Cast of Characters: Emma Frost, Madelyne Pryor

Emma Frost has posed:
Currently it's late at night over in the Hellfire Club's public area. Emma Frost, former White Queen of the Inner Circle, currently sits with a goblet of wine in her hand at the late hour. Some music is playing along from a passing violinist in the club. Of all things Emma has a book in front of her. An old looking one. Darwin's 'The Origin of the Species' - by the age of it a very, very old one that looks horribly ratty. Occasionally taking a sip from her wine as she would go through it.

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
It is pretty clear that the red head does not /exactly/ know what she is doing where she is. She is not dressed in the typical attire of the place - she has a pleated green skirt, thigh high socks a bit too thick to be considered stockings, mary janes, and a white tube top. And her eyes keep scanning around as if she is not quite sure what she is looking for. But as the music goes, so too does her body, moving almost intuitively along with the rhythm as she makes her way in from the exit towards the bar. Madelyne was not surprised when she was let in without paying a cover charge. Something about her face just seems to open doors here in New York City.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would glance over at the woman entering for a moment. Something almost reminding her of someone else before it would quickly fade. She would glance over at Madelyne and give her a gesture, "You look like someone who came here and was stood up." Emma would offer idly. "So are you seeing whomever invited you around or not?" That just seems the most immediate reason the womanw ould be here and be looking about. Her outfit doesn't look nearly as high class as it takes to be a normal type in the club.

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
There is something about the woman who sets Madelyne at edge. A gut instinct. She is on her guard, but the woman seems friendly enough. "No, not really," she says, making her way over towards the bar where the woman is seated. "No one standing me up, at least." She glances around for a moment, and then turns her gaze back to Emma. "Just looking around, honestly."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would nod over at Madelyne, "Ah, a rather different place to stroll into." Amused by the fact that security was sloppy enough to l et someone off teh streets meander through. "Charmed then. And do you think you've come across anything itneresting, then?"

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
"Well, something, I don't know. Something tugged at me." Madelyne shrugs. "Like I had some kind of dream that I had been here before, or something." She glances around again, and then looks back to Emma, shrugging. "I just got here, really. So, not sure yet. Just obvioiusly that I am..." she waves a hand at one of the couples walking by in Victorian garb. "Not properly dressed for the place."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would ahh, "I see. A dream?" Curious and unusual. Glancing over at Madelyne, "No, you don't appear to be. But there must to be something to it, given you weren't shown the other end of the front door upon entry. So do you remember more of the particulars of it? If you had to dream your little dream?"

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
Shaking her head, Madelyne chuckles. "Not a real dream, I don't think." She turns back to look at Emma. "You ever have one of those moments where it feels like something has happened before, and you don't know why? And the best guess is that you are remembering something from a dream, as if it were real, and that's why you feel it?" She shrugs. "Something like that."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would mm, "I can't suppose I have. I always put them more over to whimsy and distraction, and I soon forget about them. Too much to do, too many things to attend to let my attention slide. I believe the concept is called deja vu."

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
Nodding slowly, Madelyne smiles. "Yes, of course. But I meant, there has to be some reason for it, right?" She shrugs, and looks over to the bar for a moment, as if contemplating a drink, before looking back to Emma. "Anyway. No, I don't know why I'm here. Why not be here, though?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would mm, "Oh, doing some reading." SHe would casually push the book to the side, "A recent acquisition from an auction. I thought I might as well review it while I was already here and ha dpicked it up. And who are you by the way? A pleasure to meet you."

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
"Madelyne," she says with a smile. "And you haven't read it before?" she asks, looking down to the book. "It's been a fundamental piece of science for over a century." She considers Emma once more. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to seem pretentious."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would shake her head, "Oh, no." She would push it over, "This particular version? One of the men along on some of the original expeditions with him jotted down thier own notes and observations in it." She would open a page, showing scribbles all over old, old pages.

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
An eyebrow arches, and Madelyne leans over to peer down at the page. "Ah, now that IS cool," she says with a bit of a grin. "Ok, my apologies. Didn't mean to be snarky." She peers at it a bit closer, as if trying to read some of the notations. "Fascinating."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would smile, "Yes. And no problem. I'm well aware that us among the so-called upper classes have a strong and quite reasonable reputation for such horrid intellectual awareness. But, one gets an idea often for how someone conducts themselves and their methodology not through thier own notes.. But from thier assistants."

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
Frowning, Madelyne shakes her head. "That wasn't what I was implying at all, just meant..." She sighs, and shakes her head. "Just didn't realize you had a primary source here, is all." She peers down at it again, and then smiles. "I agree. What goes into the finished produc tis not nearly as intresting as what was left out."
