An Invitation to the Club (but not yet THE Club)
Date of Scene: 20 June 2023
Location: Conference Rooms - Hellfire Club
Synopsis: Shaw invites Tynan to the club and gives her a trial mission.
Cast of Characters: Sebastian Shaw, Tynan Ireton

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
The message came as if via the mail, but with no postmark. An envelope, blank except for a seal in black wax of the symbol for a King in chess. The letter within gave very little in the way of information. A time, a date, and an address. Quick research shows the address as The Hellfire Club, an exclusive playground for the rich, famous, and powerful. No other information was forthcoming, but it was addressed to Tynan personally, and hand written.

Tynan Ireton has posed:
Ty read the letter. She knows the markings. And the woman of course did her research. Doesn't mean she's going unprepared for a fight though. Ty knows that anyone who does facial rec security would, and international connections would see that the woman has...something of a minor history with Interpol. That and her history as a merc who can...magically make weapons appear from thin air, she knows she's going to be watched. At least thats the assumption.

While Ty has several nicer outfits she could wear, the woman chose comfort over style. Mostly cause she likes to have some freedom of movement if things sideways. The woman is in a cropped black t-shirt, cold shoulder style, leaving her shoulders free. Her pants, baggy carpenter pants with plenty of room to move without tripping. She approaches the club, showing the letter, and the bouncers let her right in. She's led to conference room, where she takes a seat.

Ty does take stock in the enterences and exits of the room, and coldly disects the room, and the situration. She's expecting something of a test, or fight. Especially since she knows she showed skills that she knows isn't in her file, with no knowledge of how she got them, or what they are. There's a small smirk tugging at her lips. The woman has a plan in her head, but reminds herself that no plan survives contact.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
Indeed, upon arrival Ty was treated like an honored guest, and escorted directly up to a conference room with no conversation other than a brief greeting from her 'escorts'. There is all manner of debauchery on display, flagrant use of wealth, drinking, and the like, but when she is escorted to a more business-like area, it could be easy to forget all of that.

Seated in the office as she arrives is a man that her files would most likely identify to her - Sebastian Shaw. He rises up as she enters, dressed in his trademark Victorian era attire - a purple jacket, white silk shirt with frills spilling out from collar and cuff, tight black pants that end at the knee, and black boots.

"I appreciate your acceptance of my invitation," he says, crossing over towards her and extending a hand in greeting. "I am Sebastian Shaw, owner of the Hellfire Club."

Tynan Ireton has posed:
Ty nods her head a little bit. "Forgive me, I don't shake hands very often.", she tells. One quick look would easily show why. Her hands are more then a little rough. There's calluses all over her hands. Even using shooting gloves, there's still the fact that the woman does do a large number of jobs, and training. And it shows quite a bit. And Ty isn't exactly the High Table type.

"Thank you for sending the invitation.", she says with a slight bow. A gentleman's bow. Ty is watching her manners quite a bit today. "May I ask as to why I was summon?", the woman asks. Ty has a fair idea. She was talking to a large number of people who have connections internationally. And that she was constantly keeping just slightly ahead of containment during the whole incident.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
The hand is withdrawn and Sebastian shrugs, clearly no offense taken. "Understandable, if unfortunately. You can learn a lot about a person from how they shake your hand." He indicates a seat at the table before stepping back towards his own chair.

"I appreciate people who cut to the chase." Sebastian smiles as he slides into the seat. "It is simple - I thought someone of your unique talents might potentially find a home here at the Hellfire Club. And I was wondering if you might be interested."

Tynan Ireton has posed:
"Aye. Thus why I don't do so. Keep people guessing.", Tynan tells. She carefully takes a seat. The woman takes a deep breath, to settle her thoughts and mind. Her weight shifts slightly, so that the back of her knees are close to the chair. If she stands up quickly, she'll push the chair out of the way with her legs. Somebody trained her very well as well as to be cautious. "May I inquire as to what talents they might be that interests you?", the young merc asks.

