Mary Jane Watson has posed:
The meetup is over. Gwen and Miles have had to head out to do their own things - patrol, school.. All thsoe normal bits! Mary Jane is the one handling cleanup and the dishes. May made those deliscious wheat-cakes, and MJ is at least handling the cleanup. She's pushing the dishes to air dry, and then glancing about. She's humming 'Material Girl' while she finishes up in the kitchen.

Peter Parker has posed:
It's been a bit of tap-dancing with Peter and 'Ben'. Ever since Peter returned from his excursion they've had to carefully plan their visits so May isn't confronted with TWO Peter Parkers at the same time. Fortunately Ben had agreed to go out on patrol, giving Peter the run of May's place. There are always chores to be done and things to do, but for Peter this time is more about connecting with Aunt May. His absence was just a few weeks for him, but the better part of a year for May.

Not that she knew Peter was ever gone... but guilt's a funny thing.

"Hey, MJ," comes a familiar voice. Peter steps up next to her at the sink and deposits the last load of dishes. Rather helpfully, he starts pre-rinsing and wiping them down to be run through the washer. "Thanks for volunteering to clean up, but you know you don't have to, right?" he reminds her, and looks sidelong at the redhead. "I don't mind taking care of the cleaning."

And there's Mary Jane finishing with the dishes, and turning over to face Peter. "Hey Pete!" She goes to move over to give him a big hug after sliding hte towel she was using to dry the plates down to the side. "How you been? We were just chatting earlier about fun and life experiences lately. Gwen was wondering if a teamup with a porcine provocoteur was real or not, Miles was going through the roster of all your animal type baddies and we were playing bingo to figure out which one.. Savage Land got invaded by aliens infecting dinosaurs and making them killer mutants.."

Life is hard. Life is normal. And Mary Jane is making sure to give Peter that edge of normalcy. If he wants to talk, she's here. If he wants to be flippant and just deflect, that's fine as well. She's far from the best at coping skills in the world.

"You missed cookies and wheatcakes fresh from the oven, Parker. This is my pain, this is my burden. You're the one that missed out, so this is my responsibility. With great cookies comes great cleanup."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter embraces MJ with warm familiarity and releases her after a squeeze. He listens to her explanation with a growing smile as she dumps the events of the last few months out. All he can do is shake his head in bemusement at the stories she brings forth.

"'Idle hands make for the devil's playground'," he quotes at MJ. "I don't mind helping out with cleanup. The important thing is making May happy," he declares.

"Though I am glad to hear that everything's um... business as usual," he quips, and flashes a sidelong grin at MJ. "I mean, as normal as it gets for us."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would pff, "Well, I don't know how much that applies. Devils are real. I think they're just as flummoxed about reality as the rest of us are. So I guess any hands can end up playthings, busy or not." She goes to hug him a bit more and then releases.

"And yes, May being happy is the most important thing. And May's cookies offered as incentive and bribery are very, very good as incentives."

She would smile, "Yup. Nice to know that in this world of chaos, craziness, and occasionally anarchy things being nonsense is about the ordinary."
