Synopsis: Sara and Joshua go out for Chinese as a first date. A rude couple ruins their dining, so they retreat to her house to finish their meal and talk.
Cast of Characters: Sara Pezzini, Joshua Foley

Sara Pezzini has posed:
The taxi ride to Brooklyn saw Sara holding Joshua's hand in the back of the car, and pointing out a few places here and there where she has either arrested someone, or was a childhood hangout. Oddly, there were more of the first than the second.

When they pulled up to the house, she informs him that the ride is already paid for, with tip, and out of habit lets herself out of the car. Most the houses here look the same, but the one they stopped at has an extra wide and long driveway toward the back of the house where a two car garage sits.

"Welcome to my house," she states, gesturing toward it. "It's way too big." It is in fact two stories, and a touch larger than the house on the right, but the one on the left is even larger that this one. "My mother loved this place when he bought it for her, and you will find that he didn't change a thing after she died... and then I didn't change a thin... anyway, come on in."

Joshua Foley has posed:
His hand rarely left hers, and in return for the information she shared with him, he pointed out a few places he had ended up during the two years that he was homeless after he had died and came back and before Nettie found him.

He looks up at the house, and Joshua is surprised. Honestly, it's way bigger than the house that he grew up in. His hand only leaves hers when they get out of the car. And when she explains it to him, he nods. "Wow. This place is beautiful." he admits.

His hand seeks her out again, to lace their fingers back together for a moment. "Sure you want to invite me in? It may be like a vampire, you invite me in and you'll find that I want to stick around for as long as you want me." he teases her, but releases her hand so she can open the door, and he demures slightly. As beautiful as she is, he holds any expectations he may have for the night except for food and conversation.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Pulling the key from the pocket of her coat, Sara pauses before opening the door to say, "I've been bitten by a vampire before, and the basement is pretty dark, you'll be right at home."

Unlocking and opening the door, she steps inside and waits for him to follow before closing and locking it. She's a cop, she knows to lock her door. "As for staying as long as you want, that's always an option... so long as you promise to remember to put the toilet seat down."

Hanging her coat on the rack by the door, she removes the heels then stoops to pick them up and set them on a small stool by coat rack. "Make yourself at home. Kitchen is through there," she points, though its not really needed, he can see the dining room and kitchen past it. "Bathroom is down the hall by the den, which is really just a sitting room with television and Playstation."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"If I was to suck on your neck, it wouldn't be to draw blood." Joshua responds breezily as he steps through the door, his free hand lightly brushing across her mid-section as he steps by her.

"I've been at the Belle long enough that I'm almost just sitting to pee these days." he admits with a laugh as he carries the food into the kitchen, he eyes taking in the house and it's decor. She can tell easily that he's impressed. And maybe a little overwhelmed as he sets the to-go containers on the table.

As she tells him the layout of the house, he perks at the mention of a Playstation. "Here I thought you'd be a Nintendo girl." he teases. "What games do you like?" he asks. "And movies. I mean, if you want to settle on the couch together sometime and watch a movie? Or play a game? I have a Switch at the Belle. Mostly with Mario Kart and Party."

Damn, he sounds young compared to her. And he is.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Following him into the kitchen, Sara flips the switch on the coffee maker then turns the burner on beneath the teapot on the stove. While talking, she takes down two cups, gets out the container of teas, sets the sugar and a couple of spoons out, generally getting things ready for either coffee or tea, or both.

"Maybe I like blood drawn," she comments over her shoulder with a grin, then chuckles softly over his comment about sitting.

"I do not at all consider that lazy like some women do, I find it considerate that you sit... especially with Nettie, cause a curse on your penis may not be beneath her." Grabbing a couple plates, silver ware, cloth napkins and finally a pair of her own chopsticks, she carries it all to the table.

"I like adventure games where you wander around finding things, raising the levels of your group that kill bunnies to start with then work up to the three headed monsters," she explains in far too much detail. "I also like Mortal Kombat, games that I get to murder things without guilt, and of course GtA."

Going back into the kitchen, the hot water is moved into a new pot and added to the tray with the cups, sugar, cream, etc. and then the coffee goes into a carafe. Carrying the tray to the table she offers him a grin as she sets it down. "What kind of movies to you like? Because I'm all for sitting on a couch with popcorn and cuddling, but I refuse to do it to watch a chick flick."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"It would be a damn dirty shame if my penis was ruined before you see it." Joshua comments a bit dryly and then there's a faint coloring as he tries to keep up with what has become some serious flirting.

