _need_ him to function, as much as he might like to think that it would.

Nonetheless, it was good to be home, and within an hour of having returned stateside, Sebastian was wearing one of his usual Victorian topcoats and lingering near the bar at the VIP Lounge, checking in on members and staff alike.

Blake Riviere has posed:
Certainly one of those forces had been the 'Black Squire' herself keeping the place alive. Social movements, information gathering and one deft 'clean up' of some of her lesser cousins, the vampiress had kept herself occupied. Sure enough as she moved into the VIP lounge Blake was dressed the part, the corset and revealing cut panties, the choker around her throat, only her hair down and hanging around her shoulders marked her as a little more 'individual' in her styling as she made her way through and spotted the familier face.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
The warm, broad smile on Sebastian's face as he spied Blake is authentic, a contrast to the usual fake smile that he affects for the members at large. Blake knows the difference, even if they do not. "Ms. Riviere," he says as he beckons towards her. "I hear that you have been doing an admirable job ensuring that no good deed goes unpunished while I was abroad."

His brandy is brought to him by the bartender as Sebastian's focus shifts entirely to Blake. "I hope that you did not grow bored during my time away."

Blake Riviere has posed:
"Mr. Shaw," she offers lightly, slipping towards the seat of her own nearby and settling in with a shrug of her shoulders. "I did my best not to be bored, with yourself and Tessa away. At least the club is quite good at offering tasks and distractions to keep myself busy." Her accented tones carrying with her smile, there's a tilt of her head. "How was London? I haven't been there in so very long..."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"I should hope that it continued to amuse. If not, I would have had to have unkind words with many of our staff here." Sebastian smiles and steps over towards Blake as she takes her seat, leaning over to offer a kiss to her cheek as he carries his brandy along, adopting a casual lean against the bar in front of her. "London was not nearly as exciting as New York, of course, but was not without its appeal." He takes a sip from the brandy as he regards her, amusement in his eyes. "I shall not dare to ask just how long that was."

Blake Riviere has posed:
"It was..." she trails off, chuckling lightly. "Well, on the way home from France. Quite a bit of celebrating going on that year..." With that, she trails off lightly and looks back to the man. "I am quite happy enjoying this city and this country for now...and I am glad you have returned also."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
Laughing softly, Sebastian shakes his head. "The wonders you have seen, my dear," he replies with a smile. He takes another sip and then sets his glass down on the counter as he regards Blake. "I am glad that you are enjoying your stay here, and you know that I always appreciate your company." He even has the courtesy to avoid looking her over as he says that, which is its own sign of respect from the man.

"Since it sounds like you have not been up to any trouble in my absence, what sort of trouble would you care to get into now that I have returned?" A flash of a grin.

Blake Riviere has posed:
"I have every intention of seeing more. It keeps me going, no?" she offers lightly, smirking a little at his question and leaning forwards. Her hand comes up, painted fingernails lazily dancing up his arm before trailing to his glass that she guides up to her painted lips. "Oh Mr. Shaw, I've come out here for entertainment...and inspiration. But perhaps I could share some more stories with you elsewhere."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"I suppose that would be true - if there were not more things to see and experience, then why go on, yes?" Sebastian's eyes twinkle with amusement, and he nods slowly as she takes the glass. He smiles and nods in agreement. "Oh, you know that I never tire of your tales." A chuckle. "Particularly those tales that you feel are not appropriate for public consumption."

Blake Riviere has posed:
A little laugh, she does indeed take the sip and make to stand...still carrying his drink it seems and beckoning for him to join her. It might look almost disrespectful, but the vampiress was far more likely to simply be tempting. "I might have one idea or two. I could tell you stories of business, or one of someone who is very close to me."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
While it might seem disrespectful, there is enough familiarity between Sebastian and Blake that it is understood. He is hardly possessive, certainly not of brandy, and he is always willing and eager to share. Particularly with those few who have earned affection from him. "Oh, I think I would be far more interested in hearing a personal tale." He takes a half step back to allow her room to depart the bar, a hand reaching up to brush against her back in the passing before he falls in beside her. Allowing Blake to lead the way, it would see. Always an attentive host, Sebastian is...

