Cast of Characters: Rien D'Arqueness, Thomas Blake

Rien D'Arqueness has posed:
After a rousing celebration in a very, VERY nice room at the highly exclusive Omni Hotel, Rien is slowly coming to wakefulness as the sun starts to warm her back. She rouses slowly, stretching, a smile curving her lips as she lands a hand on a very male chest. Shifting in closer, she leans in over him, "Well now.. this is a wonderful way to wake up."

She slides across him, pressed against Thomas for a brief moment before slipping out of the bed on the other side to stroll for the bathroom at a slow pace. Luxuriating in another stretch along the way, calling back over her shoulder, "I don't know about you, cher, but I could definitely stand to eat. Eggs, bacon, pastries, fruit..." Rien slips into the bathroom to freshen up and allow Thomas to wake up on his own.

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake instantly comes awake. It is a trait that saved him more than once. He also always made certain his clothes and weapons were where he could find them in the dark. He rolls out of bed and heads to the kitchen, not bothering to get dressed. Feeding your hungry partner comes first.

He pads into the kitchen, the room phone in his hand and orders eggs, bacon and pastries, as well as coffee and tea. The knock at the door occurs much sooner than he'd expect, a couple minutes. You get your money's worth with those gold coins! He begins cooking, ignoring the splashes of bacon. The scars, on his chest and many finer ones elsewhere testify to his pain threshold.

After a minute he says fuck that and grabs his shirt. Bacon grease hurts!

Rien D'Arqueness has posed:
Stepping out of the bathroom, rubbing at her hair with a towel, Rien follows her nose into the kitchen to smile at Thomas wearing a shirt and nothing else while cooking bacon. Chuckling softly, she sidles up next to him and presses a kiss to his cheek as she reaches for the spatula, "Will you start on the eggs, cher? I can finish the bacon.."

The tiny splatters of becon grease don't even register on Rien's scale of pain.. benefit of being a Howlett by blood. Their regeneration means they regularly take astounding amounts of damage, shrugging off ridiculous levels of pain. So she can save him the pain without any suffering herself. Also, the eggs will finish with the bacon now!

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake gives Rien a kiss on the forehead. "He gets to work on the eggs which soon smell mouth watering to Rien's nose. "I worked in food services in Belle Reve. Peopl got knifed for stealing my breakfasts. Then they put my in charge of breakfast. Violence stopped. I worked with a number of crews -consisting of psychos and sociopaths and, it was amazing to see them sitting down and eating like ordinary people. I liked doing that for them."

He dishes out the omelets and holds the plates waiting for the bacon. A dish with pastries and a coffee pot and tea pot sit on the table. While he waits, he plants a kiss on Rien's cheek. "Clean flesh beats perfume every time." She is indeed squeaky clean.

Rien D'Arqueness has posed:
"Mmmmmmmmmm, good to know... so I should make sure to have you over in the morning as often as possible," Rien glances at him sidelong and quirks a smile towards him. She lets her nose tell her when to flip the bacon, making sure that it's perfectly crisp and chewy. "This is why I deal in demons and drug cartels and dictators. People and creatures that can't be rehabilitated."

Setting the bacon on the dish for him, she smiles at the kiss and chuckles, "With my nose, I can't stand perfumes. All but the most expensive of them are all chemically created, no actual real scents in any part of it... all fake. I refuse to smell like a chemical processing plant."

Half-turning, she goes to her toes and rests a hand at his hip, pressing a kiss to his lips before winking and slipping past him towards the table. "You smell pretty delicious yourself."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake carries the loaded plates to the table. He puts them both in front of a seat, takes it and pats his thigh invitingly to her. He also shrugs out of the shirt. His fingers absently trace the three old and badly healed slash marks on his chest. He was always wearing an emblem.

"Before I knew what I was doing, I ran some chemicals for an outfit in New York. I took their chemist out for a dinner. She was this beautiful redhead cooking God knows whar. About 90 pounds ringing wet. She was the boss' niece and a virtual prisoner. I took her for a steak dinner."

"I'm not a hero. A hero would have taken the whole operation apart. I am also not a rat. These days... not sure what I am. I'm sometimes on the side of the angels. I won't be exploited. I won't be insulted. I won't have my friends messed with." Then he grabs her around her waist and plops her on his leg.

Rien D'Arqueness has posed:
Rien chuckles and moves over to slide onto Thomas' lap when the invitation is made, leaning in against his chest and reaching up to stroke those slash marks. "I can't scar... it's always a bit of a thrill to see them on others. It's unique... special..." Glancing up at him with a smile, she leans forward to start piling food onto the plates so they can eat. She also makes herself a cup of tea to enjoy.

"Sounds like you gave her a little excitement and interest that she could hold onto. That's admirable," she turns that smile towards him before picking up a piece of bacon to bite into.

"I don't consider myself a hero. I don't really think of myself as anything. I just... I was *made* to fight and exorcise demons. That was the entire purpose for my birth. Here, in this world, it's what I choose." Rien lifts a small shrug and glances at him, "My methods are not always pleasant, there are sometimes more casualties than just the demon... but you can't always save everyone, and I've learned to live with that. I strive to do better, but I won't torture myself over things I can't change and couldn't prevent."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake runs a hand through Rien's hair. "I was in love with a demon... half demon really. She... started out doing some good. There was a sorcerer named... Kulan Gath she was getting ready to fight. I was going to help. Then she died and returned and she was different. She was sweet to me before. Now she was patronizing, then she saw me as comic relief. So I left. Not crazy about demons anymore. They'll get delusions of grandeur and turn on you."

"If you don't stop playing with my chest, you will only have yourself to blame for an interrupted breakfast gone cold. Then again we have a microwave..." He grabs her hand and kisses it, nipping her index finger.

Rien D'Arqueness has posed:
"I've never been in love. Then again, I've only really been in two relationships. First one fizzled. Second one... well, we never really defined it, and we acknowledge that there might be times when we can't be together for.. potentially centuries. So we never really called it anything and just agreed to be together when we could." Rien leans back against Thomas and smiles up at him, "Which is nice, because we don't hold each other to anything particular."

Leaning up, she nips his chin lightly and chuckles softly, "And I could be persuaded to enjoy a reheated meal if there's incentive for something else more... enjoyable..."

Thomas Blake has posed:
The nip does it. Tom's hand is tangled in her hair, almost grabbing it, His forearm supports her neck and back as he rises with an arm under her legs. Carrying her like her weight is inconsequential he walks with her away from the table.

Then he lets out a small villain laugh, maniacal chuckle if you will...
