Cast of Characters: Elektra Natchios, June Connor

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"Again."

Elektra had been back to the condo for a few nights now when June eventually came back to. And what had been the first thing that Elektra had put June doing? Training, of course. With a blindfold. Getting that blind fighting training going because 'you have been too lax'. Elektra's words, of course.

It meant going through various martial arts forms, along with parrying blows from Elektra which could come from unexpected angles.

So yes, quite a fun return!

"Where do you know Roland from?" she asks out of the blue.

Elektra keeps tabs on June? Who woulda guessed.

June Connor has posed:
June's recent mission could have gone better regarding real life blind fighting. She lived, so that was a win, right? She didn't have room to complain, though, given that she had to admit she wished she had paid better attention during this part of her training.

She shakes her left hand, which just landed a block wrong. She blocked the strike, but it smarted because she wasn't as exact as she should have been. "Roland? June asks. "Who told you about Roland?" she returns the question rather than particularly answering it as she prepares for the next defense, listening closely for movement.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Answering with a question? So uncouth. It means the strike that comes in a notch harder than the ones before, making the bokken shudder with the impact. "Are you that surprised that I know the things I do?" she lets out a chuckle, her feet padding quietly across the training mat.

"Turns out I actually know the man. Go figure." The smirk on her voice audible. "Don't worry, it wasn't him that spilled the beans."

Another strike then a quick retreat.

June Connor has posed:
June brings hers up to defend, but too slow, the bamboo slaps against her shoulder. That'll mark. "Fuck!" she winces. "Not surprised, just tryin' to figure out who the hell you got stalkin' me all the time."

The second blow is blocked with June slashing back, missing the very small window to return the attack as her own bokken whisps the air.

"We went on a date!" she answers with her strike, listening for the return after she misses with her counter.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"I do have quite a few allies in Gotham now." But in true Elektra fashion she isn't revealing who those allies are! So mysterious ..., so infuriating.

Not that it seems that she was expecting that revelation of a date because some silence follows it. There's another slash at midsection but not too hard to parry before she raises her weapon to parry a counter back at her.

"A date." She finally says, "Now that I didn't know. Didn't think you did dates." Is her tone one of approval? Hard to figure considering June can't see her face. But would that help in anything?

June Connor has posed:
June notes the silence. Did she surprise Elektra? She blocks the strike at her mid and swings high, though outside the parry range, bringing the bokken all the way around for a strike at the shins, trying to capitalize on the moment. "Why shouldn't I do dates? He's hot and rich. Though he's got a bad habit of vanishing and giving stories about fighting off people who are trying t o steal his rich kid shit."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
A laugh. "Maybe it's more that I didn't think you went beyond the first date. At least you never did on previous ones."

Elektra has to jump to dodge the return strike from the bokken at her shins. Perhaps it would had hit if June wasn't blindfolded at the moment. "You are improving." Elektra notes, gaining some distance before approaching again, circling around the girl.

"Maybe you are finally starting to absorb my lessons." It almost sounded like a compliment!

June Connor has posed:
"Well, getting almost murdered by cyborgs does that," June confesses. She turns after a moment to continue facing Elektra once she senses her new position.

"I dunno, he's okay," she comments on Roland. "Probably won't last," she notes. "But ya know, enjoy it while it does. Carp dem and stuff," yep, she just mispronounced the latin horribly. She tilts her head a little, as if gauging something.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Carpe Dem?! Oh, it's a nice bait. It even makes Elektra smile. Or at least Elektra really hopes that it's a bait aimed at Elektra to berate June so she can detect where she is coming from. No such luck though. She continues moving in silence even if she doesn't attack right after. Letting June get used to that feeling of having to rely on her other senses than her vision.

Yes, quite good. At least she is showing patience now.

The new strike comes, bokken coming down on a frontal arc towards June. "Soon enough you might be able to move from apprentice."

June Connor has posed:
"So," June asks during the silence. "Now I gotta ask, why do you know Roland? Please don't tell me he's secretly a Hand assassin." Everybody seems to be these days. The blindfolded head of June turns not toward Elektra, but in the wrong direction just before the strike. It would seem that she was off.

A split instant later, though, it's revealed as bait, as she shoves forward on one foot toward Elektra in a burst mid stride. Her bokken is held horizontally before her in both hands, which would be a clear killing blow as she ducked her head forward. Elektra's bokken smacks down upon her back, but it's a sacrifice injury for what would be an all in victory in return. the Picts would be proud.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
As the bokken smacks on June's back Elektra notes the sacrifice strike for the killing blow. "Not bad. But do you think you'd live?" she straightens back to her full height after the exchange of blows.

"That's a last resort only, June." The sound of her putting the bokken away at the weapon stand signals that the lesson is most likely over.

As for Roland? "I met him ..., maybe one or two years ago at the hellfire club." she tells the girl. "Rich one, with a penchant for archeology. Some good old fashioned Indiana Jones type."

June Connor has posed:
June hears the bokken put away. "Maybe not, but then who does, right?" she asks, nice morbidity laced in to her response. "We all die of somethin'." She pulls the blindfold off, blinking a few times to get used to the light again, and pads in bare feet to the stand to put hers away. "Yeah, saw him there after I thought he was dead or something a couple months ago again. You shoulda seen him squirm when I asked what happened. Was kind of adorable," she says with a sly smile. Did June seriously call something adorable?
