Wait, how many arms
Date of Scene: 17 April 2023
Location: Bronx
Synopsis: Red Sonja and Vorp encounter Kaine fleeing an angry multi-armed spider-clone a.k.a Doppelganger.
Cast of Characters: Kaine Parker, Mary Jane Watson, Terry O'Neil

Kaine Parker has posed:
Kaine Parker returns from a successful mer job, feeling a mixture of satisfaction and weariness. As he swings through the dimly lit streets of the Morris Park neighborhood, the streetlights cast a dull glow on the worn-down buildings and parked cars lining the quiet road. The fading echoes of laughter and music from nearby homes serve as a reminder of the joys of life the clone lacks.

Unbeknownst to him, danger lurks just around the corner. A creature in a perversion of a spider-man costume with multiple arms stalks Kaine from the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Its twisted form, a sickening combination of man and beast, is a testament to the twisted experiment that brought it to life. Driven by an insatiable desire to best its genetic sibling, the clone codenamed Doppelganger hungers for a confrontation.

As Kaine turns into a narrow alley, he senses something is amiss. He feels the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end, his spider-sense warning him of imminent danger. Before he can react, Doppelganger leaps from the shadows, launching itself at Kaine with a guttural snarl. Its multiple limbs flail wildly, each one tipped with razor-sharp claws, aiming to rip Kaine apart.

With lightning-fast reflexes, Kaine narrowly dodges the initial assault, his body twisting in mid-air to avoid the deadly claws. He lands in a crouched position, his eyes narrowing as he assesses the monstrous clone before him. As Doppelganger rears back for another attack, Kaine knows he has to act quickly or risk being torn to shreds.

Kaine springs into action, his powerful legs propelling him forward as he engages the feral creature. His fists fly, attempting to land a decisive blow on the snarling beast. But Doppelganger is deceptively agile, countering with an onslaught of its own. The two combatants exchange a rapid series of blows, a deadly dance of skill and ferocity.

Realizing he's evenly matched, Kaine opts for a different strategy. He breaks away from the savage confrontation, firing a web line and swinging up to the rooftops. He leads the monstrosity on a chase hoping to find some kind of advantage to tip the scales.

With a howl of rage, Doppelganger follows Kaine, its twisted form racing along the rooftops with unnatural speed. The chase is on, as the Scarlet Spider leads the nightmarish clone through the urban jungle of the Bronx, each move and countermove bringing Doppleganger closer on Kaine's heels..

"Shit... Shit... Shit!" Kaine turns directions and sails over a crowd of nearby citizens. There are gasps of awe and then shrieks, and people get a better view of Doppleganger. People start to panic and flood the entrances of nearby buildings.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson has been out on her own duties. She's bruised and battered and is in a standard SHIELD jumpsuit that's rather shredded. She has bruises that are healing. She's spent the night in one rough fight already earlier that day (or night) with Taskmaster. So whens he hears the sound of melee, the Sonja part of her is sore but only all too happy to charge in again! She goes to unsheathe her broadsword and moves to charge in, running along and through the streets until she's over at the place of the fight.. Just in time to see Kaine jumping along and through the air, about to yell at him for what the hell is his job doing that's putting people at risk..

Then Mary Jane sees the /thing/ that's after him. And she startles. And jumps just a bit. In her mind, even as Sonja clamps down on her startlement. "Come, freakface!" Sonja's all too happy to move to charge in. It gets that things attention away from the crowd, and gives her a chance for a good fight. While inwardly Mary Jane is going through the 'CRAP CRAP CRAP' routine if she's seeing Kaine /running/ from it, and she knows that Kaine can do anything Peter can..

Sonja ignores Mary Jane's trepidations as she goes to charge in, her mind analysing through how she would engage Peter if it came to a fight.

She's been working on it since the times she's had to talk with Gwen and Kaine. And about none of them..

