Jail Break of the Atomic Parasite
Date of Scene:	20 October 2023
Location:	Uptown - St. Martin's Island
Synopsis:	Superboy and Golden Eagle try to stop the breakout of Parasite and Atomic Skull. Parasite escapes, Atomic Skull is shattered and Golden Eagle is really broken up over it!

It was supposed to be what was really just a local prisoner transfer. A pair of criminals to be moved from the Raft to Belle Reve at the request of someone up on the chain of command for future research and examination.

Two police cars are escorting the large armored vehicle through the streets, lights on as they blow through redlights, a simple escort mission that was supposed to go easily.

That is until the large dump truck with the driver that wasn't paying attention blows past the police car trying to stop the traffic and broadsides the prisoner transport, knocking it over and sending it sliding down the road, where it hits a light post.

For a moment, there is silence, and then, there's a glow from the back of the truck, before it melts and splits open. Stepping out of it, the Atomic Skull storms out of the side of the truck, ripping off the rest of the helmet that contained his powers. "Ah! Sun on my face! It feels NICE!" he yells, as he feels the pang of bullets smacking into him, and he turns, unleashing a nuclear blast at one of the police cars!

Behind him, a second figure comes out, grabbing one of the police officers in the truck and he squeezes, purple light wrapping around the officer as he drains the life from him, and Parasite follows Atomic Skull out of the truck. "Don't kill them, I'm famished!" he declares as he starts to move towards the officers.

One of the officers, before they are overrun by the two villains, manages to send out a distress beacon for local heroes to please come to their aid. Two heavies have broken loose!

Golden Eagle was hanging around the Titans Tower when the beacon went off... and the distance to the source of the beacon, once someone accessed the HQ's computer system to find out, meant that fliers and/or speedsters would be the only ones who could respond in any semblance of a timely manner -- and Eagle was one of only two such Titans available.

When this was made clear, and once she was given an idea of where to go, Golden Eagle immediately took to the air and headed out towards where the villains are making their unplanned escape. Of course, Jon Kent (the other flier/speedster available) is a LOT faster a flier than she is, so unless he offers a ride, he might be getting there far enough ahead of her that he'll be in action alone for a while...

    Jon Kent draws himself up as he hangs out on top of a tall building, with the sun feeling good on his face as well, the wind flapping in his cape, the brilliant scarlet and gold on his uniform catching the light. HIs head is tilted back, his unruly dark hair picked up in the wind as he relaxes, a pair of blue sunglasses pushed up on his forehead. His fingers stretch out, reaching down to the side and pulling up a brown paper bag -- and he withdraws a powdered donut from it.

    And as he looks out over the city, he hears the crash. THe agreement that the sun feels so good on his face and then -- Oh hey, that's a nuclear blast. That can't be good -- and he steps off the top of the artfully deco building and takes off!!

    And knowing the beacon would have gone off at the tower, he dips by, and as Golden Eagle is skyward-bound, he pauses behind her.

    "Hey! Need a hand?" he questions.

    And ig given permission, he's going to wrap his arms around her middle and speed along -- less Princess, more 'On top of the world'!

On the ground below, Parasite and Atomic Skull are finishing off what's left of the cops on the street. As Parasite grabs another officer, draining the life from her, he sighs in relief. "It's just not the same!" he grouses, looking around. "I need something more... substantial."

That's when Atomic Skull notices the incoming heroes. "Parasite, we got company!" he yells towards the other villain, even as Skull is firing off a blast of atomic fire in the sky aimed at the pair!

"No, you fool!" Parasite yells at Skull. "I need to feed! You take the chick, the Boy of Steel is mine!" With that, he's starting to run, and Parasite leaps. He clearly does not have his full power yet, because it has been a long time since he's feasted on a Kryptonian.

And unfortunately, perhaps, Jon has a nice shield there with the whole Golden Eagle extended out in front of him. "Out of the way!" he yells, desperate to get past her and to Jon!

Golden Eagle, knowing at least a little bit about Jon, is aware of how much faster he's able to fly than she is... so she agrees to the offered assistance. The Titans arrive as the last of the cops is being... drained... and Golden Eagle bares her teeth. "You leech!", she cries out as she separates herself from Jon by putting everything she has into flying at Parasite with both fists extended in front of herself, trying to use the momentum built up from Jon's flight speed to her advantage against a villain she *knows* can be a match for even Superman, under the right circumstances. She might be a bit out-classed by this particular villain... but it seems she'd rather risk that, than risk him nomming on Superboy's powerset!

Jon Kent has posed:
    The young Superman takes a deep breath, releasing the Golden Eagle as he gives a brief smile, and then the smile falls as he realizes what's going on.

