Joseph Gardner has posed:
There are few acticvies more liberating than flying, especially when you don't need a plane! Hawkman wheels over Central Park enjoying the wind in his wings and feeling sorry for the folks without wings. Flying by manipulating gravitons is just lame. Sorry. H waves to a fellow hawk seeking a rabbit or mouse and what is this?

The Hawkman wheels around a small clearing with a... shrine. He links to the absorbascon... Japanese Pantheon. Goddess Inari: goddess of prosperity. Sad to be served by fox spirits.

Cool. He wheels down and spots a ne'er do well. He decides it is a ne'er do well as he's wearing a mask and clutching a crowbar.

Not cool. Hawkman swoops, grabbed the wannabe mugger and promptly drops him in the lake. "Get a GED. You're lucky it was me and not the Lieutenant! She'd'a caved in your head... nah you can't have the crowbar. I'm taking it." He climbs again and drops down silently in the little clearing, wings spread. As an afterthought he removes his helm to show respect. This seems to him to be a holy place. He was polytheist in enough lives not to play favorite. Hawkman bows his head and takes a knee.

Saeko has posed:
A crowbar? How classically bandit-like. Still, perhaps it was reassuring to see that things were not always so different. Of course, she'd have come to the aid of whatever victim occurred...but perhaps it didn't really matter now. She was just going to enjoy the calm.

Atop the shrine, a small wooden box sat, several strawberries resting within...yet the box was open and several had already been clearly removed. Strange perhaps to the Hawkman's eyes.

Or at least, until a figure wrapped in a deep red yukata leaned out from...seemingly impossible space behind the shrine, tilting her head curiously.

"Well...this is unexpected."

Joseph Gardner has posed:
Hawkman blink blinks. He is about to replace his helmet but... if this is a goddess, that would be an affront and... this woman drips uncanny. You don't expect the supernatural to out you and, Joseph Gardner is far from a distinctive human. Not like she's going to pull a phone out and video him and run extensive face searching apps. So he relaxes and says, "Indeed. I hope I'm not intruding on you... kami-san."

"Kami-san... apparently in some life I was Japanese. Interesting."

Saeko has posed:
"Sama," she corrects lightly before she steps around. Sure enough, the motion from the seemingly impossible shadow came with the reveal of her furred tails and those ears as she tilts her head to the side. "This is a formal meeting in a place of worship after all." A beat, she tilts her head to the other side before giving a soft laugh. "You are you...and yet not, again."

Joseph Gardner has posed:
Hawkman ponders a moment and answers, "Gomen nasai, kami-SAMA. Watashi wa Hawkman." The Japanese words come slowly to him though. Maybe it was a short life? "I was from Nippon in a past life. It is coming to me slowly though. I'll stick with English for now. It is an honor." He peers at her looking for some clue to her status. Definitely having a problem with his Japanese life.

Saeko has posed:
"You may use English, if you prefer," she offers gently, bringing herself around the space where her tails could flare out fully. "I am a Tenko of Inari...and you, you are a strange being. Perhaps I have seen you before, or held stories of your kind and your nature."

Joseph Gardner has posed:
Hawkman nods as his eyes get used to the gating effect around the female. He takes in the fur, fox ears and multiple tails. Many tails. "Kitsune-sama... I remember now and I am shamed. I was a hunter... of fox spirits and challenged Inari. An... asshole. My Lord drowned in a river going after a single tailed Kitsune. I swore vengeance but never found another Kitsune. I'm glad of that. I apologize. I'll make a donation in apology. You... seem to like strawberries."

"I thought all my past lives were heroic. Apparently not so. Peple never seem to recall past lives when they were ditch diggers or shoveled crap."

Saeko has posed:
"You fled," Saeko comments lightly, lifting her hand to her lips, "As did all who rode with you. To see a 'Yokai', the 'Tamamo-no-Mae' who brought misfortune and death. That you thought to promise vengence was..." she trails off with a shrug, taking a bite of the berry before giving a soft subtle laugh. "There is a worshipper that owns a small fruit store that has found fortune over the last year and so...and so they make an offering each month."

Joseph Gardner has posed:
Hawkman nods. "I will find them and see what they advise. Or maybe you have a phone number? It would speed up the offering. Yes, he fled instead of joining his lord and became a ronin. He died shot full of arrows from bandits after that. That is quite embarrassing. On the whole my lives were better. Maybe Inari guided me here to balance my karma or teach me some humility. Works." He twirls his mace idly.