Have a chance in hell.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
It's Sunday, which means it's Mom time. Terry O'Neil is walking down the street, mingling with the crowd of citizens as he wanders, Agatha's delicious penne all'arrabiata sitting well with the redhead. He liked coming over and spending time with his mother, a respite from the superhero world. With Kian and Gar otherwise occupied at the Tower, it was a nice and calm dinner.

Calm only lasts so long, these days. The screams from the crowd draw his attention upwards, and he frowns at Kaine's passing- remembering that outfit, but also remembering he never found out who it actually was.

And then the "Oh my god what the hell is THAT-" thing.

Kaida's bracelet is held up to his eyes, and he looks into the mirror he's attached to it. "We're All Mad Here!" is intoned, and the magic change happens.

A second later, Vorpal takes Terry's place, and the Cheshire Cat pauses as a fellow redhead wielding a broadsword also joins the melee.

"... the direct approach, I approve," he says, jumping over onto the roof of a car, "Shall I help the citizens avoid the beast while you tussle with it?" he calls out, beginning to summon a Rabbit Hole to help funnel any civilian who might be too slow to avoid the path of the incoming monster.

Kaine Parker has posed:
Doppelganger's twisted form, illuminated by the sporadic streetlights, casts a terrifying shadow on the pavement below as it continues its relentless pursuit of Kaine. The beast's grotesque visage, featuring a Spider-Man mask-like head with large, white emotionless eyes and a mouth full of razor-sharp teeth, incites panic and fear among the innocent bystanders who happen to be in its path. As Kaine swings over the crowd, Doppelganger's feral eyes lock onto him, its predatory instincts driving it forward.

With a guttural snarl, Doppelganger leaps into the air, its multiple limbs reaching out to grab hold of any nearby structure. Windows shatter, and debris rains down on the fleeing citizens below as the creature propels itself forward. The once-peaceful evening is now filled with chaos and terror, as the horrifying Spider-Man clone cuts a path of destruction through the Bronx.

Doppelganger's singular focus on Kaine is evident, as it ignores the screams and cries of the panicked crowd below. Its soulless white eyes are fixed on its quarry, and it won't rest until it has proven its dominance over its genetic sibling. With each powerful leap, the monstrous creature gains ground, the chase becoming an ever more dangerous game of cat and mouse.

The call of "Freakface" is noticed more by Kaine then the Doppelganger. Kaine double-takes when he notices MJ is wielding a broadsword. That moment of distraction might have been lethal if not for spider-sense, Kaine narrowly avoid the worst of a slash, a thin split and trail of blood forming on the back of his suit.

Doppelganger having over extended itself gets a full-force kicks a Kaine complete the flip he uses to dodge the attack and the clone is sent crashing into the glass window of a convenience store.

Kaine lands next to MJ and Vorpal in the classic spider-person crouch and then stands. "Before you ask, I don't have a clue... but I bet I know who I can blame for it."

A split second later, Doppleganger is leaping out of the same window his maw full of razor sharp teeth extended wide as it snarls with bloodlust.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Red Sonja goes to charge in over at the thing. Sonja goes to give Kaine some cover to disengage and catch his breath. She doesn't know who Vorpal is, but he's getting the civilians to safety, which is the priority. Even as the Mary Jane part of her headspace can only stare and think oO(What the hell have you gotten into, Peter? That can't be you.. Can it? OR made from you?) The panicking part of her mind is shunted away as Kaine's slammed away from Doppelganger as she goes to charge in.

Red Sonja taunts, "We'll figure out what to call it when we're done wiht it!" She moves to slash on over towards it with her blade. Going to try and skewer it over with as much power as she can. Red Sonja rarely gets to fight at her full power, her full speed.. This is something she relishes. She doesn't know what that thing is..

"Come, let's see how you function with all your limbs shredded off!" She shrieks in glee while slashing. But.. If this thing is as fast as Peter, and took a full power hit from Kaien who doesn't hold back nearly as much as Peter does..

