Cast of Characters: Jeanne-Marie Beaubier, Sebastian Shaw

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
Aurora though rather new as a member of the club, considering some having had generational memberships for decades, still has a modicum of access to Shaw, if only through the unusual manner in which she procured her membership status. So she takes advantage and arranges for a meeting with Shaw, at his conveience, and when it's finally time, she arrives.

While not dress for a fancy outing at the club, one would expect someone like Aurora to go for attention grabbing even when she opts for casual. Naturally her choice of daisy dukes, and a midriff exposing off the shoulder top that keeps slipping down the length of her arm in an ever suggestive pending wardrobe malfunction, serves for drawing attention enough. Paired with an elegant, bejeweled strapped sandals, she grins at the sight of Shaw, "oh Mr. Shaw, I am so very glad you could make the time for me! I had a pressing question, that only someone like you could properly guide me on."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
Sebastian Shaw is certainly used to the women of the club seeking him out for various and sundry requests and favors. And he has come to determine that the smaller the outfit, the larger the request. So as he steps into the office an d beholds Aurora, his smile grows fairly broad as he looks her over.

"I am honored that you think my guidance would be of such value," he replies smoothly as he approaches her, his gaze eventually making it up to her eyes. "I do my best to make time for all members of the Club, but obviously some earn greater..." He glances down at her again for a moment, his traditional overdressed attire of purple Victorian style jacket, black waistcoast, and black breeches a stark contrast, and then up again to smile at her. "Priority. How can I help?"

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"Well...you're such a successful businessman, I'm sure you already know more than I'll ever learn," Aurora laughs as she approaches, and leans her rear against the conference table, "well...you know how I'm doing modelling, and I did recently land a role in the new Count of Monte Cristo production, heard of it? It's a movie...should be fun!" She meanders a moment, and then snaps her fingers, "oh, right, so...I met this lady, Emma Frost, in the club...and she's offered to be my agent. At first I was really excited, but then I thought, maybe instead of rushing into thing...I should take advantage of well, my smart friend Mr. Shaw, and see if you have any advice? Like, do you know Emma Frost at all?"

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Well, I have picked up a thing here or there in my years at work, yes," replies Sebastian with a smile as he draws closer towards where she stands. There is, of course, a tray with brandy and two glasses left out in anticipation of the meeting, but those remain untouched for the moment. "I had not heard that they were making another film, but it is a timeless tale and I would be eager to see it faithfully recreated on film once more."

He laughs softly at Aurora's question, amusement plain on his face as she asks. "Ah, yes. Ms. Frost is quite a cunning businesswoman, I will give her that. Shrewd, and ruthless. I am not sure that she has ever made a deal where she did not come out on top." He pauses for reflection for a moment, tilting his head. "Or whatever position she choose to be in, I should say." His gaze moves back to meet Aurora's. "She would, no doubt, extract as much from the studio as is possible on your behalf, I am quite certain. The question would be whether that would be to _your_ benefit, or to hers?"

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"It's quite fun, I get to wear all these ridiculous dresses like they used to? I don't even know how they managed...like, it's fun for a dress up, but they're not very easy to move around in," Aurora shares a bit from her experience thus far, eyes spotting the brandy, and she reaches to take a glass and sip. Feeling quite at ease. "So she's looking to take advantage over me you think?" Aurora asks, taking note of the word of choice, cunning. She giggles a moment after the slight offer, once she picks on it, "oh, I take it you've seen her in a position or two?" She asks in gossipy excitement. "Right...so I should be careful working with her, huh? Mmmm...I wonder if I should get a lawyer or something, those guys are hella boring...but like, they know this business stuff pretty good."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Oh, you would be surprised just how well people can move in these older styles," replies Sebastian with a grin. He watches her reach for a glass and he follows suit, leaning a bit past her to pour and claim his own glass. "The only thing people in the world are to Ms. Frost are rivals and prey, and if you are not her rival..." He turns the glass around in his hand for a moment, allowing that to hang for a beat or two. He laughs softly at her Jeanne-Marie's excited statement. "A gentleman would never say such things, were they to be true, my dear. I have always considered discretion to be one of my higher manners."

"What benefit is she offering to you as your agent? A lawyer could negotiate any of the contracts for you, without needing her. As an agent she would be needing to find additional work or opportunities for you. If she is not bringing that to the table, then she is merely taking from you what you have already achieved for yourself."

He glances down at the table, and Jeanne-Marie's lean on it, considering. "You have brought yourself to the table. You likely do not need her." He brings the glass to his lips. "What you do need is someone you can trust looking out for your interests, who can assist you in navigating these perilous waters." He takes a long sip from the brandy. "We have plenty of members for whom this is their stock and trade. I could have any of them here within an hour to consult with you and I."

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"Oh?" Aurora sounds surprised that Shaw would have a sense of it, before it dawns on her and she giggles, "oh, right, you did say the club sometimes has old timey dress parties, right?" She sips some more of the brandy, and raises her glass, "guess now I can officially join those, ha! I'll be a pro in no time!"

Listening to Shaw describe how Emma views the world, she gasps, "gosh, I'd like to think I'm not anybody's rival..." she starts, before frowning, "she was really nice to me, she didn't at all seem like she thought of me as prey..."

While her eyes light up with mischevious delight, Aurora does seem to appreciate the sentiment, "that's actually very refreshing of you, today you always gotta keep in mind, does a guy has a webcam hidden in a room, will this pop up somewhere online...very gentlemanly of you Mr. Shaw, your reputation fits your manner." She does look a bit at a loss when asked about the benefits, "she didn't really go into details, she just said she'll get me in more movies, more serious stuff...like people like me for sexy stuff, risque stuff, and I don't mind it. It's fun playing a sexy version of a famous hero, but...I do think I want to be taken seriously at some point."

It's that last bit he says about the table, that gets Aurora to look at Shaw sincerely, with a deep contemplative gaze, "that might be the best compliment I ever got from anyone." She nods to herself as she empties her glass of brandy, "I guess I'll take your advice and not rush into anything, you're right, I can do things on my own...I started as a barista for fucks sake..."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
Sebastian raises his glass back in salute to her, clinking it briefly. "We do have parties, yes. We have one coming up, actually. I'd encourage you to come join, if you would like." A warm smile. "Perhaps we can share a dance."

"That is how she operates, my dear. She will make you feel as if she is your friend, but in reality, she does not truly take friends. As I said." Sebastian shrugs. "One day we were friends, truly, partners in a way. But..." He waves his hand vaguely. "She decided to pretend she was different than what she is, but I, myself, have remained true to what I am. I do not attempt to deceive. You know what you get from me."

It is clear that Sebastian is well aware of her predilection for sexy shoots. And her ability for it. He may be speaking earnestly, but he allows his eyes to fill in some of the blanks easily enough. "You can certainly find yourself with more serious roles. I think your career is heading in the right direction, and certainly the Count of Monte Cristo is serious literature. I would say you are making your way along splendidly." He takes another long sip of his brandy, and then considers her for a moment. "But, like I said. We have considerable membership. If you want introductions, I can arrange for some. You can make your own arrangements with them, but I can get you the meeting."

He laughs softly as he listens to her, and he drains the rest of the brandy. "My dear, you do not need to do it on your own. You have friends, and you have allies." He sets the glass on the table, and turns more fully to face her.

"And I would simply do it as a show of friendship. Not taking any cut of your profits."
