Date of Scene: 08 October 2023
Location: Financial District
Synopsis: Windrose and Ant Man face the scary STILT MAN!
Cast of Characters: Mary Jane Watson, Scott Lang, Audra Meridian

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
It's an early summer evening over in New York. The Financial District is normal. By 'Normal' we mean a rapid stomping man on extendable legs running at about fourty miles an hour, flattening every single police car in his path!

Scott Lang has posed:
Scott is back in New York. He's wearing a bulky hoodie and some slightly loose cargo pants. Thanks to some time in Gotham, he's learned it's best to travel with the costume underneath. However, he's still trying to blend something he'd actually wear with that suit. It's still a process, which is why the current look is on his person. Also, the helmet is in a backpack he's cleaning to -tightly-. Once he figures out the suit trick, there will be some work trying to figure out the helmet. Cumbersome yet necessary.

He steps outside to hear "CA-RUNCH!" "CA-RUNCH!" of a frantic Stilt Man running.

"Only in New York." Scott starts to run after the rampaging villain. He'll slip into an alleyway. On goes the helmet. Pulling up the hoodie, he frantically grabs at a disk with a glowing blue center. Readying it, "I hope there's a smoothie shop close by." Breathing out, he'll run toward the street. Turn the disc in the belt and start to grow.

He's hoping they wind up eye to eye. The only issue will be him -avoiding- the cars.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Stilt Man is moving at high speed, moving to flatten anything over in his path! Scott is going to have to be careful and keep up with Stilt Mna, whom is running at high speed! He's got a bag slung over his shoulder that likely has things that he's stolen from whatever it is. Occasionally a policeman will take a potshot over a thim in passing, bullets ricocheting off his armor to no real avail. At least he's not attacking the policeman or trying to stomp on civilians as Scott goes to grow!

Wait. Scott sees something over on the bag. It's a green.. $ symbol!? What the heck? ... Apparently bad guys are into the classics. Huh.

Audra Meridian has posed:
It was days like this that Audra let her two 'lives' mix a bit for the sake of efficiency. Because being over the city on patrol was also a good time to collect a fair amount of data on the effects large urban environments can have on their local weather patterns. Nothing too big.

At least not until a weird long-legged form goes stomping about the streets below. "... That's not normal, even by New York standards." So much for a calm day. She shrugs, and redirects her vectors to swoop down towards the form... and then there's two towering forms by the time she's back down to the normal city levels. She can see now that one is on some kind of stilt contraption, while the other is just a giant person.

And Windrose just pulls up to hover at the same relative eye level as the other two. She can just feel that this is going to probably turn into some sort of brawl. Which gets her to sigh slightly. "I don't suppose there's any chance you boys would be willing to take this to a less congested area..."

Scott Lang has posed:
"Really? A money bag? Does he call it monies? Do I need to double check subway train tracks for damsels in distress?" Scott rolls his eyes. "BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!" his own steps start to goo through as he can catch up. Scott's plan is to grab one of those legs, hold tight and pray Stilt Man trips. If they do not, then at least Scott has temporarily stopped the rampage.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
As Scott goes to charge along, Stilt-Man hahs, "Aren't you s upposed to be in Aunt Man or somtehing?" Whether or not that was a thing, it was possibly something (or not) that Scott could (or not) ever live down. As Audra goes up and hovers, Stilt-Man chortles, "Well, batter Uppppp!" And moves to swing a fist at Windrose!

And then Stilt-Man is charging towards Scott "So, what's teh second way to kill a werewolf?" Okay, that was a quote from a cult classic (or semi classic) 80's horror movie. Now what was it exactly? Was Scott a fan of things of that era?

Stilt Man is charging forwards, leg kicking up to try and strike Ant Man right in a very, very vulnerable location even when he was so tall!

'Kick him in the nards!' If that was something that would have any meaning to Scott at all!

Audra Meridian has posed:
"I didn't think so," Audra laments as she reverse thrusts a bit, avoiding the punch by simply hovering back out of his reach. Giving a little room for the Stilt Man and the Gi-Ant Man to tussle while she considers. Then gets an idea, and zips down towards the street level.

Her first consideration would of been to just make ice under the stilts, but she doesn't want to risk slipping up the other big guy as well. So she opts to take a closer look at the tilts themselves. Are they just long poles, or some kind of mechanized device? Mechanical? Electronic? She weaves back and forth a bit to keep from getting stepped on by the two going back and forth, but her technical curiousity has been perked by this absurd idea of super stilts as much as the interest in stopping his little mad romp through the city.