"My apologies if that was offensive.", Ty comments. It might seem a little silly, but Ty is playing a little bit of chess with Mister Shaw at the moment. Trying to figure out how much he knows versus how much is investigation.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Sensible strategy," replies Shaw. He seems to take note of how she sits. It seems that he is not a stranger to tactics either. He nods slightly, and then reclines in his seat. He is taking no such protective measures.

"Hardly offensive, but also not the most productive if you are trying to interview for a position." Shaw chuckles. "I realize I am the one who summoned you, you might say, but this is an opportunity to move into a bigger world than you are now. So do your best to impress me, and you will find it rather rewarding, I assure you."

Tynan Ireton has posed:
The young merc nods her head a bit. "Well, I must admit that I was caught unprepared for such invitations. That as such, understanding the source of the invitation is practical.", she states. Ty lets out a slow breath. She knows that she needs to impress Shaw, but she doesn't want to tip her hand too much. To a certain extent, she's struggling. The woman was trained to handle negotations, but she doesn't understand the finer arts as of yet.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
On the other hand, Shaw seems to be delighting in the struggle. "And here I was thinking that you had been trained to be prepared for _any_ situation." Shaw leans further back in his seat. "Not every challenge is going to come at you waving a gun from a doorway. Some are a bit more...subtle."
He seems to be studying her reactions to his words. "You know the source, I have told you the reason. You should be able to connect the rest of the dots."

Tynan Ireton has posed:
Ty pauses at this, and thinks things out a little bit. She remembers not too long ago, she came to the Club to seek out sources of income. Security flagged her, and started to contain her. She evaded containment using skills that were not part of her known skill set. She has shown that she is still learning, growing, and in unpredictble ways. As for joining the Hellfire Club, she would garner access to contacts, resources, and knowledge that she would otherwise not be able to garner in other ways. She doesn't know Shaw's resources, or connections. The merc can hazard guesses, but guesswork is not productive in the field or in the office.

"I see.", the woman says. She takes a deep breath, releasing it slowly. And the man is right. Not every threat comes charging in. She knows this, having to had think about how things are phrased and worded in contracts. And as a young merc, she's usually the pawn pushed forward as the sacrifice. "I must admit youth and inexperience at this point. There is much that I must learn to gain what I desire. May I accept this invitation?", she asks politely.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
Shaw seems patient enough to allow her to puzzle out her responses on her own. He does not rush her, but sits in silence, allowing it to hang between them as if wholly comfortable with it. When she finally speaks of it, he nods his head slowly. "You may."

He reaches into his pocket and withdraws a small envelope. Small, but not exactly thin. He slides it across the table. "The details are within. Consider this a trial. Do well, and we can have a deeper conversation, and one in which I would hope that you are more forthright about your abilities."

Within is a small piece of paper with a few details - a location, the description of a box - and a stack of cash. A sizeable stack of cash.

Tynan Ireton has posed:
Ty opens up the envelope. She reads the location, the desc, and blinks at the sizeable stack of cash. She blinks a few times at that bundle. She doesn't even see this much in several jobs. Her eyes are almost as big as the stack. Yeah, a definite sign that she hasn't had many big jobs yet. The woman takes a deep breath to settle herself a bit. "How long do I have?", she asks.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
There is a bit of a twinkle in Sebastian's eyes. "Less time than when you asked that question," comes his reply. "Do not rush the job, of course, but suffice it to say, you are being judged on all measures."

He leans back in his seat, watching for her reaction.

Tynan Ireton has posed:
The mercenary nods her head as she gets up. She's careful not to knock the chair over, and turns around. She starts to head for the door. "All options are on the table?", the woman asks. Her mind is already thinking of what supplies and gear she's going to need for this op. The woman knows she's going to have to get the scope off her Lynx rifle though. She knows she doesn't have to rush, but she does need to have that sense of urgency. A day of scouting shouldn't hurt too much, unless something gives her an oppertunity first.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Whatever you think is best." replies Sebastian, smiling enigmatically as he provides the non-answer. "You will, of course, be judged on whichever options you use. So choose wisely."
