Cast of Characters: Divine, Molly Hayes

Divine has posed:
Some few days ago. A Sunday, in fact. A pleasant, unseasonably warm day in New York City. (Unseasonably warm in February means forty-five degrees.) The sun shines in the sky, the sound of traffic resounds through the steel canyons of the city, but in Central Park, it's muted. The outside sounds are quieter, some birds have decided to sing their hopeful little songs. The Parks Department has even decided to turn the Cherry Hill Fountain on.

This is where we find Divine. She's seated on a bench, just watching the fountain and having a moment of zen. Or just focusing her hearing solely on the rushing water. She's dressed like 1/3 of NYC's women, leggings, a baggy hoodie and nearly knee high combat boots. She seems tranquil. At peace. For now.

Molly Hayes has posed:
Unseasonably warm for Molly means a fluffy pink hoodie of her own and ... leggings, too. Well, Molly is definitely one of the one-third, but her leggings are worn under cargo pants. And her shoes aren't combat boots! They're some well-worn and well-loved old Converse sneakers. And. Is that. A jetpack on her back? Huh.

Jetpack Princess isn't swoooping down into the fountain area, though, no. She's walking with a bag in one hand, and a hot beverage cup in the other. Seems it's a great time for lunch, and the blonde's HotD (Hat of the Day) is a bright white-and-pink axolotl hat. Just big bright eyes and those pink frills and white material. She stands out even more than usual!

Maybe she's hungry or maybe Divine's outfit is just that obscuring because she hasn't officially noticed her yet...

Divine has posed:
The clone has been sitting here for a while in her pseudo-medatative state. People have been flowing through the park. Joggers, dog walkers. Bikes and skateboards. She hasn't flinched.

The Hat, makes her blink. Her movement is sudden, like coming out of a daze. She shakes her head and stops slouching, sitting up and squinting at Molly as she wanders by. The hat caught her attention, but the -jetpack- makes her actually speak. Granted, it's mostly to herself, but she isn't quiet.

"Is that a jetpack? What the hell?"

Molly Hayes has posed:
Damn right it's a jetpack! A futuristic-looking one, too! Not like some analog Rocketeer-looking thing! Molly just happily plops herself down on the edge of the fountain. She sets the cup at her side and reaches into the bag to pull out a handful of french fries and nomfs down on them. She looks happy as a clam! And then she hears Divine.

The girl munches down her fries really quick and calls out in reply, "Heckin' yeah~!" she grins, kicking her legs some, careful not to lean back into the water. "It's mine, too! Isn't it awesome?"

Divine has posed:
Apparently the Kryptonian spoke louder than she thought she did. She at least has the good grace to look embarassed. "Sorry. Didn't mean to intrude," she says politely. "You just don't see that every day. Then again, it's not something I've ever considered. Since I can fly already."

She appraises the young woman from her seat on the bench. That, right there, is a literal bundle of joy. There's shades of Marie-Ange in there, but the energy level is through the roof. And probably less French.

Molly Hayes has posed:
Maybe it's the cold air that makes things louder, or Divine was speaking louder than she intended. But Molly shakes her head, "Nah! S'fine!" she grins. She really is a bundle of joy. The cold isn't bothering her, there's a steaming cup of something next to her, and both hands reach into the bag and pull out a burger that's absolutely huge.

"Hey... do I know you?" she asks, tilting her head and looking over to Divine. "I swear we've met somewhere before!" Crinkle crinkle. She opens up the burger and then NOMF!

Divine has posed:
For someone who doesn't really need to eat a lot of food, it fascinates her. Divine tilts her head slightly as Molly just goes to town on her lunch. For someone who is better than a full foot shorter than she is, she's doing a number on it. She smiles slightly, she finds the enthusiasm endearing. It kind of reminds her of herself, if a few orders of magnitude more exuberant about it.

"I don't think we have, no. I'd remember your energy levels if we did."

Molly Hayes has posed:
She really does go to down on that burger. For a girl with strength and sturdiness like hers, she really needs to pile away those calories and carbs. She's finally starting to grow a little even! A couple of inches over those last few years. She's halfway through the burger, and surprisingly not very messily, when she looks over at Divine again.

She ponders, staring, taking in her features. And then those bright brown eyes of hers light up and she bobs her head, the coral-hued fins of her hat-xolotl wibbling and wobbling. "Nuh uh! I remember you!" she calls out, after swallowing. "..you're.. um.. um.. there was a thing you were fighting.. an'... Superman an' Supergirl were there! And I almost got squishied by a building that fell...!"

She's nodding so fast that her hat's fins are waving about a whole bunch. A small dog who has sat down nearby expecting some of Molly's food ends up falling over, dizzy, from watching them. "...thassit! Spider-Man's pajamas, you're goth Power Girl!" Then her cheeks turn pink, "...cuz... I dunno your actual name."

Divine has posed:
Memories flash through Divine's head. A being, a person, they call Parasite. Wrecking things in Metropolis where she just so happened to be with Emma. It was a while ago, so she can't remember why, but she was so, so angry. She remembers her fist quivering as she thought about hitting him one more time.

"Oh. That. Right. My name is Divine."