Then this will get messy. Fast

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Frankly, Scarlet, I don't give a damn." Vorpal says, and then smirks at Kaine. "Sorry. I've always wanted to say that..." he narrows his eyes, glancing at Kaine's back and the trail of blood, and switches over to intense mode. "It got you..."

When Doppelganger emerges from the window, the Cheshire cat crouches low, head looking every which way to spot any stray civilian who may still not have been able to flee- to scoop them up with the Rabbit Hole and plop them out four blocks away, more or less. "I'll join in as soon as I've gotten the last person out of here- she is at least buying us some time..." he pauses as he brings the Rabbit Hole down on a cowering woman and her two children, to scoop them to safety. It might be a scary experience for them, but at least it's better than being eaten by mutant Spider Dude.

"Is she a friend of yours, incidentally? I like her style."

Kaine Parker has posed:
Kaine seems a little shocked with MJ's Red Sonja personality goes charging with a battle-cry.

"O..kay." He mutters and then the melee ensues. Doppelganger possessing the same spider-sense as the rest of the spider family avoids having one of it's arms sheered off it's body by the slash of the broad sword. Simultaneously, he prepares its counter attack, but is interrupted by a barrage of web balls from Kaine.

Retreating momentarily, the creature lands on the brick of the building and snarls.

Kaine replies to Terry. "She's one of two that are about the closest I have."

The revelation triggers something in him. His fists clench.

Doppelganger then retorts against the web ball assault with a few lines of its own webbing tugging them taut. Kaine narrowly avoiding the attack an innocent bystander in the form of a taco food cart is sliced in half.

"Watch out for those webs!" Kaine calls out as he leaps at Doppelganger, the two quickly become a rapid display of flailing limbs as super-human reflexes and spider-sense competing with each other. In the melee, Kaine seems to have the tactical sense to lure Doppelganger into Sonja's range.

Meanwhile, the woman and children scream and cry from Vorpal's surprise rescue.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Dammit, the thing is fast. Just as fast as Peter is. Red Sonja knows what the webs do, and with the speed and strength this thing has it will kill her if she's slowed for a second. She doesn't bother trying to coordinate with the other two. She give an appreciative nod to Kaine. The first that she's given to him in their meetings that wasn't one of total sympathy. Six arms, claws.. This will be interesting.

Faster than she is, the arms give it extra grappling room, it moves fast enough to have anticipated her strike. Okay, she's not going to outmaneuver it. The way to hit it is to box it in and flank it.
Kaine gives her the room to do just that as she fights with him. He keeps the creature's attention, and Red Sonja goes in! THe extra limbs don't improve it's reach, and the huge sword she has gives her an advantage. The thing is hemmed in.. And it can only move so fast with two opponents. And hopefully ti's not expecting how -strong- her sword is.

WIth her strength, hopefully what would have been a glancing hit otherwise really will lop off something..

Terry O'Neil has posed:
A glowing Vorpal-sized wall goes up to protect Vorpal from the incoming lines, the glowing magical construct blocking the way before vanishing.

"Hold on!" the Cheshire calls out as he runs, to provide a moving target rather than a stationary one in case Doppelganger tries to lash at him- although it seems to be pretty preoccupied between Sonja and Kaine. "It'll take you to safety, don't panic, you'll be /fine/!"

The ring of the Rabbit Hole descends upon the family, and in a moment they are somewhere else, safe.

Well, as safe as you ever are, around here.

He turns back to look at the fight. Although his reflexes are faster than an average human, he can't possibly hope to compete with a Spider. And in the department of strength? He's seen Spider-Man work out at his makeshift 'gym', he knows he is nowhere near the same league.

No. If he is going to be of any help at all, it's going to be by leaning on the 'Cheshire' side over the 'Superhero' side.

He takes a deep breath, and then works up an illusion- a sphere of darkness to encase Doppelganger's head. It may not work to impede its Danger Sense, but maybe it will help make its attacks miss their mark or be less accurate.

