Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Monica Chang, Jessica Drew

Monica Chang has posed:
Weapons Testing was a popular area of the Triskelion and often was busy. Thus why Monica preferred to wait until later in the evenings or wee hours of the morning to come play with her new toys.

The toy in question was a Hydra drone that had been captured and reprogrammed by her. Though she'd had it for a while, she had been using it to created fake snow in the Playground to go along with the garish decorating they had done for the season. Now she had put the weapons back in place on it and brought it here for testing. Though she also had a sidearm for use as well, though right now her focus was on the sleek drone in the air.

She brought it into line with the targets and pushed the button on the controller she was holding to fire a few rounds at the target down range.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Weapons was a getaway area for the ones with the classification high enough to badge through the doors. It's the unofficial proverbial water cooler for classified projects. No one below a certain grade risked overhearing agents spitball about the latest missions so Fury and the higher ups let it serve as an unofficial 'think tank.'

Coffee cup in hand, R&D has the best coffee in the building besides the VIP coffee kept for visitors on the top floors, Jess badges in and immediately goes to the coffee machine to fill up. She has a com link snuggled under her dark hair, connecting her to the night desk. She is dressed in jeans, an oversized sweater and knee high boots good for the snow. Snow fell for a week and the roads still have 4 foot banks of snow obscuring the view.

She heads straight for Monica's office. Heading for the smartest head on duty at the moment, to chew the fat.

Monica Chang has posed:
Monica was not to be found at her desk but there was a note she would be at the range. Since they did have a small one that allowed for them to test things they built. R&D was a lot like a Q lab from a Bond film, with all sorts of insanity potentially happening at any time.

Monica frowned and brought down the drone, turning everything off and quickly popping off a panel. She pulled out a small screwdriver and started to adjust something within.

The sound of the door behind her had the agent glancing that way. Monica was dressed casually today. Jeans, boots, a Captain America t-shirt under a gray hoodie though the jacket was open at the moment. She smiled brightly upon seeing who was coming to join her. "Hello, Jessica. I hope you're well?"

Jessica Drew has posed:
"Yep," she returns the smile with warmth. Jess liked the Agent from the moment she met her.

"Hi, Monica. That looks fun. If you're busy I can just hang out in the lounge." She takes a few steps in, eyes riveted on the drone.

"Which model is that? Are those one of the ones Foster has following her around?"

Monica Chang has posed:
"You're welcome to stay. I like having company," Monica admitted as she made another adjustment inside the metallic beast. Then she closed the compartment and moved to fire everything back up. Once it was 'live', she manned the controller. It rose into the air and she fired two more rounds then landed and shut it down before pushing a button to pull the target closer for inspection.

"Oh no, this was one we caught from Hydra a few months back. A model we hadn't seen before. We've made hard copies of all the details and now I'm working on changing it a bit to see what we can get out of her." She patted the metallic bit affectionately. "She almost killed me once but we've gotten over that."

Jessica Drew has posed:
Jess takes a sip of coffee then puts it on a nearby table. "Good going. Got a muzzle on it, do you? The HYDRA drones can bite."

A few more steps bring her next to Monica, and she squats, butt nearly touching the ground, to stare at the flying robot. "What are you expecting to get out of it? Think you can turn it?" She is silent thinking for a moment before adding, "We are going to need something close to tactical nukes for the upcoming mission. I wouldn't be surprised if even HYDRA is going to be fighting them."

Monica Chang has posed:
"Oh yeah, she's all tame now. After I took her apart and put her back together, I took the time to go through her entire software line by line."

Though Monica is a graduate of the Red Room, she is also a walking/talking geek. She loves her computers and robotics and has a degree in Artificial Intelligence. "I'm going to see if I can get her thinking for herself in time but for now, took out all their backdoors and now going to see if I can get her approved for field work."

Though she did turn her attention fully on Jessica's last. "Which mission is that? Or is it classified?"

Jessica Drew has posed:
"Not below your rank." Jess frowns and wraps her hands around her knees, rocking back a little, her attention focused on the tamed killer drone. "Besides, you were on the mission in Canada. Word is they are back."

She raises her vivid green eyes and focuses on Monica, "You saw what it took to take that one down. What do you think we are going to do with a squad of them?"

Monica Chang has posed:
"I don't mind being dragged into stuff. I tend to volunteer when I shouldn't. Especially if it'll be a good fight. I need to keep myself active."

She popped off the cover of the drone, revealing all the inner workings. Then she attached a cable to her laptop as it downloaded some data.

