We're Closed!
Date of Scene: 23 August 2023
Location: The Thrones Art Complex
Synopsis: Asariel's true nature is starting to come out...and it's starting to worry some. Agent McCarthy is there to save the day though!
Cast of Characters: Asariel, Tom McCarthy

Asariel has posed:
If Tom had been doing check ins or things of that nature, he'd figure out that Asariel was starting to settle in a bit more. She'd been trying to figure out more about the last year and change, but she was carrying on with work and painting. She'd also been disappearing into an area of the complex that was not visible or even trackable.

Which is something that's got to pique the Agent's curiosity!

It is close to ten in the evening and there are a few late night gallery patrons that have filtered out, leaving one person there looking over the pieces of artwork. Asariel's been patiently awaiting for them to leave and as she's for some reason tired this evening. "We're closing in about fifteen minutes if that's not a problem, sir." she tells the man wearing a suit and looking rather disgruntled at one of the angelic paintings. She doesn't approach though. She didn't want to really get in arms reach of anyone.

Tom McCarthy has posed:
While he was on task to keep an eye on her, he did not want to crowd her or make her feel uncomfortable. He kept to the edges, greeting her if she greeted him - other than that, she was left to her devices. No need to interfere in her remembering. Tom was standing near another of the paintings, taking in the art as he overheard the conversation between Asariel and the guest.

Nothing off putting about that, but it does cause him to look down to check his watch. Closing time, yep.

Asariel has posed:
Asariel gives a look over to see where Tom has went, while he's not in her recollection from the before time, she does recognize him now. And building a little trust. Giovanni is absent, but that might be for other reasons. She was about to say something to Tom, when there is a sudden commotion and the man lunges forward and rips the painting from the brackets and tosses it to the ground with force.

"This filth shouldn't be on display where children can see it!" he shouts as he stomps on the picture frame.

Everything happens so fast, one moment Asariel is standing there looking all bright eyed and customer service like and the next she is grabbing the man by the lapels and Judo throwing him across the room in a flourish.

Uh oh.

Tom McCarthy has posed:
Well, he was on duty for a reason. Moving quickly, for a human, his service tazer is drawn - the man moving over to better target the man who's been tossed. "Improper behavior is grounds for removal from the premesis, sir." Tom offers over, the non-lethal device aimed at the downed man.

"Please, don't make this difficult." While he is a soldier, he is certainly not a fan of violence.

Asariel has posed:
The man that had torn the painting off its base gives a bit of a grunt as he starts to right himself and he stops about halfway in his standing up. Trying to do it as softly as possible as he looks to the woman whose painting he just destroyed with a bit of a tremle, "I need to stop drinking." he slurs.

"Thomas, we have a problem." Digi states as he draws Tom's attention to Asariel.

Who is currently crouching in a way that signals she's about to pounce on the painting destroyer again. But the biggest problem is the silvery white glow of the womans eyes as she lets out a shout in the far off language that she used when she was rescued.

Tom McCarthy has posed:
<<Problem? With... oh. But not demonic?>> Tom asks of Digi, moving to place himself between the silvery woman and the downed man. <<Or is he the problem?>> He guesses, by the odd destructive behavior. <<Was he possessed?>> An empty hand goes up towards Asariel.

"Are we all settled, Asariel?" He asks, his attention split between the two in the conflict. The tazer remains trained on the downed man.

Asariel has posed:
<<Not demonic...but not completely Angelic either.>> Digi states. <<No, the man is just a drunk idiot...with a poor streak of luck.>> the entity muses.

Asariel for the moment is still crouched, but she blinks a few times and seems to realize that she was...not herself for the moment. The man takes this time to bolt. Because it is no good to stay here. He's drunkenly falling out the doors and down the street to never return.

Leaving Tom with a smashed painting, a woman whose eyes were glowing and...well...a lot of unanswered questions still.

Tom McCarthy has posed:
The tazer is holstered, and a quick message is whispered into his communication piece to have the drunkard picked up and charged with destruction of property. After doing so, he turns to look at the woman who was staring him down with lit eyes. "I didn't know you were multilingual, Asariel." He offers, his calmest and friendliest voice. "What was it you were saying?"

His hands are empty, palms shown to her to indicate he's not a threat.

Asariel has posed:
Asariel's eyes slowly stop glowing as Tom speaks and the woman settles herself down in the middle of the floor. "I'm sorry." she tells him. "I...speak a lot of languages. I think I was speaking Enochian. I feel comfortable with it." she states as she wrings her hands in worry. "I was telling him to leave." she explains as she looks to him.

She then starts to move, going to the door to lock it so that no one else can come in. She then moves towards the painting and starts to clean it up, "I've got all of my works insured. With the security footage it should be fine...though all of these are priceless to me." she murmurs.

Tom McCarthy has posed:
Tom nods, slowly moving with her to help with the clean up. "I called it in, they'll likely have him this evening." The agent assures. "If not within the hour." Connections are everything, after all! "Enochian." He pauses. "That's like, the language they attribute to angels, right?" He smiles, as if nothing weird was going on.

A look to the mess, and a sigh. "I can only imagine - it's a lot of work and soul put into these paintings. I'm sorry he damaged one, truly."

Asariel has posed:
"Thank you." Asariel tells him quietly as she picks up the canvas pieces and splintered wood. "I can redo it...or something like it." she states. "He's just drunk. Some of the paintings here are provocative, but I never have anything completely unseemly on display to the public." she explains. "Maybe I'm coming back to fast?" she asks him. "Enochian is the language of the angels, yes." she nods to him.

"I can take this to the studio and think over it tomorrow, have you had dinner, Agent McCrthy?" she asks him as she stands.

Tom McCarthy has posed:
He glances around, turning to her again and nodding. "You can. Perhaps it can be restored, yeah?" He suggests. "The meaning and the art is there - I'd hate to have you have to do it over, you know?" A smile. "Coming back too fast? I don't think so. You'd be a lot more out of sorts, I would guess."

"No, no dinner yet." He won't ask if she has - he knows. "Did you have plans already?"

Asariel has posed:
"I was thinking of making some pasta, if you don't have a clause about being fed by the people you're keeping track of." Asariel tells him with a bit of a smile. "Or I understand if you need to get home or things like that." she nods to him. "I think I would be out of sorts. I liked keeping busy before this. Just wish I knew what was between all of...whatever happened." she frowns.

"Let me go drop this off in the studio. The second floor is my office and my apartment if you want to take those stairs over there." she points out.

Tom McCarthy has posed:
"Agent discretion." Tom grins. "Pasta sounds fine, if you're up for company." The agent nods, patting down his suit to smooth out the lines from the previous activities. "It will come with time. You had something... magically binding you, so I'm not certain what did happen." The man admits. How he knows aboyt magic, he's not going into.

He looks to where she's pointing, before nodding. "Sure, I'll meet you up there?"
