After math, coffee.
Date of Scene: 31 October 2023
Location: Hot Joe Coffee
Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Jacen Knight, Saeko

Jacen Knight has posed:
Jacen is leaning against the main counter, waiting to make his order. The cowboy hat might make him stand out a little. The whole look stands out, especially with him having a medical bag next to his leg.

The bag is heavily made, dark blue, and with the blue cross and snake symbol. A small tag warns it is flammable. His left hand holds the long strap of the bag so he isn't completely disconnected from the touch of it, clearly mindful of someone trying to steal it.

Saeko has posed:
It was hardly a shrine or even the divine realm of the Amatsu-Kami, but Saeko had a fondness for the creations of mortals that very much extended into one of her favourites: food.

Of course, the woman who makes the arrival might look astoundingly beautiful...but she's noteably human, no tails or fox ears. Slipping into the space and dressed in a deep sweater dress and black leggings, Saeko made her way towards the counter and the promise of a treat.

Jacen Knight has posed:
Jacen looks at the new arrival, touching the brim of his hat with his right index finger and thumb. It's a southern thing and not everybody gets it. He turns to make his order, the bigges coffee possible and something raspberry in flavor from the patries.

He moves the bag to the other side of him, making it easier for her to reach the counter and softly he mutters,"Ma'am." There is a hint of a twang to his voice.

Saeko has posed:
A step up to the counter, Saeko's hands come to rest on the surface while she inhaled deeply. Perhaps she was hungry or had a heck of a sweet tooth.

Oh, she was being spoken to!

Blinking and turning her head Saeko smiles, nodding lightly. "Sir," she offers lightly, a greeting returned before her gaze drops to the counter. "What would you recommend?"

Jacen Knight has posed:
He looks back and over his shoulder. Eyes back at her he looks a little confused, but then smiles a little bit,"Sorry 'bout that. Ain' too many folks calls me sir." He is teasing a little.

He looks back at the counter and tells her,"There's a raspberry'n cream cheese doughnut thing. They're pertty good. My favorite here anyway. Think they call't a flip or somethin' like that. Coffee's pertty good. Better'n most 'round these parts."

Saeko has posed:
"Have I got the word wrong?" Saeko muses softly, her own tones lightly accented enough to make it clear she wasn't a native. "Forgive me, it is easy to lose track. Is it not the male equivlent to 'ma'am?'"

With the recommendation made she leaned in, fixing her gaze on the server. "One of each of those, please?" she requests lightly.

Jacen Knight has posed:
"Nah. Sir's right. Jus' not a lotta folks call me that. I'm Jacen. You c'n call me that'f ya like." he confides,"Nothin' ta forgive."

He takes his order when it comes to him and he thanks the server softly,"Last person what called me sir w's th' officer that pulled me over f'r drivin' too fast."

Saeko has posed:
"Saeko," she offers, introduction returned before her coffee is brought to her and she takes a sip only to make a face. Clearly it was -far- too bitter for her, probably not a habbitual coffee drinker this one.

Still, the mug is set down with thanks and she instead reaches for the salvation of the pastry.

"Well, safety is important," she begins before her gaze drops lower to the bag, seeming to analyse the detail. "Even to those in your own field. You cannot help if you yourself are injured, no?"

Jacen Knight has posed:
He reaches over and slides a small bottle from the counter to her. French Vanilla creamer. He nods to the sugar packets on her right hand side,"Hittin' it black's kinda acquired taste. Sweeten it up a little bit."

"Yeah. Safety's key." he agrees,"Jus' bein' irresponsible that day b'cause I w's tryin' ta get back ta my ranch. New foal w's on th' way'n I wanted ta be there ta make sure it come safe'n sound."

He takes a drink of his coffee and then adds,"Gotta be careful'n field f'r sure. Gotta stand back 'ntil th' scene is safe. That's hard ta do sometimes, but ya gotta do it. Cain' help a patient'f you're a patient too."