    Leeched energy, fallen cops, and his eyes narrow a brief moment Parasite takes a roaring screech at him.

    And the young Kryptonian makes sure that he's able to give Golden Eagle some space.

     -- until she goes to take Parasite her self!

    "All right, we'll trade then!" he chipperly replies, and then turns to regard Atomic Skull. He turns and uses his cape to shield himself, and then drops down from the sky

    "I don't suppose we could convince you to get back into the truck?" he asks, "No?"

Damian Wayne has posed:
"No!" Parasite is angry as Golden Eagle slams into him, the fists pressed into his chest and he growls. "You are not the meal that I want!" But with her being so tantalizingly close, he cannot help himself. "But I will take a taste anyway!"

With that, he attempts to grab the golden heroine by the face and get a solid grip with both hands as he glows that bright purple color and starts to drain her energy. "Oh! You taste /tingly/!" he says as he takes in her magical powers as transferred energy. "This is nice. Not Kryptonian nice, but nice! Three stars, would dine again!" Slurp, slurp, slurp.

"You're not Superman, boy. I'm not going anywhere!" Atomic Skull says as Jon lands before him. He is pretty sure that the young Kryptonian can probably tank the fires that come from the flaming skull he has for a head, but he still is going to give it a good try.

Wrench a car door from one of the police cars he dstroyed, he flings it at Jon like a frisbee, and as soon as it's away, he is unleashing nuclear fueled fires upon the Boy of Steel!

"Maybe you can drain power from me, Parasite... but I'm the one who has Eagle's permission to *use* that power, not you!", Golden Eagle says, reaching up to grab at Parasite's wrists to try and force his hands off of her... she's really hoping that the strongest he *can* get is equal to her... and that he didn't start stronger along the way.

Jon Kent has posed:
    "Well, no I'm not Superman!" he states, and Superboy gives a small smile, drawing his hands up a little bit -- and he catches the car door. He turns around, holding the car door before his eyes narrow.

    "Well, I gave you a chance!" he states, and using the car door as a partial shield us charges the Atomic monster, and he goes to use the car door to try and smack the skull-faced badguy into a building -- gently!

As she uses her hands, Golden Eagle is lucky that Parasite isn't as finely tuned to drain magical beings as he is those that are more mortal or long-lived like Kryptonians. She manages to pull his hands off of his face. "I was enjoying that!" he growls.

And then he slams his forehead down into Golden Eagle's face. Apparently he was able to syphon /some/ power from the young woman before he manages to actually collide with her pretty hard as he tries to break her grip.

Because really, he wants a piece of that Superboy energy. He's fine-tuned for Kryptonian feasts!

Superboy will notice the door is already melting in his hands as Skull burns it. However, there is more than enough of the door left to send Skull flying backwards. He slams into the building cracking and crumbling around him as he pushes himself back to his feet. "You know what, you aren't the only ones that can switch!" he yells, and he turns his head, a massive atomic burst fired at Eagle, as Parasite rips away and starts to dive towards Superboy!

"Dinner time!" he yells with almost manical glee. Hungry, so hungry! The girl did not sate him, the boy! The boy wears the colors. The boy will be his feast! If only he gets his hands upon him.

Golden Eagle does get pushed away by the head-butt, though it didn't seem to do her much in the way of harm. She darts back and away, managing to narrowly avoid the atomic blast... and, as she nears it, grabs the nearest (sadly abandoned) police car. Spinning as she hefts up the vehicle with both hands, she hurls it at Parasite, trying to lead him along his path towards Superboy. She's trying to knock the villain as far away from the kryptonian as she can!

    Fine tuned Kryptonian, corn-fed Beefcake with a heart of gold. Ma Kent would be proud.

    The young hero's incidental shield melts in place, but it's quite all right, SKull is sent flying, and as he pushes himself to his feet, the young hero dramatically draws to the side, and as Parasite is come at him again, he turns, and grabs a sewer grate -- and launches the sewer grate at Parasite from the other side, giving an opportunity for Atomic Skull to take him out!

Slam! The car slams into Parasite, the weight of it slamming into the road and sliding as they collide into a light pole. Momentarily pinned, the purple villain starts tearing at the metal of the car, trying to wrench himself free from it and get back into the fight.

But he has several moments before he can break himself totally free as metal and cloth screeches with the claws he grows out of his hands. The screech is loud, as his cries of how hungry he is. He's totally ignoring those donuts that Superboy had brought with him. The bag's right there on the ground, a few feet from where he was hit by the car.

And just as he's about to get free -- CLANG -- a sewer grate slams Parasite in the face, caving it in, and sending him splaying back into the car. That might have actually been felt from the higher powered Krypotonian.

But it gives Atomic Skull the change to rush in, pushing all of his power into his right hand as he jumps into the air and comes in to slam it down.