Kaine Parker has posed:
Good fortune has afforded Kaine some allies that help with his limb deficit against Doppelganger, and there's a moment when he wishes he had been given the same gift, as freaking as it was in appearance.

The bestial clone's attentions primarily set on Kaine, the teamwork and Sonja's warrior prowess manage to strike a blow. In an odd moment of serendipity, the tip of the broadsword rends a similar bloody gash along the back of the clone matching Kaine's.

The pain registers with Doppelganger more then Kaine. Kaine suffering from cellular degeneration has a very close relationship with pain. It was easier for him to ignore it, but for the multi-limbed clone, this was its first brush with its mortality. It howls and scampers up the side of the building.

Cresting the rooftop of the building, he it lands and then pounds, collapsing a portion of the building and sending down a rain of brick and debris.

Intending to renew it's attack, Doppelganger is then disoriented by the globe of darkness then suddenly encases its head. It panics and flails at the magical darkness, animalistic fear taking hold. The building takes further damage as multiple limbs try to battle the darkness.

Meanwhile, Kaine feels obligated to scoop up Red Sonja and whisk her out of the rain of bricks. It's likely this assistance wasn't required, but there's something in the Parker DNA about saving red-heads. Landing nearby, he'll let Sonja regain her footing. "Nice hit."

He then peers toward Terry and looks upwards, getting a momentary peek at Doppelganger's plight. "That... is effective." Kaine lacked the the same power of quip as Peter.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would look up at the thing, "Blasted freak." Even as the bricks would go down and she would be yanked out of the way by Kaine, looking up and over at the Doppelganger. "We have to contain that thing or it will evade us and we can't blasted hit it." SHe would muse over for a few moments. Her eyes thoughtful.

"HOw far across can you make your portals?" That's given quickly over to Vorpal as she's released by Kaine. "And how much webbing do you have on you?" She evaluates quickly over at the thing high up on the building, even as it rampages and they perhpas have a few seconds to come up wtih a plan.

"It won't be strong enough to tear through it quickly. So if we can partially restrain it, we can neutralize it." Even Peter can't break through his own webbing without a lot of effort. Then back to Vorpal. "Can you throw enough things around it to confound it, or better to reposition it?" The tactical side of her is sorting through their options. They can -maybe- fight it to a standstill with luck, but casualties and a likelihood that the thing will escape and flee..

Then up on the rooftop Mary Jane looks up over at the large watertower and just smiles sadistically.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Anywhere I can think of on Earth. for, say, the moon, I need a moment to concentrate. I can take things even further, but... it tends to drain me..." he explains to Sonja. "We /could/ lure it through the Rabbit Hole to somewhere where there are no civilians... desert in the midwest, maybe? It seems to want to chase you, Scarlet..." he glances at Kaine, "If you went through it... it'd chase you. And we'd be right behind it."

MJ's second set of suggestions causes him to snap his fingers, "I can spin as many illusions as you want. I can also drop anvils and other things on it as well. I'll gladly run distraction for you heavy hitters. So it sounds like a plan?"

Kaine Parker has posed:
Kaine gives Sonja a once over not so much looking at her but as a quick check that this is the same woman he'd been interacting with lately. He nods slowly, "Sounds like you have the plan. I leave you two to coordinate while I keep it busy."

He follows Sonja's gaze when she makes her sadistic grin. "Good plan, and my webbing is natural, so... a lot but with some consequences."

Leaping into the air, he tosses a webline and then tugs himself up above the rooftop. He then begins casting wide webs taking advantage of clone's magical blindness.

Sheer quantity and some guess-work based on how he would dodge allows Kaine to snag one of the clone's legs. Rebounding off the roof-top immediately as he lands, he pulls Doppelganger into the air and then hurls him into the proximity of the water tower.

