Profile
Bright, cheery, energetic and knowledgable about her city, Bernice Macleod -- better known by her nickname Bunny -- pictures herself as a roller-skating tower of badassery and flippant disrespect for the darkness and decay that comes with urban living. In spite of the fact that she's a five-foot-one girl who hasn't even hit the age to vote. Emblazoned by a perennial need for color and sunshine, the young mutant tries to hide her ability while weighing the good she could do with it against the needs of her family.
Timeline
Timeline:
September 2004 - Born the fifth of eight children to Robert 'Bobby' Macleod and Jessica Macleod. Preceeded by Betty, Robert "Bobby" Jr., Beatrice (Trixie) and Bastian, followed by Benjamin, Barrett and Beth-Anne.
September 2009 - Starts kindergarten. Known as a very active and engaged youngster. Already reading at fourth grade level. Given the nickname Bunny since Benny for Bernice was considered too masculine for her -- and for wearing a bunny-ear beanie.
January 2010 - Bunny begins piano lessons. She falls in love with the instrument and announces she wants to play and sing professionally. Jessica and Robert encourage this, and pay for tutoring and private lessons.
2012 - Bunny takes up roller skating after seeing a roller derby. She finds she has a natural talent at it and quickly adapts to life on wheels.
2013 - Robert begins to work for Global Energy Consulting, specializing in technological security in accounting. He is quickly moved up the corporate ladder in the following years, and his family eventually occupies a large Manhattan apartment.
2017 - Bunny is considered a premiere piano player and participates in All State Show Chorus and Orchestra for New York at thirteen, and performs Christmas music on piano for the company her father works for, Global Energy Consulting.
January 2020 - Robert loses his position within Global Energy Consulting due to being caught in an embezzling scam - and taking the fall for it. Jessica discovers that she has developed and aggressive cancer later in the month.
March 2020 - Robert, Betty, Bobby and Trix try to make things work with Jessica getting sick. Bastian is forced into parental roles for his younger siblings until Bunny is old enough to watch Benny, Barry and Beth-Anne. A messenger service is run out of their Brooklyn apartment. Bunny uses her roller skating skills to move around Brooklyn safely. Bunny is asked to run messenger jobs between school tasks and caring for her siblings as Bastian gets involved in criminal elements.
August 11, 2020 - Jessica loses her fight to cancer. Bunny is fully taken out of school to care for her younger siblings and run deliveries. She picks up piano performances at night for tips to augment her family's income without her father knowing.
January 2021 - Powers manifested during a gangland fight. Bunny ended up emitting a prismatic shield to stop bullets ripping through her younger siblings. Robert, who could be described as 'not a racist but doesn't want a mutant dating his kids' is kept in the dark.
February 2021-2022 - Bunny works on practicing her powers. She occasionally hits open mic nights, using a fake ID to try and make up extra funds for her family. She does her best to fly under the radar as a mutant and performer in fear that it would give her family more trouble. She is evacuated from Brooklyn and briefly lives in Gotham.
April 2022 - Return to Brooklyn and to messenger duties, using her skills roller skating to get around NYC to deliver packages same-day.

Personality
All the Perks:
She wakes up this way. She's as bright and cheery as her prismatic shields, enjoys bubblegum pop and sing-songs her way through the day in spite of some of the kicks in the teeth she's gotten. Bunny constantly runs as if she's hopped up on enough caffeine to cold-start a semi truck.
Any Excuse To Party:
Birthday? Cake! Bar Mitzvah? Mazel tov! Arbor Day? Hug a Tree! Is it your best friend's dog's gotcha day? Well heck with it, to the bodega, we're getting peanutbutter crackers and vanilla frosting! Bunny feels that life is too short and dark to not find a reason to celebrate every day and every blessing you've received.
Extroversion:
When you're used to being among eight siblings and goodness knows how many other people at company picnics, you tend to be easy-going, fairly open and want to know about All The Things. Her siblings were always all over each other at home, privacy was at a premium and it was never just one person. Bunny is used to conversation with complete strangers and is an unusually extroverted and cheery person.