Blake Riviere has posed:
Another sip and towards the elevator they were headed, the promise of privacy and the vampiress tilting her head to the side. "Tell me Sebastian, 'My King', did I ever tell you the tail of Ariah?" she questions lightly before she makes to take one last sip before the beverage is offered back to him, a light trace of her lipstick on it. "How we came to meet, my companion whom has come with me...she has returned to the city of late."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Ariah?" echoes Sebastian, with a shake of his head. "No, I cannot say that you have." He accepts the glass that is offered and turns it such that as he takes his sip, it is over the marks of her lipstick. He drains the remains of the glass and hands it off to an attendant as he follows her into the elevator. "And is this someone who I would want to meet, or want to avoid, if she is here now?"

Blake Riviere has posed:
"I'm sure you would wish to meet her," Blake chuckles lightly, awaiting the doors closing before she speaks again. "She is my 'daughter', though not in the mortal sense. The only one of my kind I have ever made...but she is also different." A pause, there's a smirk from the Black Squire. "And she is quite beautiful in her own right. I may well bring her to the club to see for herself, for she has not joined me here yet." A pause, there's a tilt of her head, perhaps trying to gauge his thoughts.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"If she is your offspring, in any regard, I am sure I would relish the opportunity to meet her." Sebastian chuckles for a moment, regarding Blake. "I have to imagine that any mortal which would impress you enough for _you_ to choose to bring into your world would have to be most impressive indeed." He ponders this for a moment, and then nods. "I think that you should. Do you suppose she would have the disposition to join in our more sordid affairs?"

Blake Riviere has posed:
"She might," Blake answers lightly, shrugging her shoulders. "She and I have been lovers for decades now, but she is no thrall or 'Bride' like I once was. And you are entirely correct, she was a remarkable mortal...a rare being that I sought to preserve...but then, such words oversimplify..." A pause, she smirks, turning back to the man as the elevator continues to rise. "But I imagine I might be boring you now. Tell me, what is on the King's mind?"

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
Nodding along as Blake details the connection between the two, Sebastian considers. "That does sound like an excellent way for it. Partners and equals, even if you are the creator, so to speak." He looks back to Blake as the elevator nears its destination. "I must say, that world you inhabit is most interesting to me. I thought some of literature had it right, even if clearly most of literature must have it wrong."

The doors slide open, and Sebastian waves his hand in front of Blake to allow her to exit first. "And you are never boring me, Ms. Riviere, I assure you." His lips quirk into a smile as she asks what is on his mind. "Oh, right now the King is just imagining meeting your protege, as that is the topic at hand." A pause. "But I am sure there are other topics that can displace it, if you have grown tired of talking about her."

Blake Riviere has posed:
A little laugh, she shakes her head, crossing her arms under her bust flattered by her uniform. "Oh no, but there is only so much words can explain. I'm sure you'll see more, even if there is only so much one not bonded by it could comprehend it." A smile, she steps through the doors with a glance over her shoulder back at the man. "I am looking forward to showing her this place."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"True, and I must say, I do rather enjoy my daytime escapades, so I am not sure it is the right lifestyle for me." Sebastian watches as Blake departs, and as she glances back she will almost certainly catch him admiring her retreating form. There is only so long he can go without doing so, of course. "I look forward to showing her this place, as well. You simply must bring her by." He follows Blake out of the elevator as the approach his suite. "If there is anything that you think we can do to prepare to be extra hospitable for her, do please let me know."

Blake Riviere has posed:
"She is a direct link to me, young as she may be...by my standards," Blake jests lightly. "She and I even took a sunbathing trip to the beaches of our homeland one summer..." A pause, his offer brings a moment of consideration, contemplation...but no direct answer yet.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Huh. I had not realized you could sunbathe." Sebastian follows along, but steps up half past her to open the door, his other hand resting at her back. "There are all manners of things about your kind that I am yet to understand."

Blake Riviere has posed:
"Perhaps," she teases lightly, moving in through the doorway with a smile and a look back over her shoulder to meet his gaze, "you will have to see for yourself. I do love the light, and there are some habits that come naturally...but the sun does not destroy me any more than it might you."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Well then, that is a sight that I most certainly will have to see." Sebastian follows her in, allowing the door to close behind him. "Clearly, I know very little about such things. You shall have to educate me." He grins. "If, of course, those are things that you can share."