The creature scampers and hisses, claws rending the concrete roof. He fires off razor webs in the general direction of Kaine, but still lacking its sight, Kaine is able to easily avoid and even gums them up with his own webbing.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Now, the point is to get the thing slowed down.. And Sonja's scrambling her way up the building. Her body language is different than with Mary Jane. Gone is the more relaxed, casual air she's had in their previous meetings. Now there's just a feral glee of combat. The water tower is triggered to collapse on it right over as it's webbed up.. And hopefully several tons of metal smashing down atop it along with whatever disorientation there is from Vorpal's portals, the webbing that's lathered up all over it..

Hopefully that will keep the thing down. REd Sonja is leaping, scrambling up along towards the rooftop of the building, sword over her back as seh goes to get up there as fast as she can. "We have to incapacitate the thing." Put it in a webbing cocoon, teleport it somewhere to the depths of Hudson Bay.. They can slow it down, but not beat it. And she has no qualms about killing something that's clearly an abomination and a monster..

But, dead freaks tell no tales, as one might put it.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
The Cheshire nods, "Alright, moving to disorient and impede!" the Cheshire runs to get closer to the source of the action.

"Scarlet!"

He points to the glowing Rabbit Hole that has appeared, the midwestern desert illuminated by a full moon on the other side. The trap is set, now all Kaine needs to do is to be the bait. Easy, right?

The Cheshire lifts the veil of darkness as soon as Kaine starts moving towards the hole, so that the monster can see him and give chase. Once it has gone through the portal, they can come through, close it, and leave it in a place with no buildings to climb, and three very troublesome people wanting to pin it down.

And, also, another idea that Vorpal wants to try, based on something Sonja said...

Kaine Parker has posed:
The webbing on Doppelganger's leg manages to pin it a degree to the rooftop. Finding his chance, Kaine launches a series of sticky web globs at the cone. Even confined, the clone manages to avoid some, but a few do manage to pin its extra limbs to its torso.

Finally, Kaine fires two web lines onto the water tower's supporting struts and then tugs with enough force to wrench and tear metal. Blood drips down the back of his suit, but the Scarlet Spider seems just as focused on defeating Doppelganger as the creature is on destroying him.

When Cheshire points out the portal, a last final tug adjust the trajectory of the crashing water tower. A deluge of water topples and frees the clone from the roof top, and the path of least resistance causes he water to drain toward the portal.

Webbed and injured, the clone struggles to resist the flood, but does manage clamp one claw into concrete preventing it from fully traversing through. Doppelganger, now soaked and battered, clutches desperately at the rooftop edge near the portal its white emotionless eyes filled with the realization of impending defeat. The magical darkness begins to dissipate from around its head, but the creature's struggles are far from over.

Kaine feels depleted from the massive amount of webbing and to some degree the blood-loss takes a knee, his head spinning leaving Red Sonja the one available to deliver the finishing blow.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
The thing is still moving? Impressive. I tshould be crippled. Sonja goes to charge in over it while calling to Vorpal, "Get his injury tended to." Yes, webbing on heavy bleeding can do in a pinch, but it's a stopgap at best and it's not the best time for kaine to stop up his own wounds.

The thing will be free in seconds, and so she has to charge on in. And while she moves to whip her blade over in a long arc through the air in a scythe, she has to figure out what she will do. Kill it? Spare it?

The thing is a monster, a beast, with no real idea of what it is. Or perhaps it's simply a discarded spawn thrown away by the one that made it. Or that broke free o fit's own. It's a beast, a monster. It has no higher purpose than mayhem. And pehrpas survival.

But something within Sonja stirs. Not sympathy. Not sorrow. But mercy. Even as she geos to hack towards it with intent of smashing her blade through if she could the thing's shoulder to not quite impale it, but to cripple it. Then moving to try and while it was in pain from the stabbing to swing the back of her blade at the thign's skull.

