Cast of Characters: Mark Grayson, Bunny Macleod

Mark Grayson has posed:
Mark had gotten a notice of a package delivery. Once he had gone down to the campus post office and saw the return address, he was excited and immediately sent a text to Bunny.

>> Coming over for breakfast, got a surprise!

On his way to Bunny's place, he stopped and picked up a couple of Sausage McMuffins and coffees - with plenty of cream and sugar as he made his way to Bunny's apartment. He puts in the code and comes in, bag and coffee settle on top of the wardrobe box. "Bunbun!" he calls out. "I'm home!" Because really, he is pratically living with her at this point.

Bunny Macleod has posed:
He is, for all intents and purposes, pretty much living in Bunny's apartment now.

Bunny had gotten up and washed up, feed the Beeper who was now happily meandering around the faded peacock blue carpet, and Bunny was in a pair of pajama pants with happy little cats frollicking on them and a sweatshirt that may actually be Mark's, because it hangs down to her knees.

"Hey Mark!" she greets with a grin, and was about ready to tackle him before realizing he was carrying food -- instead she hits the food first, grasping a sausace mcmuffin (breakfast of champions).

    "BunBun finds this tribute satisfactory!"

Mark Grayson has posed:
Mark uses the bag to prevent a Bunny tackle. At least for now! As she grabs her food, he goes over to the kitchen table, setting down the box and coffees before taking the other sandwich for himself.

"Oh, I am glad I have pleased the Bun." he says coyly as he comes over to her, leaning in to give her a kiss. After breaking from her, he winks. "The box is for you. Late birthday present."

If she goes over to check on the box, she'll see the return address is from the Tailor Shoppe.

Bunny Macleod has posed:
"We weren't even really seriously dating on my birthday." Bunny replies, though she comes over to investigate the box -- and notices the address.

"OH! It's from Art!" she gleefully states, and sets down her sausage mcmuffin (now with three Bunbites taken out of it) and wipes her hands off to hold the box in her hands, thoughtfully, considering the value of a new costume. She hadn't seen the final design -- she was too busy attempting to not embarass Mark at dinner with his parents.

"Okay. Okayokayokay." she whispers. "I can do this. I have an official costume now.

Mark Grayson has posed:
"No, we weren't, but it's entirely too soon to call it Christmas." Mark points out with amusement. And he delights in watching her gleeful celebration and watches her as she studies the tag. With all the materials listed, it came out to almost $750 dollars, just to make it durable enough that it would take an enemy of Invincible's caliber to damage it.

"Bunny?" he asks, overhearing her whisper. "You never needed a costume to be an official hero. You always have been, for as long as I've known you."

"You've always had /it/." he offers encouragingly.

Bunny Macleod has posed:
"Mark, who's supposed to hype who?" Bunny gives a laugh, and she takes a deep breath. "It's different. I don't have a family legacy, or decades of lab training, or secret magic twin from another dimension. I don't have a Mentor like Hawkeye does, or alien symbiotes --" she pauses, and looks to Mark with an 'OR DO I?' expression, but she takes a deep breath, and slowly lets it out.

And she opens up the package, ripping one of the box lids clear off in excitement before rattling the tissue paper and whispering:

"ooooh snap lookit this kevlar bits! Hello you beautiful piece of superhero fashion."

Mark Grayson has posed:
"We hype each other, it's a total symbiotic relationship." Mark takes a bite of his sandwich, considers. "So yes, you have an alien symbiote." he deadpans between bites. "I had a similar reaction when dad took me to get my first costume. I was in a bit of a rush, so I let Art do most of the work. I may retool it someday." he figures.

When she opens the box and starts to unwrap it, Mark moves to settle on the couch with his coffee. Folding one leg over the other to make a platform for his coffee, he chuckles as he listens to her excitement. "Don't keep me in suspense!" he calls out. "Let's see what you got!"

Bunny Macleod has posed:
"Which is how you got an I as part of your costume. Nyeeh." Bunny sticks her tongue out, and then takes up the costume box, and turns to duck into the bathroom.

"So basically I've got to put on zero pounds, lose zero muscle mass and also never take too deep a breath is the general rule for girl's costumes. Like, who decided that all young women superheroes have to wear miniskirts? Was it the Mangaka? Pretty sure it's leftover from the OG Sailor Moon..." she states conversationally and with zero conviction in her statements. There's the rustling of heavy fabric as she pulls everything on and together. "The integrated guards were *such* a good idea and he made them so *nice* it's like they're not guards at all. Oh-Em-Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Mark Grayson has posed:
Mark watches the bathroom door, listening to Bunny as she goes on about female costumes. "I mean, I was in Metropolis last night trailing the Mauler Twins and teamed up with Supergirl. She rocks a mini-skirt pretty awesomely." He considers his words for a moment and adds.