"Maybe I just like sucking." he responds to her with a toothy smile - no super sharp canines here!

As she explains what games she likes, he nods. "I'm mostly a shooter on Playstation. Zombies, Call of Duty, Resident Evil, GTA, Red Dead Redemption." he explains. "But I like to goof off with the Mario games and it makes it pretty fun to play with others to see who gets competitive. Or you know, play strip Kart, where you lose an article of clothing with each race you lose."

He finishes unpacking the food and setting up moving food from styrofoam containers to the plates she set out. "So that should give you an idea of movies I like. Romance is not high on the list. Action Adventure, suspense, a good cling to what you can horror. I'm all for a ban on Rom-Coms and chick flicks."

"Anyway. We keep talking about what happens on the third date. What's the second?" he asks her. "Kissing and heavy petting?"

Sara Pezzini has posed:
With everything needed now on the table, Sara settles herself into a chair and crosses right leg over the left. "If Nettie ruins your penis before I get to see it, I will have to have words with that old crone," she instantly retorts, smooth and calm as if it just the sort of thing you say in casual conversation. "As for sucking, that's my job."

She pours coffee into one cup, then turns the container of tea choices around so he can see what she has to offer... in teas. "I've always wanted to try Mario Kart, I won't lie. I like driving, so I figure it carries over, but I've never had enough people interested to try it."

Letting her eyes follow his movements, but avoiding directly looking at his face in case he wants to be embarrassed, she takes time to add a dash of sugar to her coffee and a splash of cream.

"Second date always involves a little making out, which could lead to heavy petting, but I would strongly suggest we not try that on skateboards," she replies to his final question. "Last thing we need is to bust your balls because you were trying to feel me up."

Joshua Foley has posed:
This time, he's not embarassed. Perhaps Sara has finally gotten Joshua over his shiness and far more interested in what she could do. "I wouldn't complain about you sucking." he replies. But when she offers him a drink, he decides to accept the coffee.

It's a simple gesture. He wants to understand what she likes - and is willing to try her taste in things, so he takes a sip of the coffee, black. And he's had it before, back when it was all he could afford. "I like this blend." he offers to her. "Is that a note of nuttiness?"

But there's a momentary look of confusion as Joshua pokes at his noodles and then takes a bite. "So the skateboarding is back to being the second date?" he asks her curiously, just a minor hint of disappointment in his voice, a shake of his head. She's giving him the chance, he doesn't want to blow it.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Making certain the cream and sugar are where he can reach them, Sara picks up one of her spring rolls and uses it to point at the coffee. "That coffee is a Kenyan blend called Kahawa 1893, some of the best African beans out there," she explains. "And no, I don't know coffee just because I'm a cop, I know coffee because I like it. I suggest just a dash of cream, no not half and half, actual cream... helps bring out the natural sweetness."

Finally taking a bite of the spring roll, she lays it back on the plate and uses a napkin to wipe her fingers while she chews. "I was just playing into the joke, the second date is whatever we decide it is. I just know at some point we will go skateboarding."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"Oh. That makes sense," Joshua comments with a chuckle. "And we will. After we get you a skateboard. That doesn't count as a date." Or does it? He takes another bite of his food and he draws in a breath.

Releasing it, he sets his fork down to take another sip of his coffee. His cheeks are hot and he feels a little shudder in his body. His own biokenesis is revved up and he chuffs a laugh. "I have never wanted anything as much as this." he admits to her. "So I'm trying my best to behave and be patient, but I really want to come over there and kiss you and just... see if there's a fire there."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Taking a sip of her coffee, Sara's head cants slightly and one brow lifts very slightly. The skateboard purchase and second date are set aside for the moment as she pushes her chair away from the table and stands up.

"You don't have to behave Josh, you have to be yourself," she states as she steps around the table to his chair. "So, if you want to kiss me... kiss me."

Joshua Foley has posed:
She certainetly knows how to hold his attention. Joshua's eyes never leave Sara as she rises up from her seat and makes his way around to the other side of the table where he's seated.

It takes every ounce of his willpower to just not pounce her, instead, he pushes to his feet. And his hand reaches up, settling against her cheek, feeling the warm softness of it - and indirectly getting the feel of her medical condition. Does she have a racing heart as he does, or is she just cool to the thought?

That is really going to decide his next move, even as his other hand comes to settle on her hip, fingers pressed into her dress to nudge her closer.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara's heart wasn't racing, it was beating fast than average, but it most certainly was not calm... that was all exterior acting to maintain a certain image. At his touch to her cheek he can feel her breath catch in her chest, and the pace of her heart quickens a little more.

