Location: Park Row - Bleake Island
Synopsis: Saeko and Harper are out on Halloween night, keeping an eye on those going door to door. A strange entity appears, threatening a peaceful night. Both give chase.
Cast of Characters: Harper Row, Saeko

Harper Row has posed:
All the little goblins and ghouls are out, and a gremlin has joined in to try and keep the peace. That time of the year when there's lots of sugar up for grabs, costumes have been donned by almost everyone, and the nights can hold all sorts of excitement. Harper isn't going door-to-door, but she is patrolling within a neigbourhood that isn't the safest. The Bluebird has refrained from her BoP uniform however, and has decided upon something altogether different. She feels a little guilty doing it, but the night is like a carte blanche for dressing up as who you admire, adore or just want to let loose with. And she's dressed as a fox.

"Hey...hey hey, don't go down that alley, alright?" Harper's face, adorned with make-up to give herself whispers and accentate kohl around her eyes, is somewhat reminescent of a fox, and the orange ears and tail waving from above her belt...along with the leather pants and vest, well, she's gone for something. "I mean it, just take the long way, yeah? Go on..." She ushers the trio of popular heroes in smol form away from the narrow alley and back to the main street where they shriek and offer back brave declarations.

Saeko has posed:
A little 'tug' on her senses, a little shiver on her metaphysical senses and Saeko awakens in her little pocket dimensions hideaway, feeling the connection and 'yearning' against her senses before finally she makes to stand and stretch, a little yawn and then...she was there.

Where was 'there'?

Well, apparently it was behind Harper, her form wrapped in her 'more revealing than normal' short yukata and her tails, whisker marks and foxy ears fully on display.

"Nice costume," she teases lightly, her arms crossing at her bust and then bringing her head to a tilt. "It is quite the night for masks and guises...reminds me of my old homeland."

Harper Row has posed:
Harper makes a sound unlike a fox and the small plastic pumpkin slung at the crook of her elbow sways as she swishes around. She stares like a deer in the headlights. "S-Saeko?" The lollipop in the corner of her mouth rotates the stick like it's on a gimbal. "Oh my God...Hi." she stammers and swallows candy sweetness.

Another mob of muggles tears down the sidewalk, veering off to either side of Saeko and Harper as they try to beat a land-speed record from one lighted porch or set of steps to the next. Little oasis of illumination upon a dark street where flashing red eyes or poor cheap speakers issue out corny howls and dark laughter. A few of the kids nearly trip into the sewers when oogling at Saeko on their way past, open mouths showing beneath plastic masks, wide twinkling eyes through holes in costumes. Harper seems to be on their wavelength as she steps from foot to foot, "I didn't know you were in town. I..." She considers her costume and hopes the blush is somewhat obscured by the makeup she's added. "Oh yeah? I hope it's a good memory? Did they celebrate sugar rush as well?" she grins.

Saeko has posed:
"There are many festivals, events where mortals would wear masks, to offer tribute or seek protection. From what I believe...this was the the same? Except they get candy now!" she begins before moving into a closer range to Harper, grinning lightly. "Hello Harper, it is a pleasure to see you..."

She moves closer, still grinning as some of the kids stumble and lazily reaching a hand into the collection of the candies in that pumpkin with a little wink, fishing with her delicate fingertips.

Harper Row has posed:
Harper's smile turns shy and flustered the longer Saeko speaks, and especially when she approaches. Harper feels shabbier as the Kitsune comes closer, but it becomes less her primary concern as she gets all fixated on her friend. "Me too. It's a pleasure." Harper oh's and helps raise the pumpkin, cradling the bottom with her hand to steady it. "Please, with my good wishes. Do you have a favourite, please accept mine?" She shrugs her shoulders, "Sometimes I offer 'em as a bit of a carrot rather than a stick to get some of these little squirts nearby to take some good advice.

A passing trick or treater gives a little shriek as she has to bypass a big bug on her way down the sidewalk. "Oh gawd Carrie...you almost stepped on it!" "Eeeeeee!" "It's probably fake." The trio of pals veer off from the nearby alley, but one pulls the hem of her ghostie friend. "Dare me? Bet you that full-sized ScrunchBerryBar." "You're full of it!" "Oh yeeeeeeah?" Critical mass is reached, and the Chromatic Yellow Ninja takes the bet, hops the big scarab beetle and tears into the dark alley."

Harper blows out her cheeks, nearly losing her candy and turns her attention behind her to the string of kids that do what kids are gonna do. Her fox-ears flutter with the movement upon the headband that squashes down her faux hawk. "I swear to...I only turned around for a sec..." She raises her voice, "Hey, kids, c'moooooon!" The sounds of trash getting dislodged and a skittering of chitin, and then a shriek. A centipede as long as Harper's forearm spills out of the alley mouth and scampers about before unerringly heading back in where the kids ran. Also, a number of cockroaches and other beetles do their multi-legged jig in chaotic blind circles before seeping back into the darkened alley.

Saeko has posed:
Saeko gives an excited little noise at that, grinning and moving forwards to fish out a chocolate bar and a lollipop for herself too, but its only as she opens the candy bar and takes a bite that she hears the crash and sound of panic. Kids in trouble perhaps? Whatever it might be, spotting the sudden surge of the instincts has the kitsune's eyes going wide.

She's a thousand years old, she supposedly had divine knowledge and empowerment...but apparently she still found the massive version of the creature quite disgusting.

Putting the lollipop between her teeth, the Tenko looks to the bird-turned-fox and then makes to step around into the alleyway, glowing blue light flickering in her irises.

Harper Row has posed:
Harper is close by Saeko's side as they move the mouth of the alley. If anyone needed to dress the set of a movie for a creepy atmospheric alley, they'd hit paydirt with this one. The way the buildings to either side are so tall, the perspective almost makes them seem to be leaning together. Cold bricks, damp mortar, ambient light glistening on moisture that seems to create it's own little atmosphere away from the open street. A child runs back out, throwing off her ghost costume, the sheet crawling with little bugs. Apart from her shrieks, she seems fine. "Gross!" She throws the bedsheet down and tries to swing her toy flashlight into the mouth of the alley, and a cockroach on the device makes her drop it. Harper waves her hand to the child. "It's gonna be okay. Wait here!"

To someone tuned into the mystical world, there's an itch that may come to the senses. Like a familiar unpleasant scent that isn't just reffuse and trash. There is something ~bad~ down there, and it wasn't more than an idea before. A hint before. Now it's more than an idea or a concept. It builds, drawing together and sprouting like a plant growing in a fast-forward time-lapse. Perhaps 50 feet, no...triple that, and getting farther. It's moving away from the mouth of the alley, and it's accompanied by the wails of two small kids. Hordes of icky shiny beetles and creepy crawlies surge in that direction, and vermin perfectly fine with only lurking, have had to screech and surge before the front of that dark rush like the waves in front of the bow of a ship.