"One of the Maulers was mocking her about it. He made her bleed and she seemed... happy about it." A shake of his head that she can't see. "I don't know if she was happy to cut loose, happy to be hit and feel it, or just happy to dish out as much punishment as she could. She beat the Twin to a pulp. If he survives, I'll be surprised."

"But the other one escaped, so give it a few days and they will be twins once again." he admits as he finishes off his sandwich and chases it with a sip of coffee. There's a bright smile as she's heard squeeing in the bathroom.

Bunny Macleod has posed:
"Well that's different. Supergirl's Kryptonian. They're like. The Tour d' Force of Superherodom. About the ONLY person who might be able to keep up with Superman is *maybe* your dad in his heyday." Bunny states, and she stretches her arm out a little to test the flexibility in the shoulders.

"Mauler Twins huh? Do they like... bud off like some plants do if there's less than two?" she questions in curiosity, and there's a quick sound of a brush running through hair. "This costume should also withstand more fast flying around, but it doesn't feel super warm either. Art does *gooood* work, this is so much better than the second-hand-store stuff I was wearing --" Bunny states, and she pokes her head out. She's done her hair in a pair of quick French braids.

    "Ready for the big reveal?"

Mark Grayson has posed:
"Dad mentioned once that perhaps he could have handled Superman. But you know dad's like to bluster to their kids." Mark comments with a small laugh as he considers her words. "No, they clone each other. Neither of them know who the original is any more, or if they are both just clones of clones. But only, always, only two. I don't know why they don't make more. Just some weird thing for them. Not even sure they're human with the blue skin, being seven foot tall and muscular..."

When she peeks her head out, Mark sits up more properly. She did her hair up. She really is excited! And he's happy to see the freckles on display as well! "Ready!" he states with enthusiasm.

Bunny Macleod has posed:
"Maybe customized DNA upgrades?" Bunny suggests as her nose wrinkles a moment, and then the door opens wider, blocking her from view -- and then she closes it quickly!

The whole ensemble has a pink theme to it - not girly teaparty pink, but a dark, dusky rose that's blood red with a bit of orange and lightened up to the shades of a late sunset. She's not wearing skates, at the moment, but the costume does go down to her feet. There's little separations where the thinner 'booties' can be removed. She has shin protectors that flare out into knee pads, made from toughened kevlar weave, outlined and then colored in with a darker pink, like a rose garden at night. It has a modified, asymetric skirt with a badge at the hip with, yes, a matte finished circle with a P on it, but it's not obvious. The ribs are re-enforced with boning to help guard any blows coming to the sensitive areas, which leads up to a boddice that is fit for compression and doesn't allow for anything to jiggle out of place, with the offset color of the darker rose over her chest. The piping along the collar shows the high Nehru style suit collar that guards the lower part of her neck.

The gloves have re-enforced knuckles and wrists, along with arm guards that wouldn't look out of place on Samurai armor, leading up to simple upper arms and shoulders that allow for the greatest amount of movement.

    Bunny hops a moment, nervously.

"I... I think he did a great job."

Mark Grayson has posed:
Mark stands up, looking Bunny over, from painted toes all the way up to her French braids, drinking in every part of his girlfriend in her costume. "Holy wow." he manages, his jaw sorta slack at recognizing exactly how... how...

/Gorgeous/ Bunny is in that costume.

"Wow." he says again, because he can't seem to find another word to put on it. Art has outdone himself with Bunny's direction. And Prisma looks real, official and he's bouncing on the balls of his feet and then finally realizes.

"Activate your powers! I wanna see what it looks like with your powers!"

Bunny Macleod has posed:
Bunny gives a bright grin as she looks up at Mark. The changes a costume can make to visible maturity! She felt... actually seen and very good about this uniform.

And she turns around, a simple turn on the ball of her feet and then activates a shield, the prismatic colors lighting up not only in the shield she puts between herself and Mark, but also along the piping of the uniform on her collar, and arm and shin guards -- along with the P on the badge at her hip, showing the white light striking the P and then errupting into primsatic colors beneath!