Her hazel eyes watch his movements until he is facing her and then they lock onto his eyes. When his hands moves to rest on her hip, she takes a small step closer in response to the nudge, even as she slides one of her hands up his arm to his shoulder.

Joshua Foley has posed:
That was the only go ahead he needed. Grey eyes settled on her green, Joshua leans in closer to her. He catches his breath as his hand moves from her cheek to her shoulder and his lips press to hers. Lightly at first, to just realize that jolt of emotions that he feels. He's actually kissing a girl that is just... so perfect. Everything he could ever ask for.

He holds her there for a moment before he parts his lips slightly against hers and he daringly flicks out his tongue to tease her lips before it withdraws back into his mouth as he prepares to move back, unless stopped.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
There is a lot to be said about a first kiss, including the idea that everything one needs to know about a pending relationship can be foretold in the sensation and emotions involved. In the past, Sara never really bought into the whole thing, never really thought about it, but the manner in which Joshua approached this kiss... it set her senses on fire.

As he steps in to kiss her, the hand on his shoulder slides across his back to press herself a little more into him, and into the light kiss. For the briefest of moments her tongue slips past her lips to tap his before retreating back to its place within.

She holds a kiss just a little longer, keeping him from stepping back for just a moment more, then she slides her hand back to his shoulder and also steps back.

Joshua Foley has posed:
She starts to step back, and his hands tighten - for a moment. Joshua wants to pull her back in. The tap of her tongue on his actually caused him to gasp in a soft moan against her mouth, perhaps belieing his inexperience in these things.

The feel of her body against his makes him feel even more sparks. There's no denying that he has grown affection for her so quickly, it's lightning in the bottle.

Before she can retreat, he chases after her, emboldened perhaps by her tease and kisses her more firmly, boldly, his fingers tightening down as his hand slides off her shoulder to her upper arm and squeezes before he is finally breaking away, not wanting to overstay.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
The extension is welcome, Sara's breath catching in her chest as the kiss grows firmer, if only for a brief time. The tips of her finders press into his shoulder in that instantly before her other hand slides up his arm to his other shoulder.

One small step is all she takes back and almost instantly she is looking at his eyes, waiting for her brain to catch up to the moment and stop lingering in the kiss.

"Bonfire," she manages to breath, before there is a slight rose to her cheeks and a coy smile touches her lips.

Joshua Foley has posed:
"Raging inferno." Joshua admits, leaning in and presses his forehead to hers. His grey eyes are searching all over her green eyes and he swallows.

"That was nice. I mean... amazingly nice." He doesn't want to stop, but he's abiding by her rules. "How long do we have to wait for a third date?" he asks her teasingly.

Surprisingly, perhaps, he has not tried to pull away or retreat and at this close range, she can see that the gold of his skin is like a metallic liquid instead of skin cells. It shimmers and moves a little in a flow, but stays with him at all times.

"I'm going to need a cold shower after this." A pause. "Unless you have other ideas."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Keeping her hands on his shoulders, Sara watches his eyes dancing and her smile broadens. Closing her eyes a moment, she savors the closeness as she traces her fingers over his shoulders, then caresses his neck.

After a moment she opens her eyes, but leaves her forehead against his. "I know you don't want to hear this," she breaths softly, licking her lips before she lifts her head up. "I've jumped into bed too early in the past and it seems to ruin everything. Do I want to take you upstairs and see if I can make your entire body glow like the sun? Yes, yes I do... but I think it wiser that we wait."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"Then we wait." It's that simple. She is setting the pace, he is willing to follow her. However, before he steps back from her, he does fufill one thing he had threatened to do. Drawn by the tease on his neck, Joshua lowers his head and gives the side of her neck a kiss, open mouth, a soft little pass of his teeth over her skin and a taking in of her scent before he pulls away.

"I hope I'll end up being worth the wait." he confesses to her gently. "I already know you are." And with that, he's stepping away to regain his senses.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
The jolt of lightning from the bite is not only felt through Sara's body, but Joshua gets to enjoy surprised twitch of her entire body and another catch of breath in her chest.

Anything he said after that required her a few moments to actually hear, in fact he has already stepped back before she managed to shake it off. "It's not a competition or comparison sort of thing," she whispered, then sucked in a breath to take a step back herself. "Every lover is different, so I'm sure you'll be worth the wait... as for me, you don't know. I could be really bad in bed."

Joshua Foley has posed:
Joshua laughs as he heads towards the kitchen with his plate. He pauses and looks at her. And he bites his lip. He waits a moment as he scrapes off his plate to rinse off and put into the dishwasher.