So, presuming she could she would crack it on the back of the head with sufficient force to shatter a steel column.. Which might at least knock the thing out. Of course, that required it having tos tay still for long enough, and for her to have the time to get in both of said strikes.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Terry runs over to Scarlet, leaving Sonja to do the epic slaying of the beast. "Easy, Spidy," Vorpal says, kneeling next to Kaine and putting a hand on his shoulder. He summons a quick Rabbit Hole to a certain room in the Titans' Tower, where he reaches for one of the kits, before closing the small hole up. He doesn't need to carry the medkits with him, when he is a walking portal gun. He knows how to use the kit to help with injuries- at least a patch-up job until an actual professional can provide treatment, and he starts at it right away to tend to the wounds and staunch the blood loss as best he can, sterile bandages at the ready. "Lean on me if you need to. We'll get you patched up better than the Goodyear blimp, yeah?"

Kaine Parker has posed:
Doppelganger is too overwhelmed from being wet, wounded, and barraged. Too many stimuli set off it's spider-sense, and thus, it's unable to avoid the blows. It shrieks as the blade strikes its shoulder, a shriek that is silenced at the blow strikes the back of its head. Knocked out or dazed, it doesn't matter. It loses its grip and falls through the portal, banished to whatever desert Vorpal intended.

Meanwhile, Kaine receives medical treatment from Terry. He seems to woozy to protests, a hand against his forehead. A few minutes after treatment, he finds some clarity and blinks away a haze.

He looks toward Vorpal and the medical kit and grunts, "Better then a real hospital."

The eyes of his mask then turn toward Red Sonja. "When did you become a chick that swung broadswords? I mean... I'm not complaining."

He groans and starts to rise but then realizes that would interrupt Terry's treatment. "Wish that asshole had given me extra arms... but the younger kids always get the better toys."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Red Sonja would snap, "We have to figure out hwat to do with this thing /quickly/. It needs containment, but not from those I work with." Because no, giving something made up wiht Peter's genetic data to SHIELD would mess up his life (and Kaine's). And the Raft would be an even worse place. It was not equipped to hold the monsters it already held in it.

They needed somewhere secure, that could hold things of this nature.. Then she would swing over to Vorpal, "Could your brethren keep this thing secure?" It's a polite request. The Titans seem the best place for it off the top of her head. The Titans could always give it up the ladder to the Justice League if they needed an alternative, and Vorpal could just teleport it right to the secure wing somewhere.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"You're better off with two arms, Spidey," Vorpal says, applying the bandages. He now has some of Kaine's blood on him, but he doesn't complain out loud about how hard it is to get blood out of fur. These are allies, after all. "You spend less in deodorant."

He glances up at the statuesque ginger, and nods. "Sure thing, red. I mean, I'm part of the Spidey-network-" he points to his eye, where presumably the high-tech contact Spidey gave him is- "And we've got one of the Spideys in our rotating roster, so technically speaking it's a family affair. I'll hail Caitlin to wrangle the danger room into a temporary containment and then we'll work on something more permanent..." he glances at Kaine, and then back at Sonja when he asks the question. "... Er... I don't believe we've actually /met/, but you do remind me of some of my Amazon friends. You'd like them. What should I be calling you?" he gives her a grin, before turning a critical eye on Kaine.

"Stay sitting for a little, you've lost a lot of blood... you really shouldn't go traipsing around until you've rested and replenished..." He tilts his head "... I /can/ Rabbit Hole you wherever you need me to. You two can go... I have to wait for the clear from the Tower to Rabbit Hole Handsy McArmguy over there anyways. And the police will probably want a statement... and..." he withers a bit, "paperwork."

Kaine Parker has posed:
Kaine gives Vorpal an incredulous look, "There's a spidey network? And one of them is part of the Titan's?"

He shakes his head as the idea seems to give him a migraine. "Look, do whatever you need to do with it. I'd recommend incineration. Whatever happens, please keep its DNA to itself. It's a long story, and I don't want to explain the request. It's a matter of... privacy."

Ultimately, he sits his ass on the wet rooftop and rests his arms on his knees, replaying recent events. "I need... I need..."

