Serious Subway action, extra pickles
Date of Scene: 08 October 2022
Location: Subway Car
Synopsis: Pickles? Gross, just like those goons.
Cast of Characters: Cecily Winters, Beroe Kazinski

Cecily Winters has posed:
Late evening in the NYC underground. Not so many bodies as the work rushes to and from home, but certainly enough people heading out for dinner to make for a fairly substantial handful. Among them, a bore-looking woman is being given a fairly wide berth. Why? She, unfortunately, takes up more than a little extra space, even with her nine tails pulled close and curled around her legs. She's staring down at a phone in one hand, the other holding the bar above her.

Another stop. The doors open. A few people get off, a few people get on. The cycle continues.

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
"Hey everyone. Late evening here. And we're looking at another long trip on the Subway. Getting to explore a place far away from home. Awesome!" Beroe squeals from her location on the Subway, currently standing and keeping her balance well enough. "If you've never been on the New York subway, here you go. Here's the map." One of her hands is holding onto her phone, selfie camera video recording, and behind her is the map of the interconnected rails. Pointing out with her other hand she offers, "We're here, and going..." she trails, down down after many stops, "Alllll the way out here. Thank you to hashtag DirtyDogz with a Z, for the skirt and bunny ears. They are an exclusive online shop, you have to be 18 or older to visit, but REALLY cool stuff. Check them out with my coupon code, BeroeFTW for 10 percent off orders..."

In the background of her shot, there's a few people with hoodies, duffel bags, and just dark clothing in general filling into the exits of the car. Both directions. The doors open to allow people on and off, and then the doors close, them still being in the way. At which point, they pull out guns from pistols to submachineguns from their bags and shout, "ALRIGHT, everyone turn over your money, valuables, and maybe no one gets hurt!"

Cecily Winters has posed:
Cecily's ears perk and twitch. She can hear Beroe's voice, not too far off from her. She doesn't look up, though. A smile creases her face. She's seen the girl before. Her thumb dances across her phone's screen and she brings up a picture-in-picture of the girl's livestream. Yep. That's her! That's the one. "Mmm, look cuter in fox ears..." she states under her breath, but nodding approvingly. Finally her eyes lift and she takes the girl in more directly--just in time for the be-hoodied individuals to bark out their orders.

Then the vixen's ears flatten against her head and her expression falls. Perhaps impatience and annoyance. She slips her phone into her bookbag and keeps her hand buried in it. "Really?" she asks, sounding indignant. Of course it's the perfect time for a train robbery. Everyone's tired and hungry after a long day of work and are packing their credit cards, cash, and jewelry for a night out! At least it looks like Cecily doesn't have any jewelry, but her sharp-looking 'office lady'-style attire does indicate some level of professional affluence.

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
Popping out her pop socket, Beroe finds the back of a rail to prop up her phone, and steps out into the middle of the car. She puts her hands on her hips and legs at shoulder distance, she's taking the 'hero stance' even though she's dressed not-at-all like a super hero. Turning to her camera, she smiles and gives a V for victory sign before turning back to the robbers. "Stop, or suffer the consequences!" A hand going out towards the Robbers, indicating her 'stop' motion.

At that point one of the hooded individuals just shakes their head, and there's some commentary about, "What the hell? There's some kind of 'hero' on the Subway. Do you think she jumps, super well, or something? Maybe she's a martial artist. And the another sshoooshes them, before leveling their gun in the direction of Beroe, "Just turn over your valuables and we won't have to shoot you." The people in the subway starting to get a bit tense, guns vs potential wannabe heroes or vigilantes never ends well for bystanders.

Cecily Winters has posed:
Well now. This is interesting. Cecily pulls her phone back out and looks it over, getting a good view of the young woman from two different directions. She lets the pause the robbers take to taunt or be bewildered to study the situation before stowing her phone again. The fox looks around the car and slowly shuffles to the side, putting herself between the criminals and some of the people. There *are* children here, after all, and she makes some hand gestures with her free hand to get behind her, where her fluffy tails fan out. At the least, she can obscure and protect -some- people. Still, firearms and an enclosed space, not the best combination. Probably one of the worst, in fact!