"You could be." he admits to her. "But, if you want me to be honest -- I wouldn't know." This could be a dealbreaker, it could not be. But perhaps it explains his anxious eagerness. "But as I said before... I want the relationship more than anything else, Pez."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Collecting her plate, Sara follows him into the kitchen to scrap off the remaining food, then merely sets it in the sink. There are no other dishes in there, so clearly she doesn't leave them sitting around for long, she's just distracted right now.

Turning toward him and leaning her hip against the counter he can see one brow is raised over what he said. She seems to be studying his face, and that is mostly because she is listening to Witchblade laughing and taunting her in her head, but also because she wants to pick the right words.

"So you've never been in a relationship before?" She asks first, chewing a little at her bottom lip and wishing she could flush Witchblade down a toilet. "Or are you saying that you've never been with a woman before?"

Joshua Foley has posed:
"I've never had sex before. Yes, I've had a relationship before." Joshua chuckles a little at that as he comes over to the sink to take her dish, clean it off, and put in with the rest of the wash. It's something he's picked up from the Belle, he's always tidying up.

Witchblade's laughter is totally, utterly deserved, really. "Since I was a teen - since this happened..." he holds up his arm, "...I've had some short lived relationships, but nothing that took hold. Between the Reavers, the rebirth, the homelessness..." he reaches up and palms at his face. "I shouldn't have said anything. Fuck."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Laying her hand on his shoulder, Sara uses the other hand to brush against the back of his hand over his face, "Hey, none of that.... you shouldn't do that to yourself, and you most certainly should have said something if you felt it needed to be said."

Leaning close she kisses a spot on his cheek that his fingers aren't covering, "I don't get why men think it's such a horrible thing, I mean there's always a first right? There are so many ways we could look at this, so stop trying to hide yourself behind your hands because Josh, you glow... you can't hide."

Joshua Foley has posed:
She chases away his hand, and hey, at least Joshua is not crying. But that glow is there. She's right, he can't hide anymore. "I don't want to hide with you, Sara. I wanted you to know everything you're getting with me." he sighs.

"Oversharing? I am. But I want you to want me for everything that comes with it. You told me your faults with past relationships, it's only fair to tell you that I haven't had sex yet."

"But, Pez, I have read more than enough anatomy books to know how it all works." A half-smile offered to her as he looks up at the cieling. "Tell me when I stop blushing."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
"You are worrying /waaaay/ too much about this," Sara comments with a chuckle, giving him a moment to be embarrassed and stare at the spotless ceiling. While he does that she walks back to the table to sit down and sip her coffee. The distance isn't that far, so once she's had a sip or two, she looks his way.

"There are three aspects to a relationship that are a requirement for survival. One is communication, so there is no such thing as over sharing. Two is trust, and the third is loyalty." Another sip then she rests the cup on the table. "There are still things about my past relationships I haven't shared, that you may want to know, or not, nothing sexual... but that's not important in this moment. What matters right now is this... you can stop being embarrassed."

Joshua Foley has posed:
Deep breaths. Everything she is saying is correct, after all. Joshua looks back towards her and finishes tidying up before coming back to join her over at the table. "We seem to have one down pretty solidly. Trust and loyalty are freely given. I will not let you down." he promises her. "Afraid to say, you may already have my heart."

"And you can tell me when you're ready. There's no rush." His fingers touch the cup and he glances up to her when she makes that last statement. "I don't know..." he muses. "...I mean, it's one thing to see a nude in a medical text. It's another when it's the woman you could see a future with."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Picking the cup back up, her eyes settle on him and there is a bit of concern flickering in them. He was young, naive, and inexperienced, and now he was saying that she might already have claimed his heart? There were a few red flags there that worried Sara, enough that she after she took another sip of her coffee she leans forward a little and levels her gaze on him.

"Do I have your heart, or your attention?" She asks bluntly, perhaps sounding too much like a detective. "Do you believe in love at first sight? Soulmates? The 'meant to be'? There is /a lot/ of things that can happen between first kiss and the future, and I'm not saying those things will be bad... I just..." she lets her breath out slowly with a slight shake her head.

"I don't believe love just happens, love has to be worked and earned," she finally says. "Just like friendship, and perhaps that's just me. Maybe I'm just emotionally damaged enough that I require those things and others don't."

Joshua Foley has posed:
Joshua considers that question and answers honestly. "Am I in love with you? No. But you have my total attention. I guess I should have worded that better." he admits, perhaps showing his newness, but is figuring it out himself. "Nothing is truly fate or meant to be. It's cute to think that, but I've been so jaded by the last few years of my life that..." he shrugs.