Mark Grayson has posed:
He gets to see the skirts in action and then she pops her shields. "Oh my gosh! He actually did the reflecting P! Bunny! You got your own Spider-Signal!" he bursts into happy laughter, just totally estatic about how her costume turned out.

"You look amazing, spectacular... you're just... wow, Bunny!" And soon as that shield is down, he's rushing forward to sweep up Bunny into a hug, lifting her off the ground. "Oh! I'm so glad we did this!"

Bunny Macleod has posed:
"Yeah, I'll give him that, that was the right choice to do it on the badge." Bunny laughs from Mark's arms, dangling around him as she gives a bright grin. "I'll have to send something nice to Art and to your parents for their help paying for it. I just... this is... it feels official, you know? Like 'wow, I'm a REAL hero!'" Bunny gives a bright grin, her arms wrapped around Mark's neck -- and she might be crying a little bit.

Mark Grayson has posed:
"Oh, love..." Mark leans in, kissing her cheeks under the assault of happy tears. "They'll be taking it out of my allowance for the next six months." he admits with a laugh, and shakes his head. "As real as I am, Bunny." he agrees, squeezing her tight to him. Another grin and he finally moves to set her down. "We should totally show it off! Go on a patrol together, or visit somebody. I bet Gabby would be happy to see you got a costume!"

Bunny Macleod has posed:
Bunny is set down, and she does her excited Bunny hop on the balls of her feet. "I should reach out to her and let her know we'll come for a visit! But first -- you should let Art know we got the package and everything's *perfect*, and we should send a picture of us on patrol to your parents. 'Cause obvs, I'm sure knowin' your allowance went to a good cause -- stopping you from worrying about your girlfriend taking a punch -- should be good for them too, right?"

Mark Grayson has posed:
"I know you can perfectly protect yourself from a punch, Bunny." Mark responds, but she has a damn good idea! Grabbing his phone, he lifts it and turns on the camera. "Okay, power pose for me!" he teases her, waiting for her to set up how she wants to look for the first picture in her costume.

Bunny Macleod has posed:
"Yeah not one of YOUR punches though!" Bunny lilts musically as she looks behind her, and chooses a stance. She makes her shield again between her and Mark, translucent and prismatic, the badge lighting up again as she pulls on her flight goggles, and makes a DRAMATIC, SERIOUS, HEROIC facial expression!

Mark Grayson has posed:
Mark takes several pictures, getting several shots of Bunny in her serious pose. As he scrolls through them, he considers her and then smirks. "You know, Bunny..." he says idly, almost passively.

"You look like you really need to go to the bathroom." And he waits for her reaction, just so he can catch a picture of 'that' reaction.

Bunny Macleod has posed:
Bunny's brows knit a moment as she looks at Mark with a puzzled expression, her lips slightly pursed and pouted out as she tries to figure out if there was a joke she missed or if Mark was being seriously, and she loses her shield, and gives a perfect' huwhat?' expression to her dark-haired heroic bo yfriend.

Mark Grayson has posed:
And that is when she will hear the tell-tale 'shutter-click' of his phone catching her expression. Mark starts cackling as he quickly moves to stand up, ready to get the phone out of reach of grabby Bunny hands! "Best picture yet!" he teases.

Bunny Macleod has posed:
"NOOO MARK!" Bunny protests, hearing the sound of LENS BETRAYAL! And she then tackles him, slinging all her meager weight at his middle as she koalas him (because let's face it, she wouldn't win in a physical fight), and she whines 'Maaaaaaaaaarrrrrrk!'

"You'd better not show that to AAANYBODY. Especially not your parents. Or I'm askin' your mom for baby pictures!"

Mark Grayson has posed:
Tumbling back onto the couch, phone held well over his head as Bunny koala's him, Mark laughing merrily. "No, that one's for me, because any time I think I'm getting too serious, I can pull it up and giggle at it!" he promises her.

He wriggles beneath her, in no real hurry to get away, but he locks the phone and drops it on the couch in order to bring his arms down wrap Bunny up into a tight embrace. "I'm surprised you didn't when we were over for dinner, she'd probably broke them out for you!" he admits with a soft chuckle before brushing his hands along her cheeks to frame her face. "You look great, Bunny. I love you."

Bunny Macleod has posed:
Bunny huffs, her cheeks puffing out a bit as she looks over at Mark with a grumpy expression, and then just... smiles. She leans her forehead against his. "Nah. I can wait to see your baby pictures. It's not like you'll ever get to see mine." She smiles, and brushes her fingers over Mark's cheeks, the gloves of her costume textured for good grip on her batons.