"Haven't you seen her posts?" Cecily calls out, her tone dry and deadpan. "You're likely better off just putting your weapons back in your bags and getting off at the next stop," she says, sounding impatient. "Some of us have reservations for dinner we're trying to keep," she adds an extra dose of sarcasm to her tone. Maybe she's trying to goad the attackers into focusing on her, too. Whatever the case, there's now two sassy women facing down the highwaymen.

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
A person is coming to fight as well? Beroe looks over and... her eyes widen, big grin, "Ohmygodohmygod! A Kitsune?!" She squeals, balling her hands into fists, arms pulled close to her body as she shakes them with uncontainable excitement. "And you know MY channel!?! Whaaaaaa-" She's cut off when a gun fires and puts a hole in the ceiling of the subway car to get back attention. "Oh, right, after this, wow, so cuuuuuuuute." And she turns back to the hoodie wearing gun-toters. "You only have one more chance!"

And that's when gun fire starts, as the criminals are giving up on being patient with threats alone and start shooting. All in all there's a total of about 6 goons with different kinds of guns, and though they may not be military precision shooters, they are making up for quality with quantity here. With a squeak, "Eeeh." Beroe throws her hands up to start making these circles all over the place, little silvery holes in space with an incandescent pink tone to them, like very girlie glitter, as bullets from her side of the car disappear into these various 'pockets' everywhere, and somewhere away from here they are being deposited where they can't hurt anyone. Though she is only focused on one side of the car as the others try and create some cross fire to assault these super women.

Cecily Winters has posed:
"Well, yes, with a name like 'CuteLikeAFox' how can I not?" Cecily asks, her voice being a lot more ... warm, compared to when she's been addressing the goons. Then her ears curl and she winces. Loud. So loud. She hates this. She loves her ears but she hates how sensitive they are. It's a cacophony of sound and it gives her pause. Then all hell breaks loose. "Get behind me or get against the walls and on the ground!" she shouts, aiming to get a few shielded with her person and others to get out of the line of fire entirely. Which, unfortunately, leaves her in the line of fire. Her voice is cut off suddenly with a choked noise.

Unfortunately, she doesn't have the same kind of bullet-absorbing powers that Beroe has. No, all she can do is either keep people away, or draw the shots to herself. And under the hail of scattered fire, more than a few slam into her and not just the windows around her. The armor-weave in her vest might absorb a few but red can be seen pooling in the white of the shirt beneath it. She staggers but stays upright, coughing up a splatter of blood. "Oh... attempted murder now is it..." she grins, hissing through her teeth, showing those sharp, vulpine jaws. "...surely nobody would argue this wasn't in self defense..."

The hand in her bag comes out with a pistol of her own, but it's the other hand that's held up. Blue-purple flame spirals down her arm and coalesces in her palm before she hurls the ribbon of spectral foxfire at one of the goons, igniting his shoes as the fire starts to creep up his pant's legs.

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
Gunfire is coming in from the other direction, and Beroe's eyes go wide. After some 'thudding' of bullets into the Kitsune lady, Beroe turns and some of those same portals appear underneath of a few of the goons. Her phone is still livestreaming everything even as they 'fall' through the ground, one of them lit on fire. "Stay behind me, I'll protect you!" Beroe states without armor, and just sort of redirecting her attention to Cecily instead of her own person. She does take a pause and smiles, "You really DO know my channel! Thank you so much for watching..."

The goons that were behind her aren't letting up, though two of them are reloading. Without needing to reload, one of the goons is walking forward and firing right at Beroe's back while she's distracted with protecting the 9 tailed fox lady. Three bullets are headed straight at Beroe's back as she's freeing up Cecily to not have to protect the passengers on 'that' side of the subway car, at least.

Cecily Winters has posed:
Cecily is no stranger to taking bullets, and she'd much rather be the one taking them than bystanders. If she had her choice, she wouldn't get shot at all. But this is the work she's chosen for herself. "Idoknowyourchannelnowwatchyourback!" she turns to face Beroe and the thug marching and firing towards the bunnygirl. Her flame-handling arm wraps around Beroe's shoulders and she whirls to the side, pulling her close and tight. "I apologize," she grunts as the three bullets slam into her shoulder and upper arm. What she's apologizing for could be any number of things. It could be the grabbing on her. It could be the blood getting on her. Or maybe it's--

Her other arm comes up and around Beroe, bracing her forearm against the woman's body, Glock up and sighted. She fires three of her own shots, sending a trio of .45 caliber rounds at each of the three thugs. She's aiming for center mass, to smash into sternums and send them down without actually creating grievous wounds. There's a deep growl in her voice, eyes still flickering with inner purple light. Beroe can feel her body hot, her heart racing, but even with her wounds she seems to be operating at above-average capacity.