He looks upwards into the sky, city skyline reflecting off his eye shields. "I need a beer."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would note to Kaine, "You require significant medical attention." Also presuming that he wouldn't go to a hospital. "Beyond those supplies that you can scavenge from a closet at one." She also knew that routine. Giving a glance to Vorpal once more at his commentary. "I am aware of your.. Associate." Clones were a complicated thing. Poor Ben. He got the short end of the stick.

"You may call me Sonja." The near psychotic redhead would smile, in a shredded up SHIELD Jumpsuit that has somehow been shorn down to her belly and off of her shoulders, with the mostly busted up leggings. She would keep her blade up and out in case the Doppelganger got moving again and she was required to strike at it.

"I have nothing in common with your Amazonian sisters, though I respect them." They just came from different worlds. And times. Thoughts of those times having a wistful look on her face for just a moment. As the bloodlust would slowly drop from her system, she would faintly think to somewhere long, long ago after a similar brawl against something just as freakish.. But that, dear reader, is a story for another time of ages past.

And the association of a wretched Cimmerian dog.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Don't worry about the DNA stuff. We have people with secret identities on the team. We know how that goes." He frowns, "I agree with Sonja, dude, you need medical assistance. Hey... maybe consider coming with me to the tower? Caitlin can provide you with treatment... heck, when a doppelganger tore Beast Boy's arm off, she and Nadia figured a way to help him regenerate his arm back. Compared with that, helping you should be a walk in the park."

He turns to face Sonja, "Don't you think it's a rather good idea? And I just recalled we /do/ have a containment system... at one point, we had to contain a... rogue Kryptonian."

Yeah, let's just not mention that said rogue Kryptonian was their own team-mate, dear reader. It is a long story.

Kaine Parker has posed:
Kaine frowns beneath his mask and then manages to stand. He shakes his head defiantly.

"I'm fine. I've had much worse, and with less first aid." He rolls his neck. "Not that I don't appreciate the help, but I'm... really not that interested in putting my fate in the hands of a bunch of strangers."

"No, I'll find some alcohol. Think about my situation, and plan how I will burn a certain mad scientist's face off for putting me through this new kind of hell." His suit palm, saturated with water, begins to steam as heat builds in his palm.

He looks to them both then mutters, "Thanks" before he begins to walk. There's a momentary stumble, but the hitch in his gait is quickly corrected. He then looks to Sonja. "Not sure what your situation is, but I might need to meet up with our mutual friend for a different kind of treatment soon."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would nod over at Kaine, "Yes. If the situation continues this way.." It's going to be bad for them all. With Doppelganger dealt with, she goes to take out a rag to clean the blood off her sword, spending a few moments rubbing it down before sheathing it once more.

"IT's his decision as to whether to accept or not." Much as she agrees tha tit is a good idea, she's well aware that pride goeth before the fall, and so long as Kaine doesn't fall off the roof and land atop his pride, he'll be fine.

"My situation is complicated, in much the same way your's is. We will discuss it at a later date."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Vorpal doesn't press Kaine, of course. It IS his choice. However, it doesn't mean he has to approve of it. "... are all spiders this stubborn?" he asks Sonja on the quiet, as he sends in a request to the tower to prepare the containment unit, ASAP. "Because Spidey-Spidey is kind of stubborn. The other Scarlet spidey also. And Cranky Spidey is right along those lines..."

He glances at MJ, and back at Kaine. "Situation? What si-" He pauses. "Oh. Sorry, didn't mean to pry. Feline curiosity. Don't mind the question, I'll just wait until it's time to transport hellspider over there..."

Kaine Parker has posed:
Kaine nods to Sonja, "Understood."

Terry get a long glance and then a nod, "I owe you one. Don't have a great way to be contacted, but if you find a way, and you help. I'll do what I can."

With that, he raises a hand and thwips a webline before starting a circuit of very standard if slightly uncoordinated web slinging away from the scene of the commotion. Technically, a wanted criminal in at least one state, he didn't want to deal with the police or a tower of vigilante super heroes anytime soon.

Now hopefully he could get some sleep without another clone family member trying to take his head. Why was he so interesting anyway?