"It's going to take work. On both of our parts. Maybe I'm seeing a flame and just holding on too hard. As you said. I need to relax and just let things happen." With that, he finishes off the rest of his coffee.

Standing up, he goes to wash out his cup and pauses at the sink. He should quit before he falls further behind. And that's what he decides on, washing out the mug and setting it in the sink. "I've had a lot of fun this evening." he fights that urge to just flee.

"My faith is shaken, to say the least. Not with you, but with myself. I'm learning who I am. I finally have the chance to take a breath and do that without worrying about a killer cyborg capturing me and ripping me apart to see how I put myself back together again."

"I really like this. And you. And I will not push." A smile offered to her.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Joshua's body language reveals to Sara that he is one against struggling with himself, with the situation, or perhaps his words, but it's all there to be read. "I have your attention," she repeats before standing up. "Good, because that's what I want... your attention. You have mine, in fact you have my undivided attention Joshua, and I want to be there to help you in any way that I can."

Leaving the tray of coffee and tea on the table, along with her coffee cup, she walks into the kitchen and takes his hand. "All that said, if there is a moment that you need to take a step back, to take a deep breath, to think something through, just tell me. It doesn't mean it's the end of anything, it merely means that you need you time, and that's perfectly acceptable."

Eyeing the sink she smiles before looking back to him, "Would you like to see the second largest bedroom in the house, and then lay claim to it?" She then asks with a half grin. "It has it's on smart television and access to the wifi..."

Joshua Foley has posed:
Joshua considers her for a moment as they lock eyes and he steps into her. There's no kiss this time, but he pulls her close and into an embrace, his hands settling on her back for several moments to hold her.

When he steps back, he nods. "Rule one, open communication." There's a small smirk when he says that, but it's more amusement than anything mean spirited. He was accepting her. And her ideas, not complaint issued.

"I'd like that." he admits. "But I'm probably just going to take a shower and get some rest." After a momentary pause, "When you're off next, do you want to go shopping for your skate stuff? I know the place to go and I may need to start looking for a new board to break in myself. My current one is a couple of years old and been well-worn."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara wraps her arms around him for the hug, holding him close and resting her head against his. Caressing his back, she enjoys the closeness before stepping back.

"Rule one accepted," she smiles. "And by open communication that means on /any/ topic, including questions asked... now, let me show you where your room is, the towels are, and there's even an extra terry cloth robe, never used."

Joshua Foley has posed:
As he starts to follow her, Joshua grins, "You're spoiling me, Sara. And I don't think I'm gonna complain about it." he teases as he stretches out, a yawn covered quickly with his hand.

"Rule one feeds rules two and three. Trust and loyalty. I'll answer honestly any questions you ask. And well, loyalty is not an issue. You're earning that with terry cloth robes." A wink as they arrive at the bedroom. "This me?"

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Up the stairs and around to the left, Sara stops and opens the door to the bedroom. "This is you," she nods. "Bathroom is there, towels are in the cabinet, along with soaps, shampoos, etc. The robe is in the closet in the room, might be a little big on you but that should just make it more snuggly."

Stepping back so he can step into the room and get on with his own business, she pauses to say, "Being spoiled is never a bad thing... but on the topic of answering questions. I will answer honestly, but there may be some questions I'll have to put a pin in for a brief time, then answer when I find the right words."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"If I knew what those questions were, I'd know not to ask them." Joshua points out to her. "But I'll wait for you to tell me to wait." he tucks his hands to his side and opens the door to the bedroom. "I guess this is good night, then."

There's an awkward moment and he asks, "Was my kiss okay?" In other words, would she want another?

Sara Pezzini has posed:
"Even I can't know for certain which questions might cause it," Sara admits quietly. "I just know in the past a few times, there's been a question that caused pause... don't worry too much about it, you'll know when I know."

Stepping back over to him, one hand resting on his hip, Sara brushed a light kiss across his lips before she whispers, "I have something to dream about now, so yes, your kiss was better than good. And tonight... a really good night."

Joshua Foley has posed:
Joshua returns her kiss, catching it before she can get away and he brushes his nose against hers as he takes her hand. "So do I." he admits, a smile touching his features before he pulls back, his hand leaving hers.

He turns to look over his shoulder at her. "I'll see you in the morning." Because he plans to be awake before she goes to work so he can hopefully have coffee with her before seeing her off. "Good night, Sara."