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
The speedy words just seem like normal talking to Beroe, "That'samazingyouknowmychannel! Myback?" And that's when she's grabbed, maneuvered around, and protected by the Kitsune from getting shot. "Wow! You move so fast!" She winces a few times when the guns go off from their side, and she turns her head to see the remaining goons falling away. With that she gasps and blinks, and then reaches into a portal, her arm coming out where her phone is, and she pulls her arm back out of that portal. Showing that it's really she's connecting two points in space, and she looks at herself a moment, tipping one of the faux bunny ears down to be floppy and cute, then brushing back some hair before smiling to her followers. "Did you SEE that?! We saved the Subway!"

Off to the side, the remaining goons are groaning, but they've been taken out. For her part, Beroe concentrates a little more and her portals open up, just barely big enough at this point to have the firearms start 'falling through', taking them away from the goons. "Whew. This was amazing! And thanks to SailorMoonL337 for these remarkable handcrafted crescent moon earrings, that I've put on my legs, super cool! That's it for now, though." And the phone just takes a fast pass of the jewelry before she taps the screen to turn off the live stream.

To Cecily she wows, "You are so cool. Are you hurt? YOu look hurt, do you need me to apply pressure, or call an ambulance?"

Cecily Winters has posed:
Cecily stays silent until the stream cuts and then she leans heavily on Beroe's form. Her body shudders and she exhales a sigh. "...yes, dear, I'm hurt..." she grunts. "Unless you can extract bullets, an ambulance is a good choice. I also did just shoot three men," she can't help but chuckle. "They'll be bleeding but I shouldn't have hit any vital organs..." Her eyes close and she shakes her head. "Impressive powers, Beroe," she says with a small smile.

Slowly, she pulls herself up to stand, unsteady, and puts her gun back in her bookbag. "Did anyone else get hit?" she looks around, focused on the bystanders and especially the children. Her tails fluff and fan out some and then curl back around herself some. "Another day, another ruined shirt," she then grunts again. "Should have some bandages..." as she stows her gun she shuffles around and pulls out some gauze and holds it up. "Should stop bleeding soon but I'd rather not drip all over the train."

    She has odd priorities.

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
The next few hours are filled with EMT, Ambulance rides, people being checked for shock, police, and reports. Beroe definitely is willing to talk to the cops and let them know that she's a super hero, and all that jazz. She's not exactly operating with their authority but she's also not causing massive amounts of bystander harm or property damage. Whether or not Cecily is asked for reports of what happens or not is entirely up to her, but Beroe keeps her out of the comments as she knows - some people have these weird secret identities they want to keep. Or some level of being anonymous.

After that, Cecily will get brought to an emergency room and treated for relatively minor injuries compared to what could've happened. All in all a successful bit of heroics, and some after-action shots from her phone showing people, the subway, and her working with police officers in her outlandish clothes. At the end though, she'll hop a ride in with Cecily to follow her to the hospital and make sure she's okay, and stays that way.

Cecily Winters has posed:
Cooperation with the police is something Cecily absolutely does. As a former officer herself, there's a mix of a few different expressions in the cops she talks to. One or two are happy to see her and there's the odd one out scowling, likely some crooked sort that never liked her and was unhappy she didn't just kick off in a gunfight yet. She provides plenty, though, and it's clear Beroe's video evidence is absolutely integral to an ongoing investigation!

As far as her injuries, there's nothing grievous. She explains to the ER staff that she just needs bullets removed, bandages applied, and maybe a new shirt. It's not difficult, and not too long, really. And finally, checked out and wrapped in an oversized coat from one of the police officers, she's sighing and shaking her head at Beroe. "Well, didn't get any blood on you, I hope?" she follows up on that apology from before. "And so much for my reservation..." she exhales a soft sigh.