Her focus was on Jessica though. Monica winced at the memory of that fight. "It took all we had. A squad or worse an army is going to be out of our league unless we get some powered types involved. Lots of powered types." Since Jessica is one, Monica knows she'd be on the squad. Monica was more low level since she was still in human limitations.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Arms still wrapped around her knees, Jess rocks in place considering powered types. "More powerful than me, then. The big guns, maybe Stark. I dunno, the magic types, maybe." She nods abruptly, inhaling quickly. "Everything we've got, I imagine. A clean nuke might take them out if they don't shield or suck it into another dimension. I think they can do that."

Nodding several times, "They definitely outrank me." Her eyes grow distant for a moment and she grins suddenly, "Did you notice if it had pointy ears or not?"

Monica Chang has posed:
"Admittedly, I wasn't looking at it's ears. And after what Natasha did to it, I couldn't tell from what was left."

Since the Widow had made sure it wasn't getting up once they finally got it down. Monica gave a little shrug. "I'm going to assume they do. But it's sad they aren't more like...I dunno. Legolas versus scary Orcs."

Welcome back to geekdome since that was Monica's jam. Though she wasn't sure if if Jessica knew about the Lord of the Rings movies or not.

Jessica Drew has posed:
"I could deal with Legolas well enough. We could manage Orcs. Sauron might be harder. These things are like mini-Saurons and we don't have a Ring to throw in the fire." Her grin widens. Geeks unite!

The grin fades and her eyes widen as she asks, "Nothing coming down the pipeline yet to take care of them? You saw, the thing flinched at a rail gun."

Monica Chang has posed:
"Yeah, but we don't have enough railguns to give to everyone," Monica bemoaned as she settled down crosslegged on the floor to fiddle with her drone. It was probably the size of her head and had several systems including weapons. Though the weapons systems were trickiest since they needed energy weapons instead of ballistic, due to the weight. Still, she was trying out different options.

"WAND should've gotten us a ring by now, one would think. I begin to wonder what they are doing down there." It was mostly a joke. They did a lot of stuff in WAND. But Monica being tech minded found magic harder to understand and thus easier to be dismissive. "We are gonna need some bigger wizards or something."

Jessica Drew has posed:
"WAND."She elongates the word. "Magic types, wizards," Jess repeats the words with an edge of disbelief.

"If we are dealing with Asgardian types then I guess their type of magic comes with the turf. So where are they? Or is the ring still being tested?"

Monica Chang has posed:
"I doubt they actually made one. I mean that'd be the first thing I'd be trying to do if I worked in WAND though," Monica admits with an unapologetic smile.

But she sobered a moment later. "I read the report on the second site that was found. At least they didn't have to fight one of them." She gave a little shudder but then popped the top back on the drone. "Though it sounds like about the same. People sacrificed. Though this time they seem to have raised up some sort of Dark Elf spaceship battleship dreadnaught thing."

She pushed the buttons to activate the drone then offered the controller to Jessica. "Want to take her for a spin? Just don't push the trigger unless you are pointed downrange please."

Jessica Drew has posed:
"Trigger, huh?" Jess straightens and reaches for the controller. "Seems straightforward enough." The drone wobbles for a moment then takes off across the range. Motor skills, Jess has them in spades. It whirs and whips around to come back toward them at high speed until she puts on the brakes. It drifts over their heads with the forward momentum.

Head back to watch the drone, Jess slowly spins it and presses the firing trigger. A wisp of smoke drifts up into the air from the target. "Whoa. Nice." She refocuses on Monica, "Too bad about the ring, I heard something about that mission. Not good," she shakes her head. "Spider sense tells me they don't look like fun at all."

Monica Chang has posed:
"Ship looked sort of like an arrowhead or spear tip. From the visuals that were shared in the report. I have no idea. I just wish there was something that I could do at my level to help try to predict the next attack."

Monica watched the performance of the drone in action as Jessica got the hang of it, flying her like an expert. Then that shot that went dead center of the target. "Targetting seems fixed. Yay."

But then back to the conversation at hand. "Hopefully the magic types can track it and help us prevent the next one instead of showing up after the fact."

Jessica Drew has posed:
"We are reacting to them while they set the schedule." Jess hands the controller back to Monica. "I'll test them anytime. I like operating stuff like this. We need a couple hundred of those in a place of the One Ring."

She retrieves her cooling coffee from the table. "I'd like to see that visual. Maybe we should bring our Shi'ar in on this. He might know the ship type. Ships aren't magic."

A finger to her ear, she listens for a moment, "We have something upstairs. Good talking to you. Let me know if you need a tester," she says over her shoulder as she heads out of the range. "Let's have lunch together sometime if we are on the same watch. Bye."