"Art does great work. Should I like... send flowers? A fruit basket? Beer of the Month Club Membership?"

Mark Grayson has posed:
Mark doesn't mind the texture difference that much. His skin is pretty damn tough after all! Rubbing his forehead against hers, his arms moving to hold her at her mid-section loosely. There's a brief frown at Bunny admitting that Mark will never see her baby pictures. He holds it in his heart that someday, her dad will accept her for who she is and at least communicate with her.

The question about Art snaps him out of his thoughts. "I think the first time he sees you on TV, that will be more than enough payment. He's proud of his work. But you could send him a card, he might like that."

Bunny Macleod has posed:
"I'll do that. I mean, that's the least I can do since your dad wouldn't let me *pay* for my own outfit." Bunny replies, and she gives a small laugh.

"Man, how's he going to react if we get like, married? -- NOT THAT I AM THINKING ABOUT THAT." Bunny quickly adds, looking panicked. "I mean we've only even known each other for like, three months, but it feels like a lifetime and things feel right and I'm having a good time but you're in college and I'm a highschool drop out and Marriage is a REALLY big expensive word and I don't think either of us are ready for that discussion so Imma gonna.. just --" she flails a moment.

    "SO HOW 'BOUT DEM METS?"

Mark Grayson has posed:
Mark laughs. And then laughs some more. "Dad knows Art needs the business. And is expensive. You can just help out on the next couple of dates, like we're supposed to be doing, and I'll consider it paid up." he suggests to her. "Or you can save up the money and send it to Art yourself. At worse, he'll send you a second costume for you to have on hand in case something happened to this one."

And then there's a lift of one... and then both brows as he listes to Bunny going on about marriage and he moves to sit up, keeping Bunny close. "There's no rush. We know that we have the feels for each other." he comments, looking thoughtful. "And we have plenty of time to figure it out. We're together and we're happy and that's what matters most to be at the moment."

"You're working on your GED, I'm in college. We're not ready, I agree. But I can appreciate what we've built together. I don't ever what you to feel rushed or pushed... if you'd rather I not stay over so much...?"

Bunny Macleod has posed:
    Bunny blinks.

    And then koalas Mark again.

"Nope. I sleep better knowing that if any blue-skinned alien types teleport into my livingroomt here's someone who can punch 'em out." Bunny replies, holding onto Mark tightly as she gives a huff.

"It was a passing thought. I didn't want you to suddenly get uncomfortable and like, crab-walk sideways outta the picture because 'damnit this girl is crazy'." Bunny points out, and then she releases Mark, and rolls onto her side and then sits up on the couch.

"But yeah, ah... in a couple of years? That'd be a fine thing to think about and talk about. Maybe after I'm outta school."

Mark Grayson has posed:
Mark laughs and brushes his hands over Bunny's back. "Part of me was bracing for the 'I feel crowded, I need more space, that leads into the I want to break up' talk." He has had the worst luck in relationships. And maybe he's the one in the wrong. At least that's how it feels. And he realized he did it again. Three months in and co-habbing. Is it too fast?

Then Bunny soothes it over before he she moves to sit up and next to him. His hand drops to lace his fingers with her. "Two years? I'll have to check my calendar." he teases quietly. "We'll just play it by ear. You're really good at that, as I already know. If you need more or less time, we'll talk. We communicate wonderfully, Bun."

"Is that okay?"

Bunny Macleod has posed:
"Clear communication makes sure everyone gets out of the situation alive." Bunny flashes a thumbs up to Mark, and gives a bright laugh. "It'll be fine, Mark. No worries. We already go together like peas and carrots!" Bunny gives a smile as she laces her fingers with him. "We'll play it by ear. I'm good at that." she confirms, and then leans her head against his shoulder.

"There's no rush for anything. Except to finish my breakfast before we patrol." she jokes.

Mark Grayson has posed:
Releasing her hand, Mark gives Bunny a quick kiss. "Go eat, I have to change into my costume, anyway." he points out as he gets up, grabbing his backpack to head to the bathroom to change himself.

"Hey, do you think we can drop by the Young Avenger's headquarters while we're out. I want to see where I may find you if you ever go missing... and maybe meet some of your friends?" Big step, am I right?

Bunny Macleod has posed:
"Heck yeah we can! I'm sure everyone will wanna see my new outfit. Might get Art more business."

Mark Grayson has posed:
"Sounds good! Now eat, I'm gonna change, be out in a couple of minutes and we'll go!" Mark responds with renewed optimism.
