Mary Jane Watson has posed:
It's one of those high society social affairs. Some sort of charity function where rich people come to look important and impress others with how generous they are. Where everything is completely fancy and over the top, every donation is a writeoff to taxes, and once all expenses are taken care of barely a pittance is given over to the actual cause of the charity being raised.
There are of course those hired to be eye candy for the public and the paparazzi present. And there are those that are hired over as extra help.
Mary Jane is one of those second types, wearing a cocktail dress and carrying around a tray of snacks and occasionally extremely overpriced wine that no one will notice the vintage of without a bottle.

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
Being professional eye candy is a rather steady income for Aurora between shoots, so attending the event was only natural, in a blue see-through tulle dress, she certainly invites plenty of accidental glances as she goes on by, engages in some small talk, shares the occasional finger food.

It's when she spots Mary Jane, that she finds an excuse to leave for a moment, powder the nose is an easy one, and with her rep people have a general idea of what she actually means, as she veers out of a group of people, and heads towards Mary Jane, "...how come?" She asks, giggling, "didn't want to be an eye candy?"

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
That's the joy of being paid. It's good money, no one really will remember you were there or who's arm you were hanging off on. Smile, look pretty, and occasionally amke small talk. And if it was your thing, the food and drinks were almost always included. As Jeanne-Marie would approach her, Mary Jane would look up and smile.

"Oh, hey. And the couple of guys who were looking for eye candy were just a bit too skeevy and this pays just about as much anyways." She would smile. "How you doing?" Offering a glass of champagne.

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"I mean even the service has to be eye candy in these parts," Aurora laughs, "but I get you, too much TMZ articles on you, huh? Gets annoying?" She gingerly reaches for the champagne, "don't mind if I do...thanks! So...any guy caught your eye? I bet they all loaded, mmm?"

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would chuckle, "Would you believe me if I said I'm not after that? A lot of this stuff is all play and games. I'd rather not get caught up in just something to be tossed away and ignored after a day in the gossip mags. And besides, they all blend together after the first couple hours."

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
Aurora looks confused, "oh...? What are you after...?" She wonders, sipping some more of her champagne, eyeing around to see if anyone noticed yet that she's talking to MJ rather than doing her job. "Well, gossip column can help get more shoots, so, win / win?"

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would smirk, "Well, I'm just after a paycheck. This is pretty decent money by my standards, the job's way easier than bartending, and it's pretty simple overall. And are you looking to be off anyone's arm for the evening or a bit more?"

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"That's all...? Not a fan of the gossip columns?" Aurora giggles, and raises her flute at MJ, "I'm impressed, I actually like picking those up and looking for my name. It's like a twisted form of flattery." She pauses for a moment, ponders, and then shrugs, "I think...I want to drink, and maybe do some fun stuff, until I don't even remember what happened..."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would laugh, "Well, they're kind of entertaining for short periods. It's just really repetitive. They don't have long lifespans and they just get kind of tedious to keep up with. In teh end they're just pretty boring." She would quirk a brow over at Jeanne-Marie, "If you're going to drink enough you don't remember things.."

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"I mean...it's fun?" Aurora seems like it never really bothered her, that party life style, waking up, sometimes next to someone she's not entirely sure she knows. "Huh...interesting, you never drink to the point of not knowing?" Aurora asks while emptying the glass and putting it back on the tray, motioning to a supervisior that she was just drinking, and will be right back to mingling.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would shake her head, "No.. My dad did it. It's something I never wanted to repeat." Her tone is calm, not judging, but just geneally making a statement of explanation. She looks over at Aurora as the girl would move to mingle, giving her a smile and doing her own quick circuit of the room to give her conversational companion some cover.

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"Really...? I...," Aurora seems to lose her train of thought but just shrugs, "well, I guess I should get back there if I wanna get hired again, thanks for the tip, oh, and let me grab too, good excuse," she winks at MJ, and grabs two more flutes of champagne, before rushing back towards a group a guy in a white tux, "Jerry, I found champagne! Thought of you!"

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would laugh, "Fair enough." hse would grin at Jeanne-Marie, "And I'm here all night if you want to mingle some more or find a more interesting arm to dangle off of." She would wave at the other woman as she would depart, then get back to her job.