And slam it down, he does, sending a nuclonic powered punch directly into the cheek and jaw of that 100% USDA cornfed beef cake as he looks to put a nice sear on it! "Got you now, Superboy!" Hey, actually used his name!

Golden Eagle flies over to the next abandoned car and grabs it by its front end, and hefts it up over her head. She's aiming to take advantage of how Superboy set her up with an easy target by catching Parasite with such a grate surprise attack...

Then Atomic Skull's taking advantage of the situation, and she sees a Golden opportunity of her own. Flying over, she swings the car like a big golf-club, trying to spoil the villain's attack with the vehicle swat.

    The COnfed gives a slight grin as he catches the blast.

    "OW OW OW OW OW OW OW OW OW --" he protests tumbling backwards as he gets struck with the blast, rolling along the street, and then he gives a breath out, takes a deepber breath, and then tries to freeze Atomic Skull in place, his cheeks puffing out slightly, eyes closing as he tries freeze the skull-faced nuclear hazard in place!

It's a good thing that Parasite is down for the count when Golden Eagle lifted the car. He falls to the ground, slumped into a pile of purple people eater. Not that he only eats purple people. He's an equal opprotunity people eater.

"Ha! Felt that, didn't you!" Atomic Skull gloats, realizing that he may actually have a chance at a vuctory here! That is until... you remember those commercials a few years back? With the gum that made everything freeze when you take a breath? Jon is having a similar effect. Even the nuclear-driven fires of the Atomic Skull stand little chance against the Superboy's minty breath as they flicker and fight against the torrent of cold.

It is not too long before he is totally frozen in place in a sheet of blue ice with thick spikes at the apex of it. Had he time, the fires burning within Atomic Skull would reignite and roar to life and free him from this icy prison...

...or would, if Golden Eagle didn't suddenly broadside Jon's ice sculpture with the remains of the police car. There's cracking, breaking, and then the whole thing /shatters/, sending pieces of Atomic Skull flying all over the place.

He'll /eventually/ reform from the atomic level... but do either of them know that?

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
Golden Eagle's swat is in full swing when she sees the villain being frozen solid -- even if she wanted to, that much interia/momentum is too much for her to be able to stop. She does try, but ends up just pulling the car's front bumper and radiator free of the car a moment before it sends frozen atomic shards flying. Eyes wide, she simply floats in place and lets the nose of what was once a car fall to the street below her, freeing her hands to cover her mouth, which is now hanging open. "Ohmygod...!", she mumbles behind her hands. It's quietly said, but clear as a bell to someone with super hearing, of course, and she sounds *terrified* as she eyes the spot where Atomic Skull was once standing.

Jon Kent has posed:
    "... it's fine! Trust me!" Superboy bleats, "He'll reform!"

    Otherwise Jon wouldn't have tried to take him out.

    He's down for now, now there's just the PAracite to contend with -- but he's not kept track of where Parasite has went. He breathes out, looking all around through the lenses of his blue sunglasses.

    "Where's the other guy?"

Remember that sewer that Jon opened to throw at Parasite?

Guess who disappeared down it.

Freedom now. Feast later.

The sounds in the background of more police and medical units - as well as units from Belle Reve are starting to make their way to the scene, the superhuman response units especially.

May be time to go? Unless you like sitting in an office for hours answering questions! Hey, may be a thing some people enjoy!

Golden Eagle looks over at Superboy. "You're -sure- he's not dead?!", she says, reaching out to grab at Jon's shirt. "... I... I broke him all into little ice cubes!", she says, her voice loud and high-pitched as she looks back at the mess of ... ice cubes. She doesn't fight it, at all, if she's pulled away from the scene. Even though she's been told that Atomic Skull will be okay, she doens't really -know- that.

Jon Kent has posed:
    "Positive. He makes another appearance, I'm sure!" Jon replies with an easy smile, and then he's grabbed. He gives a soft 'aaa!' sound, his eyes going wide as he flails his arms a moment, and then looks to Golden eagle.

    "Hey, hey, you're going to be okay. I promise." he states, awkwardly putting his arms around her. "You're going to be okay. Atomic Skull reforms at the molecular level. That's what he does, okay?"

Golden Eagle looks in the direction of the approaching sirens, then back at the shattered remains of Atomic Skull. "...let's get outta here?", she asks, quietly... all while still holding onto the front of Superboy's shirt, as if she's forgotten she did that.

Jon Kent has posed:
    Jon gives a nod. And keeping an arm around Golden Eagle, he opts to get *her* out of there. "Hold on." he states gently, and then shoots up into the sky, launching into the blue.

    "They'll make sure that he gets contained and reforms in a nice, safe cell."
