Seems Like Old Times
Date of Scene: 10 October 2022
Location: Joe's Restaurant and Cafe
Synopsis: Thomas has a (decent) proposal for Saeko.
Cast of Characters: Thomas Blake, Saeko

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake dragged himself back from Gotham. His job should have been no problem. However, he'd heard the target in question was going out of the country for a few days. That meant the goods he needed might be moved or even brought along. So he hit the house earlier than he intended. His ams were still healing after two mastiffs owned by the League of Assassins got hold of him. He was just a little slower. He got seen. Or someone suspected they saw something and that led to reconnoitering by shooting bullet. Escape strained his arms further. He got away but the only complication that had not arisen was some vigilante sticking their big nose in his business. As it was he was still looking over his shoulder as he entered Joe's. The restaurant was still deserted, just opening. He accepted his coffee gratefully and perused the menu. He made a note to give the waitress a really nice tip. She was blonde, pretty and reading college text books. She was also genuinely sweet. He decided on corned beef hash and eggs aaaaand steak on the side. With a sigh he lowered the menu...

Saeko has posed:
"Rough night?" Well, there was another there, sitting across from the man in the booth. Raven haired and decidedly less 'foxy' than normal, the recognizable form of Saeko in her human guise, her form wrapped in what appeared to be a red tanktop that suspiciously matched the tones of her yukata and a pair of jeans, the fox even had a mug of coffee as if she'd already been served, something that the waitress almost certainly thought she remembered doing thanks to a little application of foxy magics.

"I haven't seen you look like this in a while..."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake nearly spits coffee. He grabs a napkin. After coughing a little he looks over his shoulder again and gives that a rest. "I was in Gotham. I hate going to Gotham. I had a... job a couple days ago that left me a little the worse for wear and I think I aggravated my injuries. Yeah... I look like I'm still with the ex, don't I? Well, I got this way doing my own thing. It makes the difference, you know? Not worrying about wars in Hell or demon politics." He gives the waitress his order and waits for Saeko to order before continuing with Ex-shading.

Saeko has posed:
"Ah? The batman?" she questions lightly before sipping her coffee, giving a little chuckle at his comment. "Well, she was always...lively, the thought had crossed my mind but I imagined Megan wasn't quite so...that." A little shake of her head at the offer of the order and she lifts her coffee, apparently content with that for the time being. "So what sort of mischief have you gotten up to now Thomas?"

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake shrugs. Then he slides over next to Saeko and gives her a proper fox greeting: he nuzzles her, terminating in an innocent (for him anyway) kiss. "I was being productive and... don't say THAT name. I was dealing with some very bad people and for all I know he had them under surveillance. That shoots my business model to hell. Rob the bad guys, no one will call the cops. Anyway. I got in, got out. I acquired some letter and photos a very lovely lady will be glad to have. I also emptied the safe they were in, to make it look like a burglary. Did my best to cast the blame on that other Cat or the Clown Princess. No one screws with them, they just take the loss... rather than possibly involving him. I should be good. If no one blows my head off by lunchtime I succeeded."

Saeko has posed:
A light snerk at that comment, she too returns the nuzzling and the light peck before chuckling lightly. "Work for hire then? Or are you giving offerings to someone else as well as your affections? I'd almost think you'd found me boring," the fox teases before sipping her coffee once more. "Well, I'm sure your little pixie would prefer your head remain intact, as would I."

A beat, she tilts her head to the side. "I have met a curious individual, another fox, though one made of science rather than magic."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake pauses to give Saeko another kiss, with more feeling. "I never find you boring and I will always have affections for you... possibly too much. You spoiled me for older women... almost. But tell me about this other fox. Have you met a new partner? Should I be envious?" He drapes an arm around the kitsune. She seems to want some affection and talk which is unusual. He listens.

Saeko has posed:
A smirk, but there was humor from the kitsune who shrugs her shoulders lightly, shaking her head. "Oh Thomas, I am an immortal remember? I know I have nothing but time...and I have not found another to exclusion of all others. That is...more of a human concept, and even then not for all of them. I have found this fox...she is a craftswoman of all things, and Inari smiles on those who would create and a young human who was in need, so much poured into protecting others...she had let herself fall. I am fond of them, perhaps they will be lovers...or simply company for this 'Older woman'."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake beeps the kitsune on her nose. "Older, but ageless, never old. You are partner, guardian, lover, mother, I hope you are always happy. Yes young humans are cute. Also really stupid at times. This one I met... her mother did for me a lot of what you did, counseled, loved, taught. I owe her mother a debt not easily paid but... this kid is cray-zee. I'm trying to teach her before she gets herself killed. I have enormous sympathy for you, after what you did for me. I really had a complete mental breakdown when I left the Ex and went to Africa. You pulled Rasputin and me through it. You could really ask me anything. Anytime." Thomas hugs Saek tight as the food arrives with his food. "You having anything besides coffee, Foxy?"

Saeko has posed:
The "Sympathy?" Saeko muses lightly, shaking her head softly at that and the lifting a finger to flick his forehead after the boop. "I think you mean appreciation, no?" She trails off with a small laugh, stroking a fingertip down his brow. "I am many things Thomas, but you do not need to feel bad for me, nor am I partner of convenience. I will not always be happy, for I have eternity where you do not...so I will wish for your happiness, I will remain close...but I will find my own things too, and they may well last longer than your lifespan."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake frowns and then says, "Perhaps 'empathy' is more accurate. I'd never pity you. And appreciative works too. But yeah, you better remain close. In fact, Pixie keeps looking about for someone who can teach her a bit more magic. So far she's found some capricious characters. The most stable was this hard drinking necromancer/demigod. He's a pretty fun guy actually but I trust you more. Pixie needs help, she could be incredibly dangerous without proper training. Here and everyone thinks she's she's a little silly goody two shoes. Amazing to watch her... talents develop."

Saeko has posed:
A shrug of the fox's shoulders and she smirks, placing down her coffee and absently reaching for a piece of his breakfast. "Of course, instruction from a Tenko may well be useful...but it is also quite the blessing, perhaps not something that can be freely given."

As for 'good two shoes'? The woman smirks. He -was- tooking to a Kitsune after all!

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake pushes his plate closer to Saeko. This is not an offering. Like any female, she gets to eat from a man friend's (or more) plate. "Well we can discuss it, you, me and Pixie. I'm sure the two of us can come up with a way to show our appreciation for your wisdom." Unconsciously the hand on Saeko's shoulder begins tickling it gently. He leans in, "Ear rubs, brushings, food, whatever. You know what I'm good for." He ends the sentence with an ear nuzzle. He's pretty sure he can p-lease her with any two of the three but, he is thorough.

Saeko has posed:
The nuzzle? It finds air, absent fox and no longer a shoulder to tickle, as if she'd never been there to begin with. Only a faint chuckle on the wind and a light ghost of humored voice offering him an answer:

"I'll think about it..."
