Synopsis: Sif finally talks to Jimmy after everything that has happened. Neglecting boyfriends is bad.
Cast of Characters: Jimmy Hudson, Sif

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
The older mare tosses her head as Jimmy continues to brush her mane. He smiles a little to her and clucks his tongue. "Shh, s'alright girl. S'alright. I know. I know. I miss her too." He gives her a pat on the side and then a slice of dried apple handed to her lips. Just enough to get her settled.
James Hudson, X-Man, Phys Ed teacher, had been bringing the evening to a close taking care of the horses that had been left in his care. It wasn't something that was asked of him, but it gave him time. And focus. Coming here each evening and tending to the ranch. Gave him something to look forward to and to let him distract himself from all the unanswered questions.

Sif has posed:
Things were moving forward but there were still no answers. Though some things had been eliminated, there still was no definitive closure to everything. They had not found Malekith. They had not found how the spell had been altered. They had not gotten straight answers in Alfheim, though at least they knew anything done there likely had not been by choice. They may have been duped as well.

Still no Thor. No body. No sign. The next trip should answer that question more fully. Heimdall couldn't see him. That implied he was dead since he could see every living being in existence. It seemed impossible to Sif for her brother's sight to be blocked as that would be quite the spell. Yet, they lived the impossible.

And in finding time, she had been surprised when Helda brought her some dinner in the Embassy. Sif was in her quarters, perusing some papers and scrolls, trying to learn more about Malekith himself in her studies. But it wasn't Asgardian fare. Instead, it was a little bag of Chinese from one of her favorite places. Finding her stomach growling, Sif wondered at how long at had been since she last ate. She opened the little cardboard box within to find her lo mein. Then her gaze fell on the fortune cookie. That made her smile at a memory and she reached for her phone.

She quickly dialed even as she dug a fork into the noodles.

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
As he had been walking out of the barn, Jimmy's phone buzzed inside his jacket pocket. He was carrying a large sack of feed and was putting it in storage when he got the phone out and took a breath when he saw the name on the phone.
It ringed again. Then he swiped it to life.
    "Hey..."

Sif has posed:
Hearing his voice made her smile widen. "Honey Bunny."

And that made her almost laugh, just thinking of her confusion over that term when she had first learned it. But it had become a special thing between them.

"I saw a fortune cookie and thought of you. I hope you are well?" And she was conversing as though this was just a normal phone call and for her, it was. She wanted to hear about him, what was going on with him. Instead of focusing on her world for now.

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
    "Heh." He says softly.
It's been weeks... a month and some? He hadn't heard from her, the embassy wouldn't talk to him, he'd been out of the loop. But now here she was talking to him and he says quietly. "It's been a while."
"What... how are?" A pause, then he shakes his head, "What happened?"

Sif has posed:
"It has?"

And there it was. For a human, a month was a lot of time. Time flowed differently for Sif. Living for thousands of years, it was easy to lose track of days and weeks. Even months on some level. "I am sorry. I had not realized."

She considered the question and frowned, moving around her noodles with her fork. "A trap was laid and sprung upon us during the ceremony to create the opening using the Resonant items. Malekith, a dangerous dark elf who hates Asgard, transported us to a location of his choosing. We faced his army. Though the wizards Zatanna Zatara and Stephen Strange were able to bring us back from that place before we were overrun, Thor was..." She didn't say the word. Taking a moment. A breath.

"We have not found his body so Prince Regent Loki believes there may be hope." She didn't sound as hopeful. "A trip will be made to Niflheim again, to confirm if Thor is in Valhalla."

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
"Seriously?" He says softly on the other end of the phone. Then he blinks and nods even though she can't see him. He realizes he's doing this then says, "That's... I hadn't heard."
Then a little frown marks his features as he murmurs. "I didn't know."
His brow furrows as he looks at the ground. He continues to listen and pulls a cigarette out of his pocket and lights it, then puts it in the corner of his mouth. He nods as he listens, "Yeah? That's probably a good idea."

Sif has posed:
"I did not realize so much time had passed," Sif admits in a lower voice, frowning again and looking out the window though she wasn't really seeing anything out there. She was imagining Jimmy, how she had last seen him. The easy way he had about him.

"There has been so much follow up. Trying to find answers. Going to demand the Queen of Alfheim explain her part." So much that she isn't really going to be explaining right now.

"I...should have called sooner. Not left you with no information, no contact. That was cruel and I never intended to be that way to you. I just was lost and..." She closed her eyes, took a breath. "There is no excuse I can give. I can only ask for forgiveness."

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
    "No hey, it's alright."
Jimmy says though his eyes are a little distant. He chews on the inside of his cheek. "I know time is... different and all for you. And I am sure with everything..."
Then he takes a deep breath, "I'm sorry Sif. I am, for your loss and what you're having to go through now. It's terrible. Of course I forgive you." He looks across the ranch, knits his brow, then nods to the phone though Sif does not see it.

Sif has posed:
"I would like to see you soon," Sif offers hopefully. Now that she is registering how long it has been, to someone with such a short lifespan, she really is feeling like a heartless witch.

"You are my best friend. And the holder of my heart. I wish to know all that has happened for you. To listen to you tell me everything you have been doing."

She eyes her food then glances around the room at the Embassy. "If you would like to?" Because she has to admit that she would understand if he was not wishing to forgive so easily, despite his words. It wouldn't make her happy but it was her own damn fault.

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
"Sure though..." He rubs the back of his neck.
"I know you got stuff goin' on. Don't worry, I'm glad you got through to me. I've been taking care of the ranch. I'll keep on keepin' on until I hear from you again. Don't worry, all of the stock is doin' good. Nell threw a shoe but she's fine now." He looks away as he takes a deep breath.
"Just do what you need to do, we'll talk later. Alright?"

Sif has posed:
"...alright."

Sif shoved her fork into her food, no longer caring about it at all. She had a bad feeling and her heart was sinking.

"Thank you. For taking care of them. Watching over the ranch." It was just him. She hadn't asked him. She did have people hired for those tasks as well, since neither she nor he could be there at all times. But still he took care of it. For her. It just showed how sweet he was.

"I...will go now then?" Since she felt like he was wanting her off the phone with that phrasing. "I will call soon."

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
"Alright," And she heard his voice growing stronger, "You got this, Sif. You'll do what needs doing. I have confidence in you." She can almost hear the smile as he says those words.
There's a pause, "I'll look forward to hearing you, take care, darlin'." And then the phone clicks off.