Molly Hayes has posed:
"Oh wow! That's a fancy name!" Molly beams, then finishes her burger. She crumples up the wrapper and stuffs it in the bag before pulling out a napkin. She cleans off her hands and promptly stands up. Taking all of her stuff with her, she just. Approaches Divine without a care in the world. That poor dog will never recover, however.

"I'm Molly!" she says, exuberant, smiling. "You want some of my fries?" she offers, taking a sip of what must be hot cocoa from the scent. "...it's cuz of the Supes and you that I really wanted to be able to fly. That's so cool, yuo're so cool."

Divine has posed:
Divine smiles slightly, almost shyly. Sure, she can have a big personality, but she's really just trying to find her place in the world now and, well, this is part of it. Meeting people. Going places. She politely waves off the offer of sharing. "I don't really need to eat that much." She points at the sun. "I get most of my energy from that. Thank you for offering, though. You're very kind."

She actually blushes when Molly says she's cool. "I'm ... I'm not cool. Not really. I just ... I'm learning what it means to be who I am. What I am. I'm just trying to be a good person." Most of the time, anyway.

Molly Hayes has posed:
"Huh?" Molly blinks, glancing up towards the sky. When the big yellow ball of pain hits the edge of her vision she stops. "Oh! Right! Crypt.. cryptocur... no, not doge coin. Um. Kryptonian, right?" she asks softly, then just takes a seat next to Divine without even asking. She has to lean forward, though, because of the jetpack.

"Hey! It's hard to be a good person! There's, like, so much you could -do- with all your power. But being cool is using your strength for good stuff! It's why I only punch bad guys. And bullies. But bullies are bad guys before they can become extra bad bad guys... they suck..." she mmphs softly. Then her expression softens, "...look... it's like. Be responsible with all the cool stuff you can do, you know? And if you're already /trying/ then that's... already a super huge step."

Divine has posed:
Divine has no objection to Molly sitting there. It must be a comical sight given the height difference. Even the adorable hat can only add so much. She peers down at Molly, listening to her earnestly. She smiles again. "You know, someone just told me basically the same thing in flowery language. It must be good advice."

She looks up at the sky for a minute. "I didn't ask to be made. I didn't ask to get tossed out onto the street with nothing but hate and bitterness in my heart." She looks at Molly again. "If not for a single twist of fate, you might have been fighting me in Metropolis that day. I guess that's all it can take. One action. One hand held out in kindness can change someone's life. It's good advice."

Molly Hayes has posed:
If Divine isn't going to eat Molly's fries, then Molly absolutely will. She's munching away happily while Divine waxes nostalgic about how fates could be tangled in certain ways. Then she blinks, sucking the salt off of her fingers before taking a napkin to them. "...ain't that funny though?" she offers with a sideways smile.

"I mean, I didn't ask to be made super strong. And. I certainly didn't ask for my parents to wind up being murderous supervillains... but... it's like playing Go Fish. Sometimes you've got the right cards in your hand, and sometimes you gotta draw. But with life... um... you can just. Tell the person you don't wanna play Go Fish.." she loses the metaphor suddenly and scratches her cheek.

"...what I'm trying to say is... it.. doesn't matter where we come from? I could.. be dead. Or evil. But. My friends helped me. And. Just because my folks were baddies doesn't make it a foregone conclusion that I'll be a baddie too... you know?" she gives a lopsided smile.

Divine has posed:
"You're pretty wise, Molly," Divine says with a smile. She wonders what it's like to have supervillain parents. Then she wonders what it's like to have parents at all. Family is something she's only starting to learn about. It's ... nice.

Her leg bounces a bit, and she looks up. "I'm ... I'm starting to feel restless. ... Wanna fly around?"

Molly Hayes has posed:
"Nah, not wise. Just. Been through a lot, y'know?" Molly shrugs, bobbing her head some more. She finishes the food and stands up, crumpling up the bag and tossing it in the nearby bin. The hot cup is pulled into both hands and she tilts her head. "...restless...?" she asks. Then her eyes widen and brighten. "Fly around? With you? Really?!"

Divine has posed:
"Finish your drink," Divine says with a smile, setting her feet. "Once that's done, see if you can keep up."

Just like she said, she waits for Molly to finish her drink and dispose of the trash. She grins at the shorter woman, blue eyes twinkling. "Three...two...one...Go!"

Divine bends her knees a little and shoves hard against the ground, rocketing into the sky. She's holding back, wanting to see what kind of speed Molly can pull. ... Is that a giggle?

Molly Hayes has posed:
"Huh? Oh!" Molly nods and pops the top off of her cup with a little 'pop!' noise. All she did was squeeze the cup! Then she downs the whole thing in like two gulps. She's so excited! Did it burn? Maybe. If she were a normal human. Then she pulls out the controls for the jetpack, holding them out in front of her.

"Ooohkaaaay I haven't like, tried to race anyone in this yet... and. It can't go SUPER fast... but..." she nods during the countdown and when Divine bends and leaps, so does Molly!

The jetpack flares to life, scaring that poor dog even more as it rushes back to whichever horrible owner left it off of its leash to talk to a cute girl or something, and WOOSH! She's up into the sky, the little fins of her hat going woobleoobloobloobl from the speed. Good thing it's on tight!
