Cast of Characters: Yondu Udonta, Thor

Yondu Udonta has posed:
Events had gotten quite interesting in there time out here at the edge of space. It wasn't everyday that one found a being in space, alive, without a spacesuit or nanites. Yet, there he was. Male. Burned up and missing parts. But alive.

They had no idea what he was. The computers were inconclusive on that. Humanoid. In that he had two arms, two legs, a head. Missing one hand, an eye. And he was more like Quill in color. Not everyone could be blue and thus perfect, like Yondu.

Now that the others were busy, Yondu had opted to go to the medical area of the Eclector to check in on their salvage. Guest. Whatever. He'd checked the progress that was being made and confirmed the man was still kicking in there. Not literally. But he wasn't dead yet.

Leaning over the view window on the pod that held the man, Yondu knocked on the glass with his right fist. "Wakey Wakey! Anybody home yet?"

Thor has posed:
A few of the lights on the console of the repair tube flickered, a few skewed red while others tripped along toward green creating this flow of a cascading light that drifted down the display until it all settled at green. Which was when there was a hiss of compressed oxygen followed by a softening of the haze that obscured the view window. Which is when Yondu would see the face of the figure.
The skin on the side of his head where the burns had been was still an angry darker color, but at least it was repaired albeit scarred. No telling if that would stay that way or if it would fade with further treatment, but life is hard out on the frontier. He took in a deep breath, brow knitting as that scarred countenance tightens. The first expression he makes is to frown, lips parting as he smacks them a little, clearly tasting something bad which Yondu might be familiar with. Since these rectifier cages do leave a pretty gross taste.
Then he opens his good eye. That much of him is blue at least as he looks up while his brow is still furrowed and his first sight... is Yondu.
Which makes his gaze widen a little, eye closing again as he looks down and lifts his hands... his hand? That surprises him, when he looks and sees that it's only one hand he presses against the window, the other a stump that's sealed but still scarred and angry.
    Until finally.
    "Where am I?"

Yondu Udonta has posed:
"In a med pod on my ship," Yondu offered with a grin. "We found ya floatin' out there in space. Bad shape. Don't know how you were alive but you were. You can see yer missin' a few pieces here and there but you look a ton better than ya did!"

Encouragement and positivity! Maybe he is going soft. Yondu considers the readings a moment.

"Ah can open this thing up but you can't go gettin' up or nothin'. If'n ya wanna get a look around a bit. And you can have a drink to get that shit taste outta yer mouth."

Thor has posed:
"Ship?" Is the first thing he says back though still smacking those lips and looking rather displeased. Though he does become distracted looking at his lack of a hand. His good hand reaches over to touch it, to draw fingers over the twisted tissue as he frowns. Then slowly exhales, shaking his head and finally looking at Yondu again.
"Then. Thank you." He presses his hand against the surface of the pod and doesn't push, but says, "Yes. I'd like to get out of this..."
But then his brow furrows as words come from him quickly, "What happened? Something was going on..." He frowns and pushes a little at the pod now, just enough to trigger the curious alien writing to display in a flash on the pod that says in that language, 'Please remain still for your own safety.'
Which somehow he can read it, as he does fall still.

Yondu Udonta has posed:
At the response, Yondu pushes a few buttons. "Give it a sec," he warned then disappeared from the view window. As he moved over to get a cup of water from the vending station nearby. By the time he came back over, the pod top was retracting and allowing the man within to see the medbay area. Nothing fancy. Probably not as clean as one should be but it was pristine compared to the rest of the ship.

Yondu offered the cup of water to him. He waited patiently for Thor to situp if he wanted to, using his free hand to push a button to bring up the bed into a comfortable sitting position were that to be the case. No rushing, all in the man's time as he was the one recovering from...well, something he shouldn't be able to recover from! "If you wanna rinse, that spot right there. Just pull the tube to your mouth." For there was a spot on the bed in case the occupant felt nauseous so it worked in this case as well.

"Can't say I know what happened. Was hopin' you might be able to tell us that. I'm Yondu Udonta, Captain of the Eclector, which is the ship you are on. Ship being space faring vessel. Found you on the edge of space. Guessing you got spat out of a singularity or some such. We haven't quite figured out what you are yet though. Like your species."

