A Trip To The Pumpkin Patch

Location:	Decker Farm, Staten Island
Synopsis:	Tom and Asariel get out of town for a few hours...and take pumpkins back as trophies!

Asariel has posed:
First dates are meant to be laid back. Maybe Asariel had went a little too laid back though for this? While Tom might have been expecting some fancy dinner at a bougie eatery the Nephilim had decided to go an entirely different route with this.

She'd asked him to meet her at Decker Farms, which was in Staten Island. It meant they weren't going to be crowded.

Hopefully.

The woman had Giovanni drop her off given that was the deal. He didn't know Tom as much as she did and it was still his job to make sure she got where she was going. She'd even gotten there early to procure tickets and things. Always prepared! She was dressed in jeans, hiking boots and a lightweight dove grey sweater given the weather was growing colder and the wind was a bit of a pain. She'd told him to dress for walking and for outdoors at least!

Tom McCarthy has posed:
Following instructions, the man showed up wearing a nice cream cable-knit sweater, jeans and hiking boots. He had no idea what she had planned, but she said dress for walking! He's warm enough, happy to be out of the city for a spell. Truly, he's an urban guy, but seeing the countryside was always nice.

He was on time, arriving earlier than the agreed upon time. Miltiary thinking - if you're on time, you're late. Tom grins when he spots her, giving her a nod and wave as he moves closer to where she was standing. "You're earlier than I am." The man chuckles. "Hope you weren't waiting too long?"

Asariel has posed:
Asariel was just in the middle of straightening the long braid she'd tamed her hair back into when she saw Tom. There was a smile that immediatley brightened her features. "Well, I didn't want to get caught in traffic or anything like that and I figured I wouldn't make you wait through ticket buying and all of that." she admits. "And no, not waiting long." she tells him.

"I hope that a trek through a corn maze and then picking pumpkins to take back and carve is an alright first date. They've got food trucks and all of that as well. I figured fresh air would be nice as opposed to something crowded and bougie." she offers.

"Though we can do that another time if things go well." she grins.

"The drive wasn't bad, was it?" she asks him.

Tom McCarthy has posed:
"No, not a bad drive at all. Kind of a chill thing - crusing along and enjoying the music and scenery." Tom admits. "You look wonderful, Asariel." The man offers over once near enough to be polite. "Glad you asked me out." A wink.

"Corn maze, I've not done that since I was very young." The man chuckles, offering her his hand. "And carving pumpkins sounds like a good time. I won't even cheat and have Digi make a specialized blade."

<<That would be beneath me, Tom.>>

The man laughs at the internal comment. "What food trucks do they have here?" He glances around, before looking back to her.

Asariel has posed:
"I'm glad it wasn't too out of the way. I feel like getting out of the city from time to time can be good for the mental health." Asariel tells him with a softer smile. There's a look up to him and she grins, "Thank you. I like your sweater." she tells him. "Well, I figured that it would be a shame if I didn't." she teases him.

"My mom took me once and then we just got too busy after that." she explains. "Never too old to do one. Or to carve pumpkins and things." she admits. "I think I've got a sword or two if Digi doesn't want to help out." she grins.

"Looks like they've got BBQ, burgers and desserts. So I'm guessing we'll need all the walking." she chuckles. "Where would you like to start?" she asks him.

Tom McCarthy has posed:
The agent smirks, shrugging. "Like I said, it was a nice drive. I enjoy it - it's pretty peaceful when I get a chance to get on the road. Normally, work has me jetting everywhere. No real time to enjoy the trip." Tom laughs. "Never too old to celebrate a holiday, truthfully. Especially one specifically to drive off evil spirits."

"No need for swords, knives work better I am sure. Unless you're just looking to cleave a pumpkin in two." A wink. "Sounds like we have our choice of things then. Shall we?" He motions to the maze.

Asariel has posed:
Asariel walks along with him and there is a smile as he speaks, being attentive at the moment. "I was born on Halloween. So there is a little more to the holiday for me." she muses to that. She heads with him towards the maze and there is a look over it given it is massive.

"Hopefully they have signal in there in case we get really lost." she laughs.

"I mean, cleaving a pumpkin in two with a sword might be good therapy. Especially if you bake it into a pie after that." she points out. "Do you like haunted houses and things like that, Tom?" she asks him as they head in past a few scarecrows pointing the way into the maze.

Tom McCarthy has posed:
An oh from the man, grinning. "Interesting day to be born, I am sure. Made for some fun birthday parties?" He guesses, looking to her as they stroll towards the maze. It's clear he's not too concerned over the size of it - he's got tricks if needed!

"A signal?" He wonders. "Like a whistle? They used to give us whistles as kids so we could blow them and get found if needed." A grin.

Tom pauses as she mentions haunted houses. "I mean, I like the concept. I am afraid I got a bit spooked due to some trauma from overseas to really enjoy it. I don't want to react in a negative fashion, you know? I love horror movies, though."

Asariel has posed:
Asariel gives him a smile, "I actually wasn't able to have a normal childhood. My mom was always traveling and given my origins she kept me in home schooling and other things." she tells him. "I didn't start having parties until I was on my own." she explains. "But it has been fun mostly." she adds to him.

"Phone signal. Just in case we have to call in reinforcements." she teases him gently.

There is an understanding look when he explains about the haunted houses and she nods, "I apologize, that didn't cross my mind, but I understand why it would be best not to do those things." she admits. "Well, that at least leads me to another date idea...should we survive this one." she muses to that.
