Date of Scene: 09 January 2023
Location: Hyperspace
Synopsis: Steve and Yondu chat.
Cast of Characters: Yondu Udonta, Thor

Yondu Udonta has posed:
In the docking area, Yondu was on the ground eyeing the area that was being worked on by a pair of crew members. "Make sure you triple check. We don't want to lose that thruster when we get out near the singularities again. We'll end up makin' a left into one of them holes and then we're all screwed."

He walked over to check on the cargo that was being loaded. Enough supplies to hold the crew over for six months. Though the plan was only to be out for three this time.

"Double up the rum." Then he was moving forward again, the Ravager trench billowing behind him as he walked to the next point to check. He might be a grim captain and could kill someone for looking at him the wrong way but he was damned good at it and it showed in times like this.

Thor has posed:
There was plenty to be done in the prep time and many of the crew were focused on their particular specialty. Which, on this day, included the one they have come to know as SteveRogers, for his current role amongst the Ravagers? Was fetching and carrying things that were damned heavy. And he did it well.
Up the ramp he came with a large shrink-wrapped missile container surrounded by living flame retardant foam that chirped and cheeped as it did what it was bio-engineered for, keeping the missiles safe and non-explodey. The foundling they had brought into their crew was carrying a six pack of the things on one shoulder and each was a good seven feet long and packed with enough atommics to make a cruiser quail with fright. But he handled them as if they were nothing more than a stack of 2x4s.
"These are to the armory, or are they meant for the weapons themselves?" He paused and asked Yondu, since those were the two places he knew where he had seen such things.

Yondu Udonta has posed:
Hearing the voice, Yondu looked up and his eyebrows rose up in surprise. "Damn, boy. Ya got that strength back and more. Ah'm startin' t' think you could lift the whole Eclector if you had a mind to." Which was terrifyingly impressive. As long as SteveRogers stayed on their side though, everything should be fine.

"Armory for now. The weapons are already stocked up." Since they kept them at the ready since one never knew when another Ravager might get froggy and decide to attack their ship. After all, they were currently not considered part of that group, despite seeing themselves as Ravagers still.

"When you get that done, come talk t' me."

Thor has posed:
"I doubt it," The good SteveRogers says as he stops for a brief moment. "Crewman Yangk was telling me it was likely I come form a high gravity planet of some sort." Steve starts to walk again, heavy footfalls loud upon the metal cargo bay. "He said he could find out if he took a sample of my internal organs but I..."
He turns a little to look over his shoulder and says, "Did not think that wise." Which shows that he is perhaps starting to smarten up a little about his fellow crew-members.
But then he was heading down the hall to the armory. His new hand touched the control panel and it beeped and buzzed at him denying him access. Yet he did what he saw other crewmen do and so he just thumped it again with his hand and then it beeped but this time allowed him through to deposite the weapons.

Yondu Udonta has posed:
"Yeah, you made the right call on that one."

Since Yangk probably just wanted to eat whatever he obtained from inside SteveRogers. But Yondu wisely chose not to mention that part. "We might be able t' test your blood or such but yer species has t' be in the databases for it to even help. And with so many systems and not all of them on file..."

It was like a needle in a haystack. "They couldn't do it here. Maybe Knowhere. They have more advanced. We can do that after we finish this sailing. What'cha think? Or you not so worried about it and just want t' settle in t' your new life?"

Thor has posed:
The man disappears into the room for a bit and there's the sound of a heavy _thud_ as the missiles are stowed, along with the cheep-cheep-squeak of the living anti-flame foam. A few moments later he comes back out, dusting his hands off and looking across the way to Yondu, continuing the conversation as if there was no interruption.
"Perhaps," Good SteveRogers says as he tilts his head, "I do not feel the burning need to find out my origins, I feel as if... there may be something else more important but..." He shakes his head, "No, I will pay back what I owe first, and perhaps then we will part ways as I try to seek something then."

Yondu Udonta has posed:
"Sounds good!" Yondu agreed, attempting to thump SteveRogers on the back with a single heavy hand. Not hard, just that friendly moment between two friends. Not that they were actually friends. The hand would be gone as fast as it landed, if it even made contact.

"Ah got yer tally all worked up and each day, Ah tick off some of it for yer work." Then he lowered his voice a little and spoke in a conspiratoral tone. "Ah even take off some extra cause ya do the work o' three of the regular crew."

Then he was back to speaking in a normal voice. "If ya wanted to pursue this life, Ah can see ya makin' cap'n in short order. Get your own ship and fleet of M-Ships. Run yer own crew. I'll give you Taserface for free," he added with a wicked grin.

Thor has posed:
The tall man does not mind the thump to his back.
A laugh comes from the man, deep and resonant in his chest as he shakes his head. "It takes something special to lead men in such a way, Captain. I doubt I could replicate your efforts. I think perhaps in time I will... seek out my origins and see what my past may have been." He lifts a hand to rub at the back of his neck, still feeling the stubble and scruff of his hair growing in oddly. He then gives a nod.
"But then again who knows what may pass?" He starts to head back down the ramp, "Perhaps after I have found what I could I will return and seek a berth on your next voyage. Hopefully I shall still be welcome." He stops at the bottom of the ramp and grabs the next large container, hefting it up with a _grunt_ and locking it to his shoulder as he starts back up.

Yondu Udonta has posed:
Yondu was used to all sorts of species. He knew some were far stronger than others. Yet, he couldn't help but be amazed each time this man before him just picked up things like that. After all, Yondu hadn't had any of those low-gravity types on his ship before. It was rather nice.

"SteveRogers, yer always gonna be welcome on mah ship."

What perhaps was most shocking? He actually meant it. He liked SteveRogers. Not just as a work horse or pile of credits saved since they were getting more work out of him than they had spent getting him fixed. But just in general. And it wasn't because of that compliment either! He didn't just fall for pretty words.

Then he saw the sparks coming from over by that thruster. "DAMMIT! What did Ah just tell you boys?!" And he was off to deal with the potential disaster in the birthing.