Thor has posed:
In his current state of semi-undress, the blast mark is much more revealed the scarring along the right side of his body, the tearing of skin that left him marked along his face, his shoulder, his chest, his abdomen, all in a semi-circular pattern that looked torn and ragged but at the least healed to the extend that there was a chance for a future.
Yet he rose, pushing himself up on one hand, then reaching out with his bad one toward the offered cup of water...
Only for him to frown and swap hands taking it up and drinking greedily from it. No need to rinse. Just gulping long and steady until he extends to cup back to the blue alien.
"I..." Shaking his head he lifts his hand to his brow and squeezes, frowning the while. "I don't recall. Yondu."
He affixes that name, mouthing it to himself silently as if making sure he doens't forget. "Thank you."
Then he was trying to stand.

Yondu Udonta has posed:
"Hold up there," Yondu warned, quickly holding up a couple of hands to keep Thor from rising. "Y'ain't that far healed yet. Yer heavy enough, Ah don't need t'be havin' t'get you off the floor." Not that he couldn't but it just was work work work and who needed that?

"Swing your legs to the side if you want to side up and let 'em dangle but no getting out o' that bed until the medpod says yer 100%."

He motions to the cup of water, a silent question of if the stranger would like more. "Once we make port somewhere with better medical equipment, we'll see about getting that hand taken care of." And he realizes the man can't see himself so this part might come as a surprise but better to rip it off like a bandage instead of going slow. "And your eye, if ya want."

He considers the man. Solidly built, probably was strong as an ox before all this. "Do y'got a name at least?"

Thor has posed:
"I... don't recall." Doing as the man says, he swings his legs over the side of the bed and sits up, one hand holding onto the edge of it to support himself. He takes a few moments to just focus on breathing steadily, the sound a little raspy as he draws in deep. Holds it. Then releases his breath sloooowly.
Yondu gestures at the water and he gives a nod, "Yes. Thank you. More please."
And should he be given another drink he will imbibe it just as quickly as the first and pass the cup back.
At the mention of his eye he frowns, touching a hand to the side of his face. Suddenly, for a bare moment, he seems entirely exhausted. As if the world was too heavy. As if all of this was too much.
Then the next moment it's gone. He straightens and he says levelly, "I need to... I left something undone."

Yondu Udonta has posed:
Yondu wasn't heartless. He knew that all this was a lot for someone to absorb. The physical state, the loss of part of themselves, the lack of memory. It had to be confusing and overwhelming to say the very least.

"Take it easy. Ain't nothin' you can do right this second. You need to focus on yer recovery first. Get better. As you heal, yer memory might come back." He shrugged. "Or it might not. But we'll burn that bridge when we get to it."

He went ahead and got another water, this time opting for a small pitcher and rolling a table over to the side of the bed. It would allow the stranger to fill his cup as much as he might like that way.

"Once yer better, then we can see about tryin' t'track down who you are, what happened, what you left undone."

Thor has posed:
Looking up, the man meets Yondu's gaze with such a strong steadiness. He straightens up and extends his good hand toward the man's shoulder and rests it there on the armored pauldron. A single solemn nod is given as he murmurs, "You are a good man, Yondu Udonta. I am indebted to you for your kindness. I'll be sure to repay it."
But then he pushes himself to rise and he winces as he does so. "Though I should... I am..." He heaves a small laugh, "I am starving." Which might well make sense, considering the conversion nanites use in the healing of individuals on the med pod. He winces a little and then shuffles forward a step. Perhaps two. Then a little bit more as his stride? It starts to improve.

Yondu Udonta has posed:
"Stubborn sort, huh?" Yondu notes as the stranger gets on his feet and takes a step. Then a second. But the captain doesn't shove him back into the bed. "You fall and rip somethin' open, Ah'm gonna laugh and point for a while 'fore Ah help you."

So at least that was established. "As for your debt? Ah'll hold you to that one."

Followed by Yondu's biggest smile yet.
