Cast of Characters: Rogue, Samuel Guthrie

Rogue has posed:
On this serene Sunday afternoon, Rogue finds herself in the heart of Xaviers School, nestled within the cozy confines of the kitchen. She's intently crafting a batch of her legendary pecan praline cookies, her gloved hands expertly measuring ingredients and mixing with precision. The scent of warm vanilla and toasted pecans fills the air as she places the cookies on a tray, ready to share the delicious treats with her fellow X-Men after a hard day's training.

Dressed in blue jeans, with a simple black long sleeved shirt on, Rogue has her hair tied back tightly in a bun on the base of her head, and has her phone playing some music over a bluetooth speaker on the kitchen's island countertop.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie comes in from where he has been working outside. He looks a bit dusty but not to bad. Sam has been unloading Pumpkins so they have them for the holidays. He is heading towards the sink to wash his hands when he stops and sniffs the air "Do I smell Pecan cookies.?"

Rogue has posed:
With a warm smile, Rogue looks up from her cookie-making endeavor as Sam enters the kitchen, noticing his hands slightly dusty from his work outside. She nods in affirmation, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she teases, "You sure do, Sam. Fresh outta the oven, just the way you like 'em. Figured y'all deserved a treat after luggin' all them pumpkins around." She gestures to the tray of pecan praline cookies, their golden-brown perfection invitingly displayed. "Help yourself, sugah. Ain't nothin' like a homemade cookie to put a smile on your face."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, and once he has dries his hands, he grabs a small plate to put a few cookies on and grabs a glass for some milk "You want some milk or something else to drink?" He asks while he is getting the glass down.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's smile widens as she watches Sam prepare a plate of cookies and pour a glass of milk. "Milk sounds just perfect," she replies with a nod, her Southern accent carrying a note of gratitude. She momentarily sets aside her cookie-baking duties and moves closer to the kitchen island. "Thanks, Sam. Always nice to have some company in the kitchen." Her gloved hand reaches for a cookie as she looks at Sam.

"So what you been up to lately?" She asks, biting in to the cookie, and leaning against the countertop on her left hip. She glances down at her phone's screen for a moment, swiping past some messages in the X-Men message app, before she looks back up at him again.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie gets them both a glass of nice cold milk. He munches a bite of a cookie before answering "Working, putting in some patrols in Bushwick, and occasionally some of the other boroughs. Ah don't have to put in much time on foot, but figure it lets me get to know some of the other officers, and get an idea on who is good to have around and such." He explains. He bites another bit of cookie and says "These are really good." He notices the swiping of the app, and says "Anything I need to check?" He asks since his own phone is still in his pocket.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue nods appreciatively as she takes the glass of cold milk from Sam, savoring the sweet taste of the homemade cookies. "Glad you like 'em, Sam," she replies with a grin. She leans against the countertop, taking a moment to consider his question about the X-Men messages. "Nah, nothin' urgent right now," she assures him, glancing briefly at her phone again before setting it down. "Just the usual chatter about patrols and some updates on recent mutant activities. Nothing too excitin' at the moment." She takes another bite of her cookie, then adds, "Good to hear you're keepin' busy out there, though. Always important to stay connected with the folks on the ground."

Rogue glances toward the windows in the kitchen that look out on the backyard, noticing some of the school's students playing a game of soccer out on the lawn. She smirks at the sight before she sips some of the milk again, and lowers her cookie down to dip in it. "Any exciting stories from your Cop life?" She asks Sam then.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie hmmms and says "Well, not sure about how exciting, Ah did end up fighting a guy calling himself Big Wheel a couple months back. Ah am still wondering if Ah should come out to the whole force as a mutant right now only a very few know. Main one being my captain, who also works with the Avengers.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's gloved fingers gently dunk the cookie into the milk, savoring the sweetened bite as she listens to Sam's recount of his recent experiences. "Big Wheel, huh? Sounds like a real character," she replies with an amused grin. She leans against the countertop, intrigued by the idea of Sam's secret identity. "Well, ya know, it's a big step to take, revealing your mutant side to everyone. But folks around here know it ain't about the powers; it's about the person behind 'em. You're a good man, Sam. Nothin' changes that, no matter what you can do." Her Southern drawl carries a reassuring tone as she takes another sip of milk.

She glances toward the window again, watching the students outside, a wistful expression crossing her face for a moment as she sees them celebrating a scored goal. "It's a tough decision, for sure. But you got friends here who'll back you up no matter what." Rogue says with another smile.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and looks out the window some and says "Ah probably should talk to Jay and Paige a bit about it. Ah know back home, Ah think it aint really a secret any more with all the stuff that has happened back there. But if Jay is still wanting to keep a lid on it, and telling folks his wings on stage are a prosthetic, then his brother being a traceable mutant might cause him some more issues."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue listens attentively to Sam's considerations, understanding the complexities of revealing one's mutant nature. She takes another bite of her cookie and a moment to sip her milk, contemplating her response. "Yeah, it's a whole different story when you're in the spotlight, especially with family," she remarks empathetically. "Your brother's got his reasons, and family dynamics can be tricky." She looks at Sam, her voice softer. "Talkin' to him and Paige seems like a good idea. They might have some insights or ways to handle it, especially if they've been through similar situations." Rogue offers a supportive nod, as she glances outside now, to see her dog Jeepers has joined in the soccer game with the kids. This causes the Belle to smirk as she sees the dog is causing more trouble than good, generally getting in the way of the game.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie notices her continuing to look on the window, and says "So, what you been up to and been on your mind of late?" He will see what she wants to talk about he has heard at least one thing but lets her guide the talk about her, instead of him guiding it.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue takes a moment to shift her attention back to Sam, her green eyes meeting his as she considers his question. She sets her glass of milk on the countertop and leans against it, a thoughtful expression on her face. "Well," she begins, "been keepin' busy with the usual X-Men stuff, you know, trainin', missions, tryin' to make the world a better place for mutants and all." She offers a small, wistful smile. "But honestly, I've been thinkin' about how life's changin', how folks are acceptin' mutants more these days. It's good, really good, but it also means we're all kinda figurin' out what comes next, y'know?" Rogue's gaze drifts back to the windows in the fancy kitchen. "Beyond that, just been trying to settle inta the new school year. Teachin' Poetry and French language classes this year to the Juniors and Seniors. Keepin' me a bit busier than my first year at the front of the class." She says with a smirk given to him.

Rogue steps aside then, reaching for a stack of tins that she picks one of them up. "Here, I'll give ya a batch of cookies to take with ya. Give them to your Cop buddies, or whatever. Let them know they came from the prettiest Southern Belle in all the land." She says with a big grin. With that, she begins to gathering up a few stacks of the cookies she'd made, slipping them in to the Fall-themed cookie tin.
