Synopsis: Bunny comes to the Immortal Dragon Dojo and starts her training.
Cast of Characters: Shredder, Bunny Macleod

Shredder has posed:
Training with a team. There are three students that Bunny was placed with in her class. It wasn't as large as some of the others, and this one wasn't taught by Tatsu. Master Oroku himself was teaching this group. There's Ryan, who has made no shame in declaring that he is a telekinetic, and there is Briana, who seems to have some sort of mini-teleportation. Unlike most teleporters, she can only blink about two feet in any direction, which makes her much less impressive than some who can relocate miles.

The three of them are the only three in the class when it starts. Bunny was given a black gi with the red emblem of the Foot, the old three pronged fire symbol. But...class time has started, and Master Oroku has not yet shown.

Bunny Macleod has posed:
Bunny had carefully braided her pink hair and pinned it down so that no one could grab it, and had quietly changed into her gi, bare foot and showing off every one of her different color toenails. She had been warmed up from skating in, and though she was impressed by Ryan's boast of telekinesis, she had excitedly said to Briana about how just two inches can mean the difference between life and death, and had expounded, in great detail, how once the two i inches her skates provided her stopped her from getting her feet split open by an escaped bandsaw blade that had decided to take a walk on the wildside and abandon the bandsaw it was attached to. She was her excited, bubbly self, because she was inwardly scared about starting up the class with two other mutants who seemed very much in better control of their powers. She hadn't talked much about her own yet, but excitedly listened to Ryan and Briana.

Shredder has posed:
It's several minutes of chatter. Briana and Ryan are both curious about Bunny as well. The two of them definitely seem to have an instant desire to commoraderize if they learn of her mutancy.

It's nearly fifteen minutes when the master appears, coming out from the back room. "And what is it that you've learned today?" he asks, as if there was a lesson to be had in his absence. Ryan and Briana immediately both take a stance of readiness at attention, but neither seems to have an answer for the question.

Bunny Macleod has posed:
Bunny hops up from where she was sitting, and she gives a small smile.

"I learned that Briana can blink easily two feet, enough to avoid blows to her person and to surprise someone who's expecting a strike from a certain direction, and she's got mor epotential dangerous than Ryan, because although Ryan can pick up things with his mind, he's often focused more on himself and his own abilities. You can't ever be too attentive in New York, or else you're gonna get hit by a friggin' *cab*." she announces. Her own stance is not as tight as Ryan or Briana's, but she had easy answers.

"And they both learned about escaping bandsaw blades."

Shredder has posed:
Saki arches his brow. "Is that so?" he asks. "Very good then, Bunny learned about Ryan and Briana's powers. Briana?"

The other teen girl pauses. "I learned that Bunny, is a pretty optimistic person?" she suggests.

"Ryan?" Saki shifts his attention to the boy.

"That..." he fumbles for something new to add. Briana stole his! "The same, sensei."

It's difficult to know at first whether this is approved or not. "Your world around you has declared that you are different from your peers because of your genetics. Some people think that makes you dangerous. Some think it makes you powerful. But neither is true." He paces in front of the trio, his hands behind his back. "What makes you powerful or strong is not your body, but your mind. I was absent for fifteen minutes. You took that time to learn some, albeit limited things about each other. The initiative that you took was social. The purpose of being here is to grow. Ryan and Briana, both of you have the knowledge of your warm up routines. Bunny does not. Instead of spending your time boasting about your mutancy, you could have spent that time preparing yourself for the task ahead, and helping your new sister to do likewise." He looks back at Bunny. "You did what is natural, in your situation you spent more time learning than speaking. You gained understanding rather than seeking to be understood."

Bunny Macleod has posed:
Bunny tried to cover for them a little bit about the bandsaw blades; she's new, it's easier for her to learn new things.

She rubs at her shoulder a little bit, digging her toe into the mat below in embarrassment that she showed up both the other students.

She gives a nod, her ears and cheeks burning a moment in embarrassment as she sinks a little into the doji as she watches Saki carefully, blue eyes trying to absorb every detail.

