The First Swim Of The Year
Date of Scene: 16 April 2023
Location: Swimming Pool / Patio Deck
Synopsis: Scott, Lorna and Kitty take advantage of a sunny if cool day for a first trip into the heated pool at the mansion.
Cast of Characters: Kitty Pryde, Scott Summers, Lorna Dane

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Though the pool is kept heated year round, it doesn't generally see much use until the snow has melted and the temperature is nicely above freezing. Kitty Pryde is about to make her first use of the pool this year! She does have to wear shoes out, and shorts and a sweatshirt. Because it's not exactly sweltering out, even if it is a sunny day.

Kitty and Lockheed arrive at the pool, Kitty slipping off her shoes and then removing the other clothing to reveal a blue bikini beneath. She grins at Lockheed. "Just wait, it'll be summer soon, boy," she tells the little dragon who prefers lava baths to snow and cold.

Kitty runs over and jumps into the air, diving into the pool in a graceful swan dive. The dragon flaps his wings, climbing into the air and then peeling off into a dive to follow her.

Sploosh!

Scott Summers has posed:
Scott Summers is wearing trunks and flip-flops, peeling off a plain white tee as he makes his way down from the school. He has the swim-goggles variation of his visor so that he can get in the water and he carries a cooler along with him.

"Sandiwches, sodas and beers inside," he says. "If you get the last of 'em, go up to the house and get some more. Fridge is fully stocked. Feel free to cut the crusts off, in case Rogue shows up. Her gums are sensitive," he says.

Satisfied with the preparation, the lean, tall man turns and dives into the pool.

Lorna Dane has posed:
There's a woman in a red swim suit with her dark green hair tied up into a lazy pony tail. She has a pair of white too large sunglasses covering her green eyes and where they're pointing. So she looks up from her spot on the chair and to the two people diving into the pool. Lorna waits for both to surface before she lifts an eyebrow and giggles, "I'm gonna miss this." The monarch says idly as she smirks towards the two mutants. But she pauses at Scott's last comment. "She does?!"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde's head surfaces above water and she flashes a grin over to Lorna. Lockheed comes up too, the little purple dragon flopping over onto his back and floating. His little rounded belly jutting up towards the warmth of the sunlight.

She turns, seeing Scott Summers coming down towards the pool. "See, now this is why he's leader. I just think about the water. He thinks about food and drinks, and has a plan worked out for resupply," Kitty says towards Lorna with another grin after Scott announces the cooler's contents.

He peels off his shirt and Kitty puts two fingers into her lips to whistle at him. She waits until Scott comes back up to say in a teasing voice, "Hubba hubba. We finally have some beefcake at the pool, Lorna!" Her eyes twinkle, as teasing Scott is a favored pastime around the school.

Scott Summers has posed:
Scott Summers comes back up to the surface, slicking back his hair with his hands. He's been letting it grow a little bit, shaking it out, but isn't convinced to actually try long hair. for one, he's likely to blast off a few stray hairs every now and then if they fall in the path of the visor on a mission. Could end up with some weird hairstyles.

He grins a bit at the attention, settling into a backward float and sweeping his arms long to pull him in slow circles, "Now, now, girls, we shouldn't objectify one another and set a good example for the ki...oh, wait, there aren't any of them here. Never mind."

Lorna Dane has posed:
"Beefcake at the pool!" Lorna confirms with a hand against her mouth with a giggle afterwards and a slow look over her glasses at the two, three floaters in the pool. "Y'all are like, a cute, and sexy stew. I don't want to throw off the flavors." Lorna says, leaning back into her lounge chair. "No kids, no filters. That's the rule, or it was and we don't mess with tradition." Lorna smirks before adding a small note, "You'd look good with shaggy hair, Scott."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde lets out a soft, warm laugh as Scott chides them but then turns it into a joke. He's been a part of her life since she came to the school at fourteen. And Lorna a good friend during her school years. Easy for Kitty to connect with the other Jewish girl at the school. So it not only feels like home, having them both there in the pool area with her. It actually is home.

And of course, who can forget Lockheed?

Kitty lets herself drift over onto her back, floating beside the little dragon. Though she keeps occasionally brushing some of the water over her skin that's in the air as it is a little brisk out still. Though the sun helps. "Oooh, yes," Kitty says as Lorna offers her opinion on Scott's hair. "I'm thinking, grow it out. We can give you that rockstar hair. Not dirty grunge hair but more like Rod Stewart, all nice and spikey," she suggests, eyes twinkling as she flashes a grin to Lorna before turning her grin on Scott Summers.

Scott Summers has posed:
Scott Summers looks momentarily alarmed, "Rod Stewart? I know I'm one of the 'old guys' around here, but I'm not -that- old," he laughs. "It's because I did 'If You Want My Body' at karaoke that once, isn't it? I'm never doing tequila shots ever again," he sighs.

"Also, Lorna, please, join us, this is definitelyi not a stew. If you find potatoes in here, leave immediately."

