Cast of Characters: Conner Kent, Mary Jane Watson

Conner Kent has posed:
With the spring semester courses ending in the Empire State college Conner finds himself with some time to catch up with friends and... maybe more than friends. Almost. Like Mary Jane, model, actress and secret agent. And host of a 10,000 year-old warrior woman. Totally normal girl, he supposes. He has not texted her in weeks, maybe months.

Surprisingly, she was in the city, and not far, and not annoyed with him for... reasons. And nothing to do after lunch. So, he invited her to meet for coffee and some catching up. Not that he drinks coffee, but they have ice cream here, too.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
It's been a busy couple of months for Mary Jane. Aliens, monsters, rampaging Brood-dinosaurs in the Savage Land, Hydra having secret advanced aircraft.. It's all about her job lately and everything that comes with it. But Sonja's been happy at having lots of things to stab as of late which no one will stop her over and that she can cut loose.

"Hey, Kon! Good to see you!" She would slide over into the seat facing him

Conner Kent has posed:
"Hey, MJ," replies Conner, smiling at the redhead, "looking good, as usual. How have you been? Up to much crazy lately?" Because, well, he figures balancing her career with her agent-ness with a ghost must be interesting.

"I have a few days off, until the summer courses begin," he explains. "Gotta make the most of it, hmm? As much as New York lets me, hope no giant wheels go rampage through Brooklyn today."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would smile, "Been hanging in there. Things are pretty busy. Not giant wheel level weird. Which I'm not sure if is a good thing or not to have that be the baseline for weird in life. Just alien infected dinosaurs in the Savage Land. That's the big thing lately."

That's without going into the ancient supercomputers there that maintain the Savage Land, which is above her classification level.

Conner Kent has posed:
"Oh, I read something about it, but nothing through the official unofficial bat-channels. I guess Robin didn't think it was our business," replies Conner, thoughtful; then he waves for a waiter, offering MJ the menu.

"Or maybe he is too busy. To be honest, I have been too," he adds. "I had to... catch up after a break. To go to Krypton. And time travel. Help prevent nuclear holocaust due to Krypton's version of Skynet, too. Mad scientists aunts might have been involved. Fun, long story. But talking about dinosaurs might be more fun."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would chuckle, "Fair enough. I mean, that's kinda paranoid." She would grin. "It has the Justice League, the Avengers.. Pretty much everyone involved. But it does seem kinda to fit for someone with Batman by reputation to try and make sure you don't know anything about it>" She would glance over at Conner and blink.

"Okay, your life is definitely stranger than mine. And.. I'm sorry?"

Conner Kent has posed:
"No. I mean, I keep in touch with unusual events through Robin and our team," he explains. "Rob is very up-to-date in most things. But he relies in Batman and associates."

MJ probably knows about the Outsiders, but it is supposed to be a secret team, so he gets to be vague. Conner is not good at being vague.

"Sorry? About Krypton?" He sobers up and leans back on his seat. "Well. I am happy to have seen it at least once. It is a big deal for Supes and even more for the others, who actually lived there before it was destroyed. For me it is... well, I don't know. I didn't even think about it."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would nod over, "Got it. You mean the Titans?" She would inquire. She didn't think that Conner was a member of them, but they had a pretty big roster and all the other people with the 'S' on their chests tended to be.. So that could be it. She would look sad over and nod.

"I understand. Good to see your home.. But the loss must be even worse knowing that you had to do nothing while the planet died and you could only be there for such a short time."

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner shakes his head, "that guy with the S there is my... kind of kid brother. And no, we are from Earth, anyway. It was not my home. It was gone about forty years before I was around. I had no idea what it was like until Superman showed me some records."

There is a pause to request foodstuffs to the waiter. Most people around them are having different versions of coffee. But Conner, as usual, goes for the sweet stuff. Ice cream in this case. So. Dinosaurs? Have you seen any?"

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would nod over, "I understand. So you're.. Forgive me, this is a bit complicated and I"m not wanting to put my foot in my mouth. And yes, dionsaurs. Infected by the Brood in the Savage Land, which is a jungle over in Antarctica that somehow exists by some kinda weird technology."

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner knows the Brood all too well, but has never been in the Savage Land, barely heard about it. "Jungles with dinos. Must be a cool place. Well, once the creepy alien cockroaches leave, that is," he comments with a faint grin.