Shredder has posed:
The other two don't dare turn to look at her, they keep their eyes straight at their sensei. "The kata is control," he says. "It represents the awareness of yourself, and of your body. Your powers are an extension of that, but before you master them, you must master yourself." He begins describing the process of breathing, the movements, leading the class through them.

Your purpose must be in your family. Your world tells you to chase what you desire. This is a fault in our world. Alone all people fail. It is only in something greater that we succeed. This world needs leaders who understand this. To be in the Foot means that you do not only seek to follow orders, but seek to have the same goal, so that you are able to make decisions that benefit your whole family, and not only the decisions that benefit yourself."

Bunny Macleod has posed:
Your family. Her family. The Foot. She watches Saki with wide, attentive eyes, Bunny's attention laser focused on him as he speaks, and it speaks to her own sense of what a Family should be.

The blue-eyed, pink haired teenager, dimunitive in form, was eager to place and so eager to learn. From where she stood slightly behind Briana and Ryan, she looked to their stances, and tried to mirror them, tightening up her sense of attention.

Shredder has posed:
Saki continues the process, finishing the kata. What follows is basic form techniques. It turns out that Ryan and Briana are not much further along in their training, perhaps only a few weeks ahead of her. Corrections are given on form, and there is one thing particularly clear about this sensei. He does not accept a second rate maneuver. It's rather grinding, even.

"You have been told that practice makes perfect. That is wrong." He seems quite deliberate on this. "Perfect practice makes perfect. If you practice something at less than perfection, you will perform at less than perfection. This world has many people who want to hurt you. Performing at less than perfect will mean that they will succeed. I will not have them succeed. If this is your family, I am your father. A father does not wish his children to be harmed."

Bunny Macleod has posed:
Bunny imitates, taking to the instruction well. She moves her body, watching Ryan and Briana, and makes her corrections. The second time she self-corrects. The third time is very close. She moves about the cata, learning the motions by muscle memory, wanting to make sure that she is showing her desire to train, to be strong. To be part of this Family that is more than just themselves. She breathes in time, bringing her arms up to mimic a block, a defect, a strike.

She repeats the motions until Saki is satisfied. And then she repeats it again until she's satisfied that she's got it. She moves her feet carefully, those colorful toenails trailing on the mat, blue eyes narrowed in concentration.

Saki may notice the prismatic shimmer on her skin when she realizes she's coming up to a block in the Kata. She's trying to push her body to remember to use her powers.

Shredder has posed:
The sensei moves to Bunny. "You are trying to incorporate your powers," he states simply. "I sense you forcing this. There will be a time to concentrate upon your powers. That But you should not force it. This must be something that is natural. For now, keep to the kata. When your mind has full control of your body, that is when you will be able to use your powers without trouble."

Bunny Macleod has posed:
"I can't--" she begins, and she looks up at Saki for a moment.

"... what if someone comes at me before I get to that point?" she asks, giving an embarrassed sound. She thought she was being clever and doing well. Getting called out like that?

"I still have a job to do beyond... I'm.. I'm sorry, Sensei. I'll do my best." she replies, and she leaves off the useage of her powers, going with only the kata.

Shredder has posed:
The starting and stopping excuses receive only a hard stare, challenging her to complete. He doesn't interrupt, letting her spend out her words before responding.

"In answer to your question, someone will come at you before that point. Your need for mastery over yourself is more important in that situation than mastery over your power. You need only to look at the stories of heroes, vigilantes, and villains to see this is true. How many heroes have caused more damage by relying upon their power instead of their control? How many villains have become consumed by their power that it controls them? Yet I stand before you with no power beyond any other man, yet I fear none of them, because I can control myself, and through that, I can overcome any foe."

He stops the class. "Hai! I shall demonstrate. We shall do an exercise in this. The three of you will attack me. You may use the powers you have without reservation. Prepare yourselves." He nods to the center of the mat.