Lorna Dane has posed:
"Rod Stewart? Nah, I was thinking Summers here could pull off some longer Hockey player hair. Hockey players are hot." Lorna says with a chuckle and a nod before looking towards Kitty. "I think I better stay out of the pool. I didn't bring a towel. But I can sit here, lounge in the cold air in a borrowed bikini." Lorna teases with a smile before looking at Scott. "I'll stay out and keep an eye out for potatoes."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
"Oh yes! You can't go better than that spoof of hair that looks like you were playing with a Tesla coil," Kitty explains of the Rod Stewart hair. She uses her arms to slowly drift her way across the pool. When she gets near Lockheed, he flips over from his back so he can climb up onto Kitty, resting on her flat belly and curling up. "Lockheed, if I end up with a dragon-shaped tan line..." Kitty starts, before trailing off.

"Ok actually I'm not sure I could complain. I mean how cool would that be?" she says with a laugh, reaching a hand down to ruffle the little dragon's head.

"Yes, come on in Lorna, the water's wonderful. Nice and toasty," she replies to the Genoshan royal. Kitty looks back towards Scott. "All the tequila. In fact, maybe that'll be my birthday party theme this year. Trip down to Baja?" For her 21st they went white water rafting on the Rogue River in Oregon. Yes, the name played a role in its selection.

Scott Summers has posed:
Scott Summers shakes his head, "I stay out of those girltrips you guys do. I'm always the one who has to make sure everybody has their tickets and nobody loses their luggage and, oh, Scott, I forgot my phone at the hotel, will you go get it for me, oh hey, Cyclops, would you mind oiling...okay, well, they're not all onerous tasks," he says.

"But yes, we'll have to do one of the usual getaways probably, give everyone a chance to blow off some steam once the school year's over. And hopefully once the Brood issue is attended to. Chest-bursting aliens can be a pain. Especially with chests like yours," he says, swimming over to the cooler and pulling out a beer.

Lorna Dane has posed:
"Whose chest?" Lorna asks rather bluntly before she rolls off the chair to get onto her bare feet. Slowly some metal uncoils from within her hair and pools down at her feet. She takes a step and the metal becomes a disk beneath her feet. An old trick she picked up from videos of her dad and she hovers herself over the pool. She looks back and tosses her glasses with an unnatural arch back to her chair. After she is above the pool, the monarch dives into the waters. After popping back up, Lorna takes a breath. "Happy you two?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
After watching Lorna float over the pool and dive in, Kitty flashes her a warm grin as the green-haired mutant surfaces. "Much happier. I mean otherwise we'd be having to bow and curtsey and Your Majesty this and Your Majesty that," Kitty teases, flashing her smile across at her old friend. "Now we're part of the royal pool party, is the way I figure it," Kitty says as she floats with Lockheed on her stomach.

Kitty lifts her head up a bit to peer over at Scott. "Wait. There was oiling? Why wasn't I involved in the oiling?" she asks. "Is that what you guys did when you were all eighteen and I got stuck staying home when you'd all go out? What, oil wrestling? I mean that would be very Hank wouldn't it?" she asks, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

Scott Summers has posed:
Scott Summers nods, "Yes, Kitty, that's exactly what we did. We deliberately hid it from you so you would never know the joy of being oiled by my strong hands," he says with a straight face.

"And yeah, Kitty's right. Generally speaking, I'm resentful of monarchy, being a proper American with a natural contempt for unnatural hierarchies. I'm still never going to bow or scrape to your father, but if somebody has to wear a crown, I suppose I'm glad it's you."

Lorna Dane has posed:
"Scott." Lorna says just his name, shifting her stately nature to about half her maximum, just to strike that hint of fear that she might be in the right profession if she's was one to really lean into it. After a long pause she smirks and adds, "You'd look great in the queensguard armor. Kitty too." The monarch then starts to rise out of the water, a mischievous smile is given to Kitty. "I'll let you both think bout that image." She says before she starts towards the kitchen.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
"I'd look great in any armor. I really need to borrow Forge's lab to make some cosplay stuff for the next Con," Kitty replies with a grin. Lockheed lifts his head, giving a tiny ruffle of his wings as he sees Lorna is departing. It's sort of his silent goodbye, before he rests his head back on Kitty's belly. Kitty lifts a hand, waving goodbye to Lorna as she heads back to the mansion.

She lets out a sigh then towards Scott. "I knew it. See, I told Piotr back then how great he'd look all oiled up. And I mean, I can't do much more than show up at his door with a bottle of baby oil, can I? But, 'Nyet Katya, it is not right. You are a freshman at most' and he damn well knew my classes were at least Junior level," Kitty complains in a small diatribe.

"So, now I find out who was oiling up his muscles," she says, flashing a playful grin at Scott. "And I thought you were my friend, Summers."

Scott Summers has posed:
Scott pushes up to the edge of the pool, "If you want me to oil you up, I'm more than happy. Wouldn't want you getting burned after all. Reduce your efficacy on missions," he says with a deadpan tone.

"And you shoudl definitely work your way up, in those sorts of situations. Piotr's muscles are, like, graduate school level oiling up. You need to start small. Maybe get Warren's skinny rich boy muscles first," he says.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde was grinning as Scott fired back at her about Piotr. Though then he gets to Warren.

Point, Summers.

Kitty's cheeks flush a bit, the blush growing steady across her face. "Ah, right. Skinny. Muscles," she says, making the two of them very separate words and as if she doesn't really equate the two of them together on the subject of the winged mutant that she dated and lived with for a year.

Kitty lifts her feet into the water, arching back and sliding beneath the pool surface. Leaving poor Lockheed spluttering for a second as his floating girl is suddenly gone beneath the waves.
