Location: Faculty Lounge
Synopsis: Storm and Monet talk. Negasonic drops by. There is disappointment.
Cast of Characters: Monet St. Croix, Ororo Munroe, Negasonic

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Halloween is in the air. Preparations for festivities are afoot. Many of the studetns and teachers have joined in festivals going on in Westchester and parties that will go on throughout the month. Monet St. Croix? She prepares in a different way.
Laid out around her on a table in the faculty room are various dossiers on mystical and supernatural threats that the members of the team have encountered throughout the years

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo comes into the lounge, carrying a shopping bag of candy to keep safe from the students until the appropriate time. Considering the resourcefulness of the studentbody, this seemed like the safest place. She gives Monet a smile, "I suspect you're not preparing for Halloween quite the same way?"

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would glance at Storm, "Miss Munroe." her accent would be highly educated French. "Given the wide variety of incidents which spike around this time of year, it is appropriate to analyse htem to anticipate what ones that could come up. While there are a number of magically gifted amongst the faculty and student bodies, most of them are not primarily focused at the school, so thier aid cannot be counted on."

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo nods, "Well, considering the sheer amount of enemies we have there, it's definitely prudent to be aware of them. I've always wondered why we haven't tried reaching out to more mystically-inclined allies a bit more proactively." Well, she knows /precisely/ why, but it's not something she's going to rehash here and now, since it's been settled for a while now.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would nod, "I am unaware of such reasoning, Miss Munroe. I presume that there is something more that I am unfamiliar with, or that it has been estalbished but such ties are more discrete given the.. Nature of the school."

Negasonic has posed:
Band t-shirt, short, freshly buzzed hair. Black lipstick, and big, stompy black boots. And jeans with chains hanging from the pockets - that was the whirlwind known as Negasonic Teenage Warhead. She sticks her head into the teacher's lounge, her features always at their stoic cut. "Have to turn something in," she says. "... for texting during one of the classes," she adds. She had a paper, waggling it in the wind. She was texting now.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo smiles, "I can take care of that. Only /one/ of the classes though?" She quirks a brow over at NTW, a gust of wind carrying the paper right to her fingers as she reviews the note carefully. She then asides to Monet, "Precisely that. I feel we should be a bit more open to certain others, but I understand the concerns, so." She shrugs a bit, hrmming a bit as her eyebrow arches a bit more while she reads the paper.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would look over at Ellie, "Do forgive me, Ms. Phimister, but why are you mouthing along the words? you are not in direct discussion with anyone." Is Ellie.. Typing out loud what she's saying!? Will that take away her phone cred if she's caught doing so?
She would nod to Ororo, "That would be more your domain than mine, Ms. Munroe." M is still a kissup, yes.

Negasonic has posed:
"What?" asks NTW of Monet, her eyes narrowing as she snaps her gum. "More open to what?" she asks. The gust of wind that grabs her note and tugs it towards Ororo's fingers. It was a makeup essay. Although a more astute teacher might notice the marks of ChatGPT all over it. A shrug of her shoulders. "It was for history," she says. "The history of the cellular phone. The teacher probably thought they were being cute," she says.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo frowns a bit as she reads the essay, noticing the marks all too easily as she glances sidelong at Negasonic, "I suppose your teacher didn't mention that we've been seeding catchphrases into AI search engines online to trip up students that try to use them in their reports?" She gets a bit of a sly look at that, "Though I appreciate the irony of that assignment."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would look to Ellie, "You could be far more efficient if you're attempting to find ways to minimize your input." Monet restrains herself from displaying her knowledge of said far, far more efficient ways.

Negasonic has posed:
The young woman furrows her brows. "F**k," she says, her tone of voice restrained. "Whatever," she ends up saying, with a shrug of her shoulders as her thumb dances across the keys of her phone, her eyes briefly going to the stimulating screen there. "Anyways. Didn't mean to interrupt your... whatever you were talking about. If you wanted to get to that," she says, looking back to Monet. It was kinda a dark look, but really, Ellie was trying to follow along with what M was saying.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo grins, "Indeed." A gust of wind blows the paper back to Negasonic, "I'll let your teacher know that you'll have the assignment in by Monday morning. Clearly this is a rough draft and you simply wanted a second opinion before turning in the final paper." In other words, Ororo is being nice and tossing Ellie an out rather than getting into deeper trouble with said teacher.

Negasonic has posed:
With a low groan at the back of her throat, Ellie reaches out her hand to snatch up the paper, and wiggles her hand in only a vaguely, vaguely sarcastic wave to both of the older women. Was that a grumble as she steps outside of the faculty office again? Maybe. There were definitely phone noises coming from there, too as Ellie wanders off.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
As Ellie would go away, MOnet would harrumph, "At the very least she could have made a dedicated effort in the matter. It's like she didn't care." Didn't.. Care enough to cheat over on the paper she was working on in a way that would actually pass.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo doesn't laugh until after she leaves, but once Ellie is out of earshot, she chuckles loudly, "Hopefully this next time she won't rely on online search engines to write it, but we'll see. Sometimes students need to have a more specific kind of motivation." She hrms, "I know I wasn't exactly the most... studious person at her age."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would glance over at Ororo, "She should know better. There are academic habits, and there are those dedicated to frivolities." She expects Ellie to be able to cheat better. Or at least to pretend to cheat better. "Then she should be given firmer consequences in the matter."

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo nods, "Well, she should. Hopefully she's at least going to get the lesson that she's going to need to at least put forth /some/ work. Even if its in cheating better." She then goes back to hiding the candy stash to where the other students won't find it. Or certain of the faculty for that matter. The candy is meant for the kids, LOGAN.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would fold her hands together, "At the very least she should show some creativity in the matter. I would have hoped at the very least.." Ah well. Only M would say that Ellie should know a -better- chat program to use to fake it.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo chuckles. "Well, I'm pretty sure that was the intent of the paper assignment in the first place. But, well, in this case hopefully the final product will be a bit more original, one way or another."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would shrug, "Or merely be more creative in putting limitations upon her so at the very least she's required to be more creative to incentivize her to do her job properly." After all, learning wasn't always about writ memorization and repetition.