Scott Lang has posed:
Scott almost rolls his eyes as he hears the quip. Oh, he gets the reference. Raising a leg, he goes to block that kick. "What bad quote are you going to say next, 'Don't put baby n the corner?'" he asks. Looking at Stiltman. After the block, Scott goes for the one thing he has on Stiltman, reach! Taking a swing with a right, he tries to go in for a haymaker. "'Death by Stereo!'" Scott is going to keep this battle going just to point out how absurd that quote was. Sadly, his knowledge of 80s movies only go so far. He's only got a few more quotes before another decade will become necessary.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
As Scott manages to block the attack, Stilt Man goes to whirl over with his leg to try and go like a whirlwind, trying to ping pong Windrose out of the air! "Come on, let's play a game. The name of the game is tag. And you're it!" His stilts seem to have a heavy gyroscopic stabilizer in them. They're incredibly well braced and reinforced. There are heavy clamps on the bottom to keep them stable - just icing them or the ground will do nothing. The haymaker from Scott hits, driving him back several feet!

Audra Meridian has posed:
Audra Meridian tries to sidestep again, but the wild motion as Stilt Man hoists one leg and spins around is enough to catch her still on the arc, making her careeen backwards until she restabilizes herself. Huffs out a breath strong enough to flick the bangs that stick out between her goggles and the rest of her headgear. At least the giant guy managed to knock him back down the street again.

She got what she needed for data though, and clarifying to herself that just tripping him up isn't going to be enough. He thought that far ahead in this rediculous idea at least. She propels herself back into the air. "Didn't anyone ever tell you..." as she rises back up to their level, even a little above, she unleashes a bolt of lightning at Stilt-Man, "don't play games in a thunderstorm!" Unless they're also insulated in some way those mechanical stilts are going to attract lightning's desire to ground itself something fierce, and even if they are the speed of the electrical shot might still be enough to catch him.

Scott Lang has posed:
Rushing toward Stiltman. The plan is to grab him, stop the man from falling. Then hit hm again and try to repeate. Those legs are long, sturdy and everything else. They could cause damage. if the grab is successful, Scott will try to go in for a second shot. "Why did you settle on stilts? Even big robot exosuits are better than stilts. You're the T-Rex of Supervillains minus the dangerous mouth. Big legs, baby arms and without that jawline," Scott pauses. "You're kind of like Babies torso shoved onto grownup's legs. It's sad," he sas honestly of the man.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
The thunderstorm goes to blast along Stilt Man! Next problem discovered - his suit was extremely insulated. She'd have to try and make a weakness over in it to exploit or her attacks wouldn't be that effective. He goes to try and punch over at Windrose, even as she would dart around him to keep up blasting!

Stilt-Man would yelp, "Well, bug-boy, time to show you over to the flattening!" The punch fro mScott is more effective, clobbering him in the chin and sending him fifty feet back!

Audra Meridian has posed:
You almost have to give the guy credit, it's a rediculous idea but his dedication to making it work and actually considering some common weaknesses is as impressive as the concept is goofy.

Okay, maybe it's time to take a less scientific approach to the matter.

At least she still has a maneuverability edge, ducking and darting out of the way as Stilt-Man swings at her. And then the giant dude whallops him again and Stilt Man goes tumbling back again. Audra zooms ahead, zipping past Stilt-Man.. Then reversing direction, and zipping right back towards him again. One hand clenches into a fist, and her gauntlet thrums in a soft yet ominous manner. As she closes in, she throws a punch. It's got some good momentum behind it, but the real trick is as she does she unleashes the air force building up in her gauntlet, resulting in a really windy shockwave! Maybe she can blow him back into the bigger guy's reach, since he's having an easier time of actually roughing the weirdo up.

Scott Lang has posed:
Taking a few steps forward Scott goes forward and tries to go in for a nard kick himself. A smirk pulls at his lips. What's good fr the goose is good for the gander. Scott wonders what kind of defenses Stilt man may have for thise angle.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Stilt Man goes to back away,e ven as Audra goes to smash over in to him with her fist! ORdinarily it might not do a lot of damage, but combined over with Ant Man's punch it goes to have him swinging backwards! NUFLACK!

His hands automatically go down to cover his nuts as the armored cup doesn't do much as he's falling bcakwards to land on the pavement with a FLAM!

Audra Meridian has posed:
There should probably be a shout of 'Timber!' right here but that's not in Audra's usual range of quippery. Instead she just moves to take advantage of the situation. "Hold him down!" While she pulls out a length of heavy gauge cable from her pack and goes to tie his stilts together with it. Maybe that will keep him from getting enough movement to get back up and they can be done with this wacky criminal.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
And as Stilt-Man goes to tumble, Audra goes to move to knot his legs over together! They creak as they overload! The servos aren't brekaing, but they're making him immobile. They're extremely strong and reinforced. The suit is designed to keep him stable even at ridiculously high speed, and to not let him get dizzy and give him full range of motion. It's very, very well done engineering

Audra Meridian has posed:
Once the stilts are tied up Audra walks up towards Stilt-Man himself and crouches down. "Look, as rediculous as I still think the idea is, as a technichian I will give you credit for the amount of effort put into making such a rediculous idea work. Maybe think about a less criminal pursuit you can put that kind of dedication towards." She's making some idle chat while keeping an eye on him until the cops or SHIELD or whoever shows up to arrest this kind of criminal comes to do their job.