Altered Mutation:
Bunny ingested a compound created by villains The Mauler Twins at the behest of Nolan Grayson, otherwise known as Omni-Man, meant to tempt his son in joining his conquest of Earth. The pills were not meant for human ingestion. As a result, Bunny has the following:
-Limited Flight: Bunny has flight limited at 200 MPH (about 322 KPH). At altitudes above 10K feet (~3050 meters) she requires additional oxygen.
-Enhanced Strength: Bunny is capable of lifting 500 Lbs of weight on her own and hold aloft for up to an hour at a time.
Prismatic Shields:
Bunny is capable of emitting with concentration a pair of prismatic-colored energy shields. These shields can either be used as a flat sheet of approximately fifteen square feet, directed by her palms, or can be used to 'bubble' herself. The shields can last up to sixty seconds -- enough for her to get to some place safe and out of fire. Pushing their presence to ninety seconds can stress Bunny, and cause migraines and tremors. The shields have a nearly clear but prismatic quality to them. Her skin takes on a prismatic 'gasoline puddle' quality when the power is in use.
Bunny is able to bubble one other person with her without expending additional efforts -- provided the person isn't too much taller than her. After repeated use she must rest or risk worsening migraine and continued shaking.
Skills
Basic Martial Arts:
Bunny has the equivalent of a basic martial arts and self defense course under her belt. She can throw punches, roll with a hit, and perform combination strikes and staff strikes.
City Knowledge:
Need to get from A to B in New York City? Need a package delivered from point 1 to point 2? Need to know just what subway you need to get to The BEST place for steamed dumplings in Manhattan? For Street and just-below-street-level, Bunny is your girl. She's got a guy, knows a lady, or can find a person for just about any legal (or nearly legal) activity in the city. Anything deeper or darker than a fake ID to get into a bar, though, that she won't let on if she knows someone or not.
Freerunning:
Sometimes referred to as Parkour and having come into extreme popularity thanks to a chain of video games spanning the Crusades, the Golden Age of Piracy, Vikings and Spartans, Freerunning is a useful skill for anyone who wants to be able to get from here to there in the most interesting and uselessly dangerous, but fast ways. What could possibly be more disastrous than adding roller skates to the mix? Bunny is capable of jumping, swinging, and bouncing off walls in order to get from one place to another.
Musically Inclined:
Bunny is a concert-level pianist and has performed with the New York All-State Show Choir and Orchestra. She composes and writes music and has an interest in Jazz and transcribing different music to different eras. She still finds solace in music. If she wanted to pursue a career in music, she has the skills and the pipes.
Wheely Talented:
Bunny is a highly skilled roller skater. She knows a bunch of tricks and skills, can grind her skates, stop on a dime (or at least a half-dollar), has a good deal of learned balance skills, can manage light combat (thanks to roller derby fascination). Roller skates are her preferred method of navigating the city.

Macleod Messengers:
The Macleod Messengers -- in spite of not being a roller derby team, which would be killer -- is a business run by her father, consisting of her siblings as logistics, client support, marketing, and messengerring. Her income in generally depends on how much business her father can drum up from same-day delivery within the city.

-Inner Ear: Bunny has developed inner ear sensitivities; things that affect her inner ear (like infections, certain sound frequencies) affect her ability to fly and cause her stronger than normal pain.
-Klaxus Plant: there is a species known as the Klaxus plant that can be found on other planets that can poison and weaken even full-strength Viltrumites. Bunny does not have as a strong a reaction due to her majority human DNA, but the Klaxus plant can trigger serious nausea, vertigo and the effects of severe food poisoning.
Inexperience:
She's not really at a level where she could be considered heroic yet; inexperience is going to cause her to make mistakes, get messy and on occasion, possibly need a hand out of a situation.
Limited Ability:
Bunny can emit shields, but not for very long at one shot. Overuse of her powers results in migraines and obvious tremors. Recovery can take a full day of rest, with ginger-ale and saltines to try and solve the stomach upset.
Mutant:
Bunny is highly aware that mutants are still a hated target, especially young mutants. They go missing all the time in NYC, and living on the borough of 'Mutant Town' doesn't lend itself hugely to security. She is constantly worrying about her powers going off -- or going wrong.
Riches To Rags:
The Macleod family went from being high-level, private school attending, six-million-dollar five-bedroom condo in Manhattan to attending public school and living in a two-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn on the edge of Mutant Town. There is a certain amount of shame that comes with it. Robert Macleod's fall from grace is still the butt of some meeting rooms; there's still some aspects of being 'broke' that her family just doesn't grasp yet.