The weird technology is new, but that explains the jungle in the Antartic part. "Is that all very secret or did you take pictures. Because I did take pictures. By my cellphone didn't survive the trip."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would sigh, "Well, I haven't exactly -seen- it, but I've read the reports. It's a bit above my pay grade. It's all.. Science'y!" She would wiggle ehr fingers. "It is very pretty though."

Conner Kent has posed:
"Ah, I misunderstood. You are missing it!" That is terrible, disappointing for a secret agent and all. Conner almost offers to take her there right there; but in a second through, it sounds like a pretty bad idea if it is a war zone right now.

"So, what are you doing right now, MJ?" He asks, curious. "You are a field agent, right? Not a technician or researcher or whatever else your people does."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would grin, "I'm a field agent, yeah . Most of the time. And we get rotated in and out of postings as needed. It can switch up pretty quickly. The joy of having really fast transport often means just pack a bag with some spare unifroms and ration bars and then you're thrown to wherever. I may be back there by the weekend. And I'm back at the Triskelion for a few days at least, until my boss changes thier mind."

Conner Kent has posed:
"Oh well... maybe you will go there soon," offers Conner. Because going to a jungle with dinosaurs invaded by parasitic alien insects would be interesting, right? One would hope so. "And bring pictures," he winks an eye at her. "And how is everything else? Will I see you in any good movie soon?"

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would laugh, "Nope. Or bad ones. My life is lcose enough to one anyways that it kind of kills the thrill of escapism. I mean, I can't go to the movies and live out a fantasy. That takes a lot of the fun out of being in one, even if in a small role."

Conner Kent has posed:
"Don't tell me you have given up being an actress?" Asks Conner, tilting his head in mild disapproval. "Think about your fans. All those millions that are waiting to be your fans without knowing, I mean."

He knows about the movie problem, though. Conner no longer likes watching action movies or sci-fi. Thrillers and comedies are still very good, though. "Also, I could write nice articles about you for the newspapers."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would chuckle, "Well, all five of them. One of which isn't Aunt Anna. I could tell her a commercial that I was girl in the background walking past model holding toothpaste number twelve and she wouldn't even bother to watch it." She would grin.

"I have the passion, I just don't have the time. Not when I can be thrown into a mission with just a few hours heads up. Makes holding dwon an audition hard."

Conner Kent has posed:
"Hmm, you were tying pretty hard a few months ago," points out Conner. But then he shakes his head. It is not his place to tell her what is important... but she had passion, as she just said.

"I will find and watch that commercial, though," he decides, grinning again. "I will look for a job next year, even if sometimes I will have to go attend emergencies. I mean, I hope it works. I can't exactly move with the parent, he has the house near the North Pole."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would sigh, "It's.. Complicated. Given the way things are getting I'm having to yield to Sonja a lot more often." That's not a bad thing. It's what sometimes she has to do. But more and more often.. Is just a thing she has to be careful though.

She would laugh. "Good luck with that. Make sure that you're able to.. I don' tknow, put on a fake mustache and a pair of glasses so no one notices the identity."

Conner Kent has posed:
"I am not sure I am famous enough," replies Conner. "I mean, I was a few years ago, but I have bulked up quite a bit, I doubt most people would recognize me as Superboy now."

Glasses and a mustache. Oh boy. "Maybe I should find a stylish mask instead. It works for Robin and Green Arrow." Although maybe Green Arrow has a fake mustache and goatee.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would chuckle, "Fair enough." S he would sigh, "And on acting.. I feel like I'm doing a disservice to a role, even for just a bit part, if I can't follow through with it. I'm taking away someone else's chance, someone else's income.. The time that the production is taking to audition people if I don't know I'll be there."

Conner Kent has posed:
"You are missing it already," offers Conner. "Maybe you should do it as a hobby. Get in a theatre group or something. Maybe SHIELD has one? What do super-spies do in their spare time?"

Even the Outsiders have their occasional movie night. In Robin's private theatre, true, but it is always fun. In Conner's opinion they should do more Karaoke nights, too.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson chuckles, "That's a point. Thanks. It's a good idea. I'm nots ure that anyone wants to see us bunch of crazed spies and soldiers put on a production though. It probably would end in.. More fire and explosions than the R&D and engineering labs have."
